The same thing they do in boxing, if it’s within a certain time frame, any fouls causing the fight to be over will make the fight a no contest rather than DQ. I think it starting being a thing after Jon jones lost by DQ in first round when he didn’t really lose that fight

​@@lenoster7939had nothing to do with time lol. That was solely up to the ref's discretion. And in boxing it doesn't work that way either..... so you're double wrong. Boxing goes to cards after 4 rounds for ACCIDENTAL fouls, not intentional fouls. But this is mma. The fight absolutely could've been ruled a DQ. The ref chose not to considerate it intentional enough to be malicious to the point of disqualifying a fighter for it. The reason is because if you do then you have to worry about fighters being more willing to say they can't continue ANY time a foul happens. So it's not a super easy thing to decide unless it's a case where a guy CLEARLY hurts a guy illegally. You soccer kick somebody and split their face wide open for instance. In this fight Walker didn't even stop fighting at first, the ref told them stop.... it wasn't like the Aljo fight where he flopped right away and then stayed down the whole time. That call was easier to make (since the ref goes off of what he sees, not whether or not he THINKS the guy is acting or not) .
