4 oz. meat/poultry/fish
2 eggs
2 oz. hard cheese
4 oz. cottage cheese (plain)
8 oz. yogurt (plain, no added sugar)
2 oz. nuts/seeds/nut butters (no sugar)
6 oz. beans (legumes)
4 oz. hummus
2 veggie burgers
4 oz. plain tofu
4 oz. tempeh
GRAIN
4 oz. cooked rice, potato, quinoa (or any cooked whole grain)
4 oz. corn or peas or winter squashes
2 oz. oatmeal or oat bran (weighed dry, before preparing with water)
3 rice cakes
FRUIT
1 piece of fruit (apple, orange, banana, peach, etc.)
6 oz. loose or diced fruit (berries, grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, fruit salad, etc.)
2 oz. dried fruit (raisins, dates, apricots, etc.)
VEGETABLES
16 oz. cooked or raw or a combination of both
including summers squashes
including avocado and olives, used sparingly
FAT
1 Tablespoon oil (olive oil, canola oil, safflower oil, vegetable oil, coconut oil, etc.) (any oil)
1 Tablespoon butter or margarine (no sugar in ingredients)

RN here. Sometimes weight fluctuations are water retention and/or bowel movements that need to be eliminated. So glad you are kind and level headed Lulu. And a great educator and influencer 🎉💗

Agree, I always have issues with constipation (b/c of my bad sweet tooth) I also wanted to add that a person's mind set may help with health. Lulu seems to have a pretty good outlook on life & delightful.

Great news on weight maintenance& stretching increasing! I'm 70 yrs old and I can lay my hands flat on the floor as I stretch over my toes. I'm grateful for that and I believe it has to do a lot with doing ballet in my lifetime ❤

I attend a HIIT workout 4 times a week but not for weight loss, for muscle gain and heart health. I eat properly for my best weight .

Same. Best advice I ever heard. You cannot exercise away a bad diet. Losing weight is mainly diet. But toning and heart health can come from exercise. I also love the comradery of classes. I am a member of a ladies gym and it’s the best thing I do for myself. That and a bid ass salad. Thanks Lulu.

You are an inspiration to me! I will be 67 this month. I have eaten organic for the past 15 years, but have been about 35 lbs overweight since my kids were born 36 years ago. Found out I was diabetic 2 months ago. Since then, I am down from 178 to 161. Previously, I ate bread and potatoes at every meal, and lots of pasta and pizza as well; as much as I wanted. I had no idea that my body was converting it to sugar and storing the excess in my liver as fat!!! Now I eat 30 mg of carbs twice a day. If I can get my A1C to the normal range (from 6.7), like 5.7, I may treat myself to a baked sweet potato once per week. My doc says once you are diabetic you will always be. I believe I can reverse this, since I did this with food, I can undo this with food changes and portion control. Lulu, thank you so much for creation great content that is very uplifting! Happy July.

Hi Lulu, about touching toes I am tall 5ft8 and I have never been able to touch mine either. I think for me its because my legs are longer than body. Im all legs LOL. You just gave me incentive to do stretches now in my daily routine. Thanks.

LULU When you reach as far as you can shift your eyes back and forth for a few seconds and reach a little more. A yoga teacher showed me this. It works. 😊

I do my stretching just after my shower. Comb out my hair, bend at the hips and flip my hair over. While im blow drying my hair I stretch, touching my toes, extend my reach from left side to as far right as I can and repeat on the other side. Multi tasking and stretching the kinks out.

Yeah, so you’ll gather up some length through the calves calf muscles right on down through your Achilles and then you’ll gather up some more length with your hamstrings and then the erectors of your back and that’s pretty much it I wouldn’t worry so much about how far you can pull your arms out of your shoulder socket with reaching it’s more about those calves hamstrings in your back and folding And it’s almost like surrendering and allowing lengthening

What's going on in the garden? You haven't covered the garden or the roof renovation, unless I missed them. I cannot imagine you over weight by 100 lbs. You didn't wind up with loose skin like some do. Do you do anything to keep your skin firm. Are you back to tap dancing, again? Hearher 🇨🇦

hi Heather!! the garden is coming along nicely, just not too much to say so I haven't mentioned it. if you look closely, my skin is not quite firm, but it's good. I don't know why my skin is not worse than it is. but then again, I gave birth to 2 almost 9 pound babies and never got one stretch mark. I guess it's my skin!! not tap dancing yet, when I get back from my Maryland trip, I'm going to give it a go and hope that I don't ruin my healing!! 😊

no. I never get sick. and I would never plan on getting sick. I always say, "what you focus on grows", so I focus and plan on always being well, and it's funny that it always works out that way!! if/when I get sick (can't remember the last time), I will figure it out!! 😊

hello!! thanks for your lovely note!! I have done a video on cooking rice, but I think I'll do one on cooking the mixed grains because many have asked to see that! I do absolutely nothing with my nails, no manicure, no filing, no polish!! I only clip them to shorten them up. I guess my nails are healthy from the inside out!!! 😊

I found a way to keep my weight the same for five years this year they discovered that if you eat dessert first you will not gain weight off of it why because the brain burns what you eat first I didn't know this back in 1975 but was just doing it because that was just how I ate and when my weight stayed the same I just thought it was normal anyway when I was married my husband didn't allow this and I ballooned up to 234 pounds but now that he's not around I've gone back to the way I used to eat and my weight is back to staying at one weight the scientist were right ❤❤❤❤
