The new GOP is basically a return to sane, common sense Democrats of the early 2000s. A Trump, Tulsi, and RFK, all former Democrats whose party abandoned the republic.

I think that would almost guarantee he meets the fate his father did. Not saying he would do a bad job. Just that our government doesn't have much, if any, control of those agencies to begin with, and _someone_ or _something_ does. It's very likely not the director in control, and almost certainly would not be if he were chosen for that position.

@icestationzebraassociates2460 unfortunately, you may be correct. As Bret has said before, Bobby is willing to risk such a fate for the opportunity for even a chance to salvage our country. The other day, when Bobby said something like, give me a sword and some ground to stand on, and I will give you your country back. I think he understands the stakes and is American enough to follow through regardless of consequence. To your point of the CIA directorship being a facad, who better to unveil the sham than RFK? Not many. It's more suiting for Bobby to be at the helm of the EPA, obviously, but CIA Directorship would make waves in the political space that might topple the rickety ship the authoritarians are sailing. It's all speculation, and none of this will probably happen, but it's fun to think about.

Everyone on Kennedy's campaign would be hard-nosed and pragmatic enough to already see the writing on the wall what with the legal battles the Democrats are throwing up to prevent Kennedy being on the ballot.

100% She did this with his approval as a way to soften the blow ahead of Friday's announcement. The idea is to plant the seed so it's not as jarring when he teams with Trump.

I've been a conservative for many years. I used to rather like big corp's, for a variety of reasons. I still don't necessarily mind that a co is large, but I've become much more conscious, particularly since 2020, that there are a bevy of large corp's that do not value my freedom, to the point that they threaten it, and so I have been more mindful than I used to be about where I spend my money.

But RFK isn't a national security expert the way he is with health related issues. His interview with Dr Mark Hyman is brilliant. This country is unhealthy as hell, and RFK knows a lot about the causes and corrupt entanglements that are not helping things. His talents and expertise will be best served as either head of FDA or Secretary of Health, something along those lines. CIA director, I just don't see it realistically. I don't think that's his calling.

​@@meatthenole5601 Yeah, I totally agree. The bottom line is that the only vehicle that gets a coalition of resistance into the White House to establish a foothold is through Trump. It is just the reality at this point. If RFK had somehow managed to wrestle control over the DNC like Trump did in 2016 this would be a totally different discussion but that didn't happen. The comments of "RFK or bust" is a classic case of "how the world should be" vs "how the world is". RFK _should_ be a first-class candidate alongside all other major party candidates with full ballot access and debate stage presence. He _should_ be as mainstream as the other candidates with as large of a voting base. He is articulate, careful in his thinking, and deliberate with his words. He is passionate about his ideas, nuanced, and open to changing his position if presented with new evidence. He is a statesman and a patriot. That's how it _should_ be, but not how it is. If you want to make the world how it should be, then you have to start from where we are now and gain enough power to be in a position to turn that tide and _make it_ how it should be. The car isn't supposed to be missing a wheel, but nonetheless it is. So you can't just decide "I am going to drive it anyways because that's how it should be, and if I compromise on another ride or tow it instead then I am settling and giving in to the status quo!" That is not being steadfast, that is just fucking dumb, and you will go nowhere and the car will never be fixed. We have this idea that a third party candidate is like the prisoner's dilemma and if enough people were just willing to vote their conscious it would work out. I am sorry, but no- because you can't get the third party candidate into the conscious of most "regular" voters in the first place to win that dilemma- hence the analogy of the car with no wheel. You need a ride or a tow to get there, that is just how it is. We aren't fixing this in four years anyways- be it RFK or Trump- but we do have a once in a lifetime opportunity this election cycle to leverage the political willpower and disillusionment across parties and ideologies to actually establish a resistance. This will not exist in 2028 if we lose in 2024 to the establishment elites. It is NOT just about the individual in the WH the next four years, it is about the content of the constituency behind that candidate that will matter because an effective coalition has to continue into 2028 and beyond to save this country. It can't just be "RFK should have been the Democrat candidate and be our model the Democrat party", nor can it be "Trump should get 4 more years" because that doesn't outlast the individual. It has to be bigger- it has be about stopping goliath and the establishment elites- who have indeed found a comfortable home in the Democratic Party and kicked out the previous occupants. Personally, I think if we don't form some coalition here of a broader base, we lose in the long term no matter what. The disaffected blue team members that wouldn't join the coalition will just keep bitching about their party being hijacked and will become the Ron Paul constituency of the liberals. If Trump wins without a broad enough coalition behind him, they will be rudderless going into 2028 and the establishment elites will yank back control.

Conservatives are often Christians in various forms & a few decades ago society shamed many into saying the morals of our religion are "mean", ex "God is love so if you don't love anything we do ever, you don't love God you are hateful". So they slowly caved on too many things thinking the crazies wouldn't get power but surprise they have.

It was a slow rot with a quick gallop at the end. It came to this because actors outside of visibility to the average American have been at work for a long time. People just want to go to work and go home and do their laundry and grocery shopping. They've also been busied with a circus of brain-eating "entertainment" and social media and the waters have been so muddied with propaganda that for many, it's hard to tell what's even happening day-to-day. It's also questionable that "the people" have even had much input for the last several decades. Very likely those books have been cooked along with the others. But it's not over.

I'm not completely convinced that if it was truly left up to us, that we have let it get to this. I used to think so, but no more. I think there came a point when we tried, but that expression of our preference has been distorted. Bret said it, the cheating. I don't think that prevented what we wanted in 2016, but other elections, before and since (particularly since), look suspicious to me. It's not because of who got in, but because I've looked at the counting process. Since the tabulation is run digitally, there's a data stream that can be analyzed. It looks real screwy, like there's no way the elections should've been certified. Yet, they were. Canvass boards were threatened. If they didn't certify, they were going to jail. So, they bent the knee. People have tried to bring this evidence to court since 2020, but judges refuse to hear it. They won't allow it into court. And so, we have what we have. Only success I've heard about is convincing individual counties to change to a transparent counting process; to get away from the machines.

It's almost comedic when you look at it, but that's a sure way to get my comment deleted. YT's AI also looks for certain phrases, and deletes based on that. The best I can do on here is just talk about what I've seen, and then tell people to do their own research. I'll add that I've seen two county clerks in my state illegally removed from office, because they investigated complaints of fraud in local elections in 2021. One has had lawfare waged against her, recently convicted in a kangaroo court proceeding, because she is the one clerk in the country who revealed what's going on inside the digital election systems. She's appealing, but she's facing jail time. If anyone's curious, her name is Tina Peters, former Clerk of Mesa County, CO. She has a website. She has 3 forensic reports posted on it, which she commissioned, detailing the problems.
