Johnston Island Walkthrough From Commander’s House To The JOC 

Sun was just about set and I needed to get back to the boat. That meant a walk through the bird colonies between the Commander’s House and the JOC out to the main road.
This section was mostly red-footed boobies and greater frigatebirds. There were a few grey-backed terns on the seawall near the steps earlier, but they all left a few minutes before I started moving. The sooty tern colony was still further east but you can hear them squawking in the background the whole time. (Heck, you can hear them squawking from the boat tied up at the Main Wharf!)
As you can see the roads are overgrown, but still mostly passable on foot.
