This is a really helpful video thanks Eric. Some great ideas from the hold down clamp on the shooting board and especially the "plan B" method with the sanding bar. I've seen too many videos where the operator get the join spot on after the first attempt and then offers no advise to the mere mortals, like myself, that can't. Thanks again.
Great video. A third alternative to the lightbox in poor daylight is to take the pice outside and lay it against the window with your shop lights on full.
Nice tutorial. If u don't have a light box u can flip the pair up on a flat surface (glass or a cast iron top works well) and shine a light from behind to observe the joint.
Eric, can you use a 6” jointer set for a very light cut say, 1/32 or so? Or is a jointer too aggressive? Or can you make the joints even before planing it down to the right thickness?
Thanks for sharing Eric. When you put the pieces together and check for light, are you applying any pressure or should the ends come together w/o any pressure?
No glue. It's adhesive backed sandpaper. If you don't have adhesive backed paper just use doublestick tape. There are some glues you can use but it's just easier and less messy to use either the adhesive backed paper or double stick tape.
