This video is based on the idea of visualizing your approach when edge guarding as joker. It may not be the most stylish, but these strategies are EXTREMELY effective!

Btw i have never seen anybody talk about "limitations" You deminstrated how many times we can do a move off stage...and even showed different angles to Edge guard...im amazed by your videos

I really enjoy this. People need to make more videos like this. Edge guarding can be a bit of a difficult concept to learn on your own, since most situations aren't entirely the same. Edit: Also love how you added the visuals (those pink areas) to help others understand the situations better

In regards to gimping Joker, rainstorm is consistent if they recover low. So long as you catch them low enough, unawares, or without a double jump, the weak hit of rainstorm will knock him out if tether. There also seems to be a small time limit before Joker's tether can resnap ledge after he's been knocked in hitstun. Having played the ditto a lot, this edge guard is very consistent, and having had it done to me when I know both how to avoid it and the best way to escape it, it still works very well.

DiverseStyle Lol me too I use to always fall to my death with gun not knowing why I kept falling into the blast zone . I now know that there is a certain amount of bullets/rotations you can do lol.

Great video!! The only thing you forgot to mention is how joker can deal with horizontal recoveries, for example at 2:22 wolf could have done a Side B angled downward to get to stage safely. But it was a really good video, keep up the good work

Let me tell you, the release of Joker has done a fantastic job of teaching me not to burn my double jump earlier than necessary when recovering. 😒 If you are playing Cloud/Marth/Belmonts/etc. against Joker, make sure you are considering airdodge toward the stage as an option for the first thing you do when trying to recover from horizontal knockback, instead of double jumping out of hitstun. It is way harder get gimped when recovering low if you keep your double jump and try to avoid using it before up-B/tether unless absolutely necessary, since you can get hit out of your recovery move and still have your double jump afterwards.

I think most of Joker’s kills are going to come from edge guards / ledge traps or Up Smash reads. His kill confirms are mediocre if I recall, but the edge game is phenomenal.

Needed this, was legit just wondering the criteria for making it back when shooting downwards offstage, as I had varying success with doing so consistently. Also was looking for more options in general and knowing when to use them is great. Quality stuff, thanks man.

i believe yes you can to an extent but even tho you can recover from lower, doesnt exactly mean that you can go lower too, just because moves may have too much lag and you will touch the blast zone before you even get a chance to use your up B, maybe with fair and bair. but nair dair and the gun spins are too laggy i think

sorry i'm not even knew at this game but i dont get the jumping mechanics. how is it that 1:15 he can jump off ledge, then still JUMP back air and jump again?? Don't you just get 2 jumps? Isnt that 3 jumps right there?
