I believe I saw the schematics for Ben's new lawn equipment on one corner of the Lads robotics table. Better keep a close watch on all of it now! ;> 12 volts DC really doesn't present that much electric shock danger to you unless you have negated the natural resistance of human skin which is pretty hard though not totally impossible to do. Bigger danger is generating heat from short circuiting a metal piece of jewelry like a ring or watch band turning it cherry red hot which can lose you a finger or do some pretty severe arterial and tendon damage in your wrists. White corrosion could mean that the wire was copper clad aluminum so would have needed to be soldered and sealed with heat shrink at every connection and splice. If it has CCA stamped on it then its Copper Clad Aluminum wire and requires some extra precautions when used outdoors. My Dad was a WW2 Wire Chief and Electrical Engineer serving in the Pacific Theater until has was activated as a Jungle Raider so he drilled it into us how to splice, solder and seal connections to make them hold up to even submersion in salt water. Just crimping and tape wouldn't pass muster. Best!

Speaking of science and engineering, hey Ben, get yourself a shop apron! Better yet, go to Wally World and pick up a couple cheap tshirts to keep at the office. Just sayin…. Better than getting those $50 Under Armor shirts covered in brake dust and grease!
