most artists have one or two hit songs in their album but this album..nectar is crazy...every song is unique...shows how much hard work, effort joji put into his music
All his music fits perfectly into each other in the album. You can tell he put a lot of work into engendering these. Especially the transition from daylight to upgrade. The chord progression in the beginning of upgrade is . . . AMAZING
You do realise that this particular song is about people drifting apart and being terrified because of it, right? Not a very promising song when it comes to weddings. :^)))
The thing about this album is that I can't stop listening. If I try to watch a YT video instead of finishing the album my brain shuts down and I get lost in the music. George Miller is definitely a really talented individual.
All of these brilliant songs, including from Ballads & In Tongues are such a cluster of so many emotions that hit so hard to the heart. Thank you Joji for the amazing lyrics & amazing voice that literally get me through so much again Thank You
The truth is most entertainers have a sad side. It takes a smart person to make people laugh. The irony is that people look at someone acting dumb and think they actually are. Even his crazy stuff took an insane amount of work and talent and grind. I'm just glad he had the courage to come out and not have to act for everyone. It's beautiful!
i miss papa franku, thing is, he still got his pink guy behaviour, not the insane part but it i ingrained into his personality, he got booed off stage for raping about balls, and some of his music vids he still got his weird behaviour that we all know and love, pink guy will be forever a part of him, he express himself more, but he did sacrifise his humor for his music, because his fans are mostly brainded people that tried to cancle him when they found out what he used to do, may he 1 day return to the land of the chromosones and give the starved chinchin another sacrifise so that the worl can start turning again, amen
@@greedy49 Offensive humour is my favorite plus he's had to deal with seizures himself so it's ok now. actually being able to make fun of such things is quite liberating to those going through it. It's often people with no experience with such issues that take the most offence which is hypocritical. Life can be sad and often even people with cancer put in down or make fun of it and that is a great coping mechanism. It's actually a form of positivity!
I absolutely agree. This whole album feels like a long story. Every song seems to be connected to each other. Sometimes I don't even know much time passed and the album is still running.
Listened to this entire album again just before Joji release SMITHEREENS tomorrow. NECTAR came to me right when I was going through a rough patch and it stayed with me and got me through alot. To this day it sounds as amazing as it did the first time I listened to it. Amazing how an album can change our lives
Well we know now that nectar is still better in all aspect, and yes SMITHEREENS had more hit power with Glimpse of us and YUKON which are really good songs and is a good example on how much Joji improved not only as an Artist but as a songwriter, producer and overall sound of his music. But Nectar had more impact, more lusciousness and bittersweetness as an album rather than SMITHEREENS where only some of the songs from the tracklist can make you feel home whilst nectar, to feel it you have to go through the whole tracklist of Nectar which is what makes it an incredible Album, with versatile sounds coming from rnb, pop, to indie rock, dance pop etc.. while SMITHEREENS feels more of like an EP than an album it had better production on some tracks that nectar failed to show us. Songs like "Feeling like the end" rather hits that of like Modus from Nectar with the hard, rusty yet sweet hitting bass and beat, to the high repeating hi-hats and catchy tune that Joji have mustered through out his whole discography. Joji delivered a better production and sound from SMITHEREENS where Nectar could catch up to. So even If Smithereens is obviously not a step up from Joji's previous project. It definitely shows his improvement through this last 2 years. Futhermore the new project had a runtime of only more than 25 mins and definitely fell off from my expectation, and I guess everyone's expectations considering Joji's Hiatus for 2 years, naturally, we would expect a bigger project than the lest specially after dropping two hit singles and on of them hitting no. 2 on the billboards top 100. Although the album compliments fairy well with everything Joji built up to this point I can't say that it can hold the title of being a better album than the last, or a step down from his last two projects but.. It has his great points and flaws and takes that could have been taken out of the project and even add more to it because the album is not bad, the production is on point, it had bangers it had catchy songs and alot of guitar samples and tbh I am digging it. And so to conclude, a runtime of less than 30 minutes, a short and simple 9 tracks album In my opinion I think that it's a solid 4 to a light 5 on this one, maybe if he made it to be just an EP I would inderstand and maybe if he makes a deluxe cut from it I would umm, really be excited from it well not as much as I hoped for now after 2 years of no Joji can really be a lot of time and we really expected more but other than trans - Melon (He dmd his script to me)
Underrated comment. This is exactly what happened to me. First time I listened to it I was disappointed, but I came back to it after 1,5-2 years, and could finally recognise its brilliance. I still miss the lo-fi sound of Chloe Burbank, or the grittier sound of In Tongues, but each album he makes has its own unique kind of magic, I feel.
hey you, yeah you. please stay alive.. I know its terrible but you never know where you will be years even months from now. You are important.. no matter what anyone says Love, Gracie
@@9yearsago2minutesago15 I think regardless of how little your life matters, the fact is, you could do so much with it. I think you should live it out to the fullest. Life can be really hard, but there is a beauty to it. There is a lot to life, and you might as well live.
I hear this album every day, i know every song, i know what song comes next, i know all the lyrics of all songs on this album, i love joji, greetings from Argentina.
i'm absolutely blown away by the genius of joji. I can't even remember the last time i listened to an album on repeat, but it was DECADES ago. Maybe it was Pink Floyd. Joji's music is ethereal pure art mixed with emotional expression and amazing melodies whilst being unbelievably unique
His music always so relatable. I been through a huge break up 7 years ago with the love of my life. I've been in relationship after relationship since then. I always find something in another woman that reminds me of her. Eventually I realize that it's not her and break it off with the girls I'm trying to replace her with. I lost my soulmate. Nobody matches up to her. Nobody makes me feel the way she did. I treated her so bad. I didn't appreciate her. This like a lifelong heartbreak. I don't think I'd ever stop thinking about her or missing her

it’s true. nobody is here to save you, only yourself. i put others before me and now look at me. crying my fucking eyeballs out because of how foolish i am
I remember when I visited my grandmother in our small town, She dropped some serious wisdom on me. She said "Grandson, one day some people will waste their time reading your comment.
@@souldeep2549 I usually think and know that some of the music today is crap with synthetic computerized instrumentation. No real instruments being played or vocals really being sung, but this album with it's catchy tunes and authentic and artistic instruments is Awesome.
@@souldeep2549 Absolutely!!! Your generation has soooo much talent....why disguise it with computers and technology. Feel the music in your soul and gut!!! You want to scream it out like Robert Plant ..... than scream it out!!!! You want to grunt it out like James Brown....Grunt it out!!!! Keep it raw!!!!

This album is so brilliant nothing can compare to this.. even his other albums.. I am not saying they are bad.. it's just this album really means to me.. really clicked to me..
To the person reading this, Good Luck! Don't stress, everything will be fine. No matter what difficulty you are facing right now, you can overcome it! You are strong and brave.🥰❤
The moment Nectar came out I was in a deep state of Depersonalization Derealization, the memories I have with this album is just playing about as I disassociate. It felt so comforting yet so sad.
