I'm literally surviving from your videos, thank you so much for everything, but what about the subtalar medial/lateral calcaneal glide?

I am sorry i am little bit confused? is there talofibular joint?? I don't think so talofibular means between talus and fibia, so how it is proximal since there is only one>? or if there is any joint with that name? do you mean tibiofibular joint?

Love your work! I think for jointplay for the mid tarsals you have to fixate the Talus and Calcaneus and work with the navicular and cuboid (line of Chopart) And not fixate the navicular and work with the cuneiforms. Please correct me if I am wrong...

when you do traction, wouldn't it be better if you fixate tibia? It seems you're doing traction using the whole leg not only ankle.. Rest looks awesome, thank you!!!
@Physiotutors
@Physiotutors 7 лет назад
That's pretty hard to do with only one person, unless you let the patient fixate his tibia himself. In joint play you just want to figure out if there is joint play or not - you should be able to take up the slack and create joint play in the ankle before slack is taken up in the knee and hip. Anyways, we're gonna do a remake of all of these joint play videos soon anyways as we are covering extremities in our Master's atm anyways.

I love your videos! I was wondering what you think of the the Foot Posture Index? Any chance of a video? :D
@Physiotutors
@Physiotutors 7 лет назад
Hey Fiona, sorry for the late reply and very happy to hear that you love our videos! Never really came across it during our education or practice, but we are going to look into it. At first sight we would have claimed that anything rating posture cannot have good reliability, but the Index seems to be pretty reliable. Problem we see with assessing posture is that humans have such a great anatomical and postural variety that it's often hard to tell if the "abnormality" is a predictive factor for pathology or a risk factor.

Love your video's guys, but in the beginning you speak off a proximal talofibular joint, then you refer to another video about joint play of the proximal tibiofibular joint, but I can't find anything about de proximal talofibular joint anywhere else on your page?
@Physiotutors

It should be distal talofibular joint!?
@Physiotutors
@Physiotutors 8 лет назад
Both, the proximal and distal talofibular joint should be assessed, which is not shown in this video.
@Physiotutors

+PDC Ghada yes it's a typo, should be tibiofibular joint like I say correctly

Hello im trying to understand the achilles Tendon biomechanical influence on the Tibiotalar joint, subtutal joint etc. regarding gliding and rolling. I have these reflection because of my patiens with lengthy achilles tendon ( because of post-achilles-tendon-rupture surgery. So im trying to understand the biomechanical correlation between af lengthy/loose achilles tendon and joint play in the foot. My imediate clinical thinking tells me that that there is a chance for an anterior impingement in the anterior ankle joint. what do you think?
@Physiotutors
@Physiotutors 5 лет назад
Hi Ibn, not sure if it's that simple. Haven't found any paper to link increased Achilles tendon length with anterior ankle impingement, apart from this very specific group: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23620500
