I'm pretty sure Dio respects Jotaro but he was the one which constantly foiled and killed him, his hate probably runs deeper for Jotaro than for Johnathan

I think its because Dio fucked Jonathan's life up, but its vice versa with Jotaro. Jotaro fucks him over, which is why he hates him more than Jonathan.

This actually made me realise how terrifying a duo of DIO and Jotaro would be. DIO could stop time, Muda muda and Road Roller da! the opponent, and while he is resting, Jotaro could stop time, OraOra the opponent then DIO stops time again. It would be a continuous barrage of time stops, unbeatable.
The translation is messed up, he actually says " "I don't feel any sense of friendship FROM you." meaning Jonathan doesn't think Dio is friendly and Dio is like "friendship is garbage" but I also like how he implies that Jonathan smiled at him.

Dio and Jonathan are like actual brothers when working together despire them both being enemies While the other encounters are literally grunting and cussing at each other
I like how Dio Brando and Jonathan had respect towards each other although Jonathan had more respect. You don’t need to like someone to have respect towards them
