I’m excited for you. Keep your eye on the prize! Let’s finish out your last year strong. Go ahead and get into fitness, and take your ASVAB while all of it is still fresh on your mind. Please check back in and let me know how things went. Good Luck❤️.
Yea. I had all of my jobs listed as Medical, and he told me I had to change it and make it more diverse. I thought he was BS me to get me to put something down that rarely hasn’t a waiting period so I can leave early.
I say go for it. Intermittent fasting, HIIT cardio, and drinking Begulow Green Tea will work wonders. Just stay consistent with it. All I had to lose was about 5 pounds and that’s what I’ve been doing.
@@HozoClips you most definitely are! Just keep it up and the rest will melt off before you know it. Make it your goal to be AT YOUR GOAL, before or by the Summer. You’ll be ready to ship out in no time. 💪🏾
Love this video! I’m currently a single mom in my process of joining the Air Force, been waiting on medical waivers since august and I’m kinda in the same boat to where I have like 5 things marked down in my medical questionnaire and I had to send so much paper work it’s repetitive, every month it’s like they want the same thing but worded differently from my doctors and statements from me. Just waiting to go to meps now haven’t gotten a date to go yet though..
Yeeeesss. I’m glad you understand what I was saying. They were literally asking for the same stuff in different ways. 3-4 months of printing, copying, and scanning the same documents to my recruiter😂 but there is hope. I just kept myself busy and stopped thinking about it. Idk if it’s something you could get reevaluated, but what I did was go to my current PCP and just asked her to re-evaluate/test me, etc. and she made a little note mentioning that I was in good health and nothing is for concern. Meps is gonna do their own thing, but I feel like updated documents of whatever it is their asking for will help. Best of luck to you, and I hope my videos moving forward would be motivational. I can’t wait to share with other single moms how life possibly is on that side.
@@kebreannalasha yes that’s exactly what I had to do and she now has stated that I’m in good health and I have no current medical problems and I’m cleared to go through bmt. I should get an answer this week if I go to meps soon and I’m in the clear from the chief medical officer. I’ll definitely be excited to see your journey through the Air Force as a single mom while I’m waiting to join. These videos keep me so motivated. I try to keep myself distracted as much as possible so I’m not thinking about it constantly but it’s hard out here trying to get a medical job at 21 semi-fresh out of college😩 it’s super competitive😫
im trying so hard to get to this point but i have to pass the asvab first but it’s literally so harddddd😭😭. i just had twins 8 months ago and thats been my ONLY MAJOR medical situation.
Hey. I was in it for awhile, but I kept myself busy. That’s why I’m glad I put this video out, so people can know to have pharmacy/doctors records ready. Also, I went to my PCP prior to Meps to get a full body physical so I can have it as supporting documents.
Please make more about how your schedule works! I want to work in the medical field, but I heard about the Panama schedule and I don’t know how childcare would work as a single mom
Most definitely! Hours wise, Working in the medical field is 50/50 because we can either work at a base with a hospital or a base with just clinics. If you work at a base with a hospital, the experience will be GREAT, but you’ll more than likely be working panama. If you work at a base with just clinics, then it’s 7:30-4:30 (daycare on base opens at 6:30-5:45pm) but working in the clinics is so repetitive. I enjoy it but whew, kinda get bored at times. I think for less stress and because I’m a mom I prefer the clinic life. I’ll most definitely get a day in the life video out and be detailed so you can see. If you want, Add me on snap. I post on there a lot about how we doing so you can see it’s nothing stressful. @chief_kekee
Since I told them I took a prescription for my anxiety, they needed my pharmacy records going back 5 years. They only ask if you let them know of a condition you have that required you to take meds. As far as my records, they only have what I gave them pertaining to my anxiety diagnosis.
Hey. No question is a dumb question😭, but where something appropriate. Not revealing nor exotic. You can never gone wrong with a pair of jeans, and TShirt. No holes in jeans. Shoes, sandals, flip flops are fine. Just dress like you’re having a casual day running errands lol.
@@Naleus Yes ma’am. Eat lots of cucumbers with some Italian dressing. That’s what I ate at bmt (along with my meals) and it helped me shred weight like crazy. Plus with the Pt included.
You should mention that to your recruiter and just see. If you do have asthma, it’s not safe to hold that info from them because the training environment and BEAST week is intense and hectic. The air force had waivers for a lot of stuff though, but everything is on a case by case basis.
Hello! . I have a question question. In July of 2020 I had a surgery for my scoliosis because it caused me back pains. I’m at fully healed now and my doctor gave me the clear to do anything with no limitations after I was 6 months post opp. Is it possible I can still get intro the Air Force or try to at least get a waiver?
Hey. I most definitely say try and provide that doctors notes along with your medical documents on that. It does not hurt to try. They’re gonna examine you at Meps in regards to that as well and the Doctor there is gonna do another evaluation on you and see for herself anyway. Look up “Air Force Waiver Guide” on google and see what it says for scoliosis. I personally looked up that waiver guide to ease my nerves and it helped. I’m not saying that the that pdf waiver guide on google is accurate, but it looked just like the one they pulled out at meps. It’s on google for the world to see so it’s not private information. I just don’t recommend not disclosing any information on it because the guide said it was “waiverable”.
