Interesting character, Oscar level acting, high quality cinematography and directing based on the trailer, a very solid supporting cast. If the story and script are anywhere near the level of that stuff, it will be a legendary film. I'm a little too hyped rn.

In the beginning: Wearily trudging up the stairs, trying keep up with the rest of society. At the end: Happily descending the stairs into madness.

The Joker is back! I love the feel of Gotham, his Joker will honour the history. Sorry Leto.

Joker is the hero in this story and I love that aspect. The trailer never shows him doing bad things. Just bad things happening to him.

Getting some mad King of Comedy vibes (With DeNiro, maybe a little homage there?) and Taxi Driver (also DeNiro lol). So glad that this looks to be treated as a character film before super hero movie, and it honestly doesn't need that flair. Phoenix is looking really good.

Arthur Fleck isn't the real Joker. In the Wayne's murders scene you can clearly see that the guy is not Arthur. That guy is shorter and also have shorter hair and the voice is not the same too. Arthur Fleck was the inspiration for the real Joker. Also The real Joker and Bruce Wayne are about the same age. But in the scene at the Wayne's mansion when Arthur puts a smile on Bruce, Bruce is a child and Arthur is an adult so Arthur can't be the real Joker.

This is the most hauntingly beautiful trailer I've ever seen. I'm feeling a bit of Twisty the Clown from "American Horror Story: Freak Show" here. Same as that, he's terrifying but I have a feeling I'm going to weep for him.

It’s pronounced WA-KEEN. It’s a SPANISH name and pronunciation. His birth name was Leaf, and he’s River Phoenix’s younger brother.

Also, the song is sung by Nat King Cole, but was originally written by Charlie Chaplin, and Chaplin was really not a nice guy.

My personal opinion is I don't care for his make up, keep it original! I hope this is not how it is going to look once he takes on the persona of the Joker? As far as his laugh is concerned I know you all like it but I've herd better laughs as far as the joker is concerned! It sounds almost like he is trying to laugh thru his nose, it needs to be a little semi high pitched instead but it's just my opinion and unless there is something that really sticks out with going to see this movie, I'll just wait?

Had this crazy thought after watching the new Joker trailer. Because it's a standalone movie, wouldn't it be a dark twist in the narrative if the Joker actually murdered young Bruce Wayne instead of his parents? Then Gotham would never have a Batman to protect it. What's worse than actually killing Thomas & Martha Wayne, how about destroying their lives by killing their son.

I like this sad clown direction they're going with. I love that he has to force himself to smile. At 1:20 he knows social dynamics call for him to laugh at the punchline of a joke, so he awkwardly tries to laugh, but you can tell it's completely fake by his shifty eyes. I love that, instead of his mind just snapping, it seems like he is going through a gradual descent into madness, wich is far more interesting to witness. The trailer alone shows that he really takes his mother's words to heart and that due to his mental illness he really becomes obsessed with the idea that his purpose is to bring laughter and joy to the world. You can tell that it was the only concept he can identify with after his mental break. Also, considering their duality, the fact that he tries to put a smile on a young Bruce Wayne's face at 2:00 is genius! Many actors can make you empathize with their roles but Joaquin Phoenix has this uncanny ability to make you feel an actual connection to his characters. Judging by the trailer, this movie has the potential to transcend the comic book movie genre.
