Despite the abuse between them , they do love each other. Joker loves Harley , in the birds of prey he broke it off “officially” with her due to the fact Harley Quinn is someone he does care about , which in turn in a weakness and the joker doesn’t want any weaknesses . It’s sort of sweet and sick at the same time .

I agree that he really loved her very much and was never loved and was afraid of this feeling, because this feeling somehow manipulated him in the sense that his love for Harley was stronger than the Joker himself and he did not know the feeling that he was supposed to protect her in He saved her in the suicide ward, he sacrificed himself for her, he loved her, he couldn't really cope without her, even in one deleted scene from the suicide ward, he couldn't find socks, he was just as broken as she wasn't there and you can see it in the movie. suicides, he couldn't help but save or help her, you know why, because he loves her

And with the new pictures of the 'Ayer Cut', you see that Joker hold a gun to his head and he look desperate. ^^ And that he throw her out is not a situation that's new :D In other media and comic he did that really often. Most time if she is 'too much' for him at that moment. To throw her out ist most of the time an overreaction to a argument situation and he regret it later. But she have to came back for her own. Because Joker want that SHE wants to be there. And for me that is a big difference to other 'abuse relationships'.

@@Martyna741 hate it. Harley isn't even a comic character, her first appearance was in Batman the animated series and Joker was abusive towards her. Yet, WB marketed them as romantic and have children wishing they had a joker in their lives. Disgusting. I hope the new joker from 'The Batman' get a Harley and their rlshp isn't romanticized

@@aanyamallick7747 yes you are right in comics and animated films he was terrible for her, he broke up with her and came back to her because her and so it was over and over, but the movie is so normal, i.e. the Suicide Squad, shows that the Joker was completely different for Harley, he saved her every time she was in trouble, he also did it in comics, but in them he used it and in the film you could see something else, but we must know that comics and movies are two different things and we cannot rely only on comics, of course they too cool and I know comics that are really very good but really only a comic called "White Knight" was still good because it showed a different side of the Joker who was trying to change.

I just wish they'd make a timeline where they're mad love was how it was. There's so many different universes that there has to be one where they truly loved each other so madly that they truly cared about each other. I'd love to see one where Harley teaches him love and compassion whereas Joker brings out the ruthless and malicious side of Harley, almost like the two sides of how a relationship can be. The loving and sweet side and the ruthless stop at nothing protectiveness as well, but I doubt that will ever happen. Also, tbh, I love the IvyxHarley dynamic and would love to see more of it! Who says there can't be different universes and story lines?

One of my biggest issues with Suicide Squad is that they make Joker seem like he actually had feelings. Yeah he mentioned he loved her once in the comic but then he blast her into space and turned her into a constellation because he said those feelings were too distracting. In his words She had "the best seats in the house"

Remember Harley Quinn came from the BATS Cartoon 1st where Joker was soften by her so Joker could be in a kids TV show. Joker had her picture on his desk for a reason. Harley Quinn to the Joker is one of the greatest things in his universe until Punchline came along that is. Punchline loves the Joker for his work ethic & ideas. Harley Quinn loved him deeply for just being him. You can't buy that type of love & Joker knows it.

I choose to believe Harley ain't dead. In the original justice league she was still alive but now in the Zack Snyder's justice league she is apparently read but they now can't change the hole storyline of dc since Harley is in suicide squad 2 unless she dies but I doubt that
