I hate that this version of them broke up. The comics version is very one sided and she finally comes to her senses and that is awesome. But this version he was just as obsessed with her as she was him and iam all about a romance that is just fire and chaos. It didnt make sense that he dumped her. In suicide squad he was devoted to her.

Shari Blanchard don’t worry I feel the exact same way too the Harley Quinn movie would have been better with joker in it tbh and they were supposedly making another suicide squad movie and joker was supposed to be the main villain but 1 because of the new director they are kicking Jared Leto out as joker as I heard which is retarded tbh:) and 2 corona stopped the filming

I understand where you are coming from, but the way I see it, he wasn’t obsessed with her. It was about what he owned. He wanted to own Harley and by going after her in suicide squad he was showing that people can’t take his possessions, just like in the club scene. I think that the version of the break is just a switch. The joker ending it with her, allowed her the freedom to come to her senses.

@HARV K Completely agree. Their relationship was never good to begin with and especially in Suicide Squad. The only time their relationship actually worked out was in one comic where Joker was cured of whatever happened to him and he got back together with Harley because he realized how horribly abusive he was and wanted to marry her. In that comic though, he was super reluctant about proposing to her because he said “you deserve better” and she still took him back because she knew he was cured and with the meds he was taking him, he could stay that way permanently. That comic was my absolute favorite for their relationship.

The only reason they broke up in this universe is for several reasons- Jared got screwed over in Suicide Squad. Jared is working on a different movie. The studio wanted the abusive relationship. Not the sweet relationship we got. I seriously want them in a movie together. Maybe an entire movie series.

Crazy in Love! Sometimes I think the Joker changed her and gave her a chance. It was a toxic but beautiful relation for many people. Yeah it sucks they broke up but their entire relationship was her chasing after his affection and him using her. I like how in birds of prey they portrayed her as her own person not just his side piece. I think it was a huge step in showing how women do not need a man to be happy. Their love story is iconic yet unbelievably toxic and degrading. I loved how the new movie shows strong females without the need for men.
