I was @ Camp Anaconda, aka Mortar City, back in 07-08. While there we transitioned from OIF / OEF. I have SO much Love for all of you: *my battles!* It’s reassuring to know that I’ll always have my fellow brothers & sisters in arms, & you ALL will ALWAYS have me.
@@beb38138 that's what they called it when I was there we convoyed back and forth from balad from camp ashraf. Ashraf really sucked it was a spek in the middle of the desert.
I was in Iraq from December 2005 to December 2011. Al Asad December 2005 to July 2007. Joint Base Balad July 2007 to September 2011. Tallil AB September 2011 to December 2011. Traveled all over Iraq to all the FOB's. Contracting. KBR and Vista International Operations.
@@VagPoop_ You think I'm worried about OPSEC when the war in Iraq has been over & these events happened well over 11 years ago. Do you scream OPSEC about events that took place in the 1st Gulf War or the Vietnam War?
When I was there in 2011 most of that stuff was gone. All the resturants were closed. I think one pizza place was there for about three days in, and the PX was closing there was only one left and it was in the area of about a small convenient store. Even the mess halls closed about two or three weeks before we left. It looked nice in this video compared to when I was there.
I was there with KBR in 2004-2005 before a lot of those shops were there. I had some good times working there. Went back there 2011 as it was shutting down and it was a little sad to see it back to basic's. Thanks for the memory.
I purchased the entire M.A.S.H. DVD collection during a Bazaar in 2009…and oh yeah we were hit every night…especially during the “Haboo” (dust storm)…got plenty of PTSD to last a lifetime
So glad I found this video. Lots of memories... and I'm in the video! (at 2:30). I'm talking to two Soldiers at the Pizza Hut (I'm the one standing up, talking)
@@BobbyVillela were you the one taking the video? I remember seeing someone with a video camera. I was really surprised to see the video, and myself in it. I was just looking for video of Anaconda to show my 13yr old, so I could show him what it was like.
@@amann2547 Yes Sir, I filmed this for use as part of the New-Comers Briefing for our battalion. I’m glad you found it and showed your son a small snap shot of the facilities that were available. 👍
Never ever eat at the Balad Subway. So gross. Deployed there winter 04/05, summer 05, summer 07, fall/winter 08, Summer 10. Our hangar was very near the corner of David Letterman Drive and Texas Ave. Right next to a C-RAM. 04/05, it was still very much the wild west. The west side PX, at the time, was an old semi trailer.

Unfortunately, we are Iraqis from the persecuted areas controlled by the militias. We have lost the exit of American forces from Iraq. We hope you will come again as soon as possible😣😣😣😣
Damn I miss riding the 13th coscom ans the c bus to the gym and the main dfac.... Where the Ugandans checking out the weapon for safety......😂😂😂... And don't think KBR and us didn't have hella parties... Hell yeah we did....😂😂