Again, I’m no big fan of google, but that waiver guide looked exactly like the one they whipped out on me at meps. I hope this information is helpful and this is just what I did to help me. I’m not saying it’s gonna work Everytime, but it’s worth a shot. It’ll save you some time as well to go ahead and gather alllll documents regarding that. X-rays and all. If you have updated X-rays, those too, as well as that note from your doctor. They’re gonna be very careful when they look at your spine at Meps. If you don’t have any obvious deformities or curves or pain (basically you gotta be asymptomatic) when they look, they just might not disqualify you, we’re gonna hope not. Even if they do disqualify you, they’ll let you know right away if it’s waiverable. I don’t know what all that Medical terminology is lol but I read that it’s waiverable if you don’t have pain to interfere with anything or any deformities, or if they can’t see a curve through your clothes. So that doctors note on you performing is gonna help. Hell that book is on google, so If you want to show your doctor that page and have her verify if any of them apply to you then do that. That’s what I did. 😂Best of luck! Can’t wait to hear back from you on an update of what they say. ❤️
So you got in with anxiety what if I don’t put it I was only on meds for a month and I only had anxiety due to having a child in the nicu. I was wondering if they were gonna see that ?
They only see what you mention to them. However, it’s good to just mention everything off top, so you won’t have to worry about things popping up later. (This happened to plenty of ppl at Basic and I was so happy I just told the truth up front. I Was like they already know my history and waived me, so it was a relief just knowing there’s nothing you can possibly get disqualified for) Don’t let ppl lie to you. You might make it pass MEPs not mentioning it, but at Basic, they be finding out, and idk how. If you do mention it, you should still be fine as long as you weren’t self harming or thinking about it. Our situation is not the same as to why I was prescribed meds, but I don’t think neither is a serious concerning issue. I took meds for a month also and never took them again. I don’t have any counseling records or anything of me being seen by a therapist. If you do decide to mention it, they’re gonna ask for your prescription history that goes back to 5 years, and any medical documents pertaining to why you were on meds and honestly, if you don’t have any suicidal ideations or no aggressive counseling history, you should be good. I would suggest going to your PCP and ask if they can write a statement mentioning that you’re ok to serve. The problem comes when you let it affect your lifestyle ongoing. Just be truthful about it fr. Let them know you were worried about your child like any parent would be, and that you have never been hospitalized for it Or assigned to therapy. This statement from you, along with a statement from your PCP, along with medical records proving you have no history of that elsewhere, you should be ok.
If you show symptoms they’ll send you home to get tested, and you can’t return l until you bring a negative or clearance letter. In these times, of course be safe and cautious, but don’t let a little sniffle get you sent back in your process. This recently happened to a young lady who was scheduled to ship out. On ship day, she TOLD them she had symptoms so they sent her home and didn’t let her leave and all she had was strep throat. I advise that if you suspect you may be sick, get tested and treated way before leaving and be careful moving forward. Your recruiter should tell you that when it gets close to ship time to basically quarantine yourself to not risk getting sick, or any last minute injuries/law trouble.
So what did you do about them asking for counseling notes when you didnt see one because i was nervous at meps so my heart rate was high and they tried to diagnose me with tachycardia so they are asking for paperwork on my history of it and treatment etc but i dont have it so i have been waiting on a waiver since november 19th
Hey. So they honestly kept asking for paperwork on my anxiety but there was nothing more I had to give to them. They wanted the last 5 years of my prescription records and documentation on my diagnosis. I took medication for like a month but I stopped because I felt like I didn’t need it. I was just very overwhelmed with life at that time. I informed them of this too. (Its human nature to feel like this sometimes) All I had was a 2017 diagnosis. I had no outpatient/inpatient paperwork or nothing. However, I did go to my current PCP just for a typical yearly annual and asked her to do a new evaluation on my anxiety. She did, she said she didn’t suspect anything was wrong, and she wrote a note on my after visit summary stating that I was in good health and I took this to them. I believe that helped.
@@kebreannalasha hey i appreciate the response my doctor had put on my waiver anxiety was the cause of my heart rate being high so now they want prescription records for the last 5 years and they want me to do a psych evaluation i have never been on depression or anxiety medicine nor have i ever seen a psychiatrist so im not really worried however i have been taking acid reflux medication and singulair for allergies i hope that doesnt raise any questions
@@mcgoat5398 they’ll probably want to investigate that more. Just don’t volunteer any information. If they ask you, don’t lie. Hopefully things will be fine. Do good at your Meps visit, etc. I also googled the Air Force waiver guide. Google will make you paranoid, but that waiver guide calmed my nerves, especially when the Doctor pulled a hard copy out in front of me at my Meps visit and it resembled what I saw on google. (Google is still the devil😂) I was saying to myself like “yeess, I looked this up already. It’s not disqualifying😂😂” 🙌🏾. Prior to my MEPS visit, I was so nervous and constantly I looked up things I marked yes for on my medical questionnaire and saw what other factors surrounding that issue was gonna make it disqualifying. For instance, anxiety is a disqualification if I was on meds for 5 years, or if I was not off meds for at least 5 years I believe. It was one of those. This is just what I did. I’m not saying if you decide to go look up the waiver guide book, and you read where it says that you wouldn’t get disqualified for it, I don’t know that to be facts, but with my experience, stuff I read upon already, it was very accurate to how the Doc went about things. She asked me disqualifying factors of my condition that was in the book, and I just honestly answered no. I hope I’m making since lol. Message me on Insta if you can.
are you still in? or what lol. Well you know what they say officers with prior enlisted experience make the best officers. So I wouldn't doubt that lol.
