JOLLY 3: The Best Worst Fan Game

Damn, it really took bro 2 years to make a review on the third Jolly game.

In my opinion, it's a great sequel to the original ! It is VERY flawed and I feel like chapter 2 is a let-down to chapter 1 yet I still think it's a cool experience, quite innovative and unique for the time it first released.

I played both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, and imo, Chapter 2 really blows 1 out of the water because the gameplay loop is actually fun. What I truly hated in 1 is taht you had no way of knowing which vent is out, then punishing you with Metal Chica for going too fast, all while juggling the other folks. This just feels like way too much punishment because the game wants to troll you: I gave up on night 5 after the game straight up cheated and killed me after doing everything perfectly fine because I was done with the game by that point and did not care. 2's gameplay loop felt much more solid overall and did not senselessly punish you for having flawed game decisions. Only problem I had with Chapter 2 was that the final segment with the free-roam was the only one of its kind, leading to some frustration because I did not know what to do constantly. I still beat it eventually and it felt really good, but man was it rough. Still, I commend the games for what they did. Awesome games and I recommend everyone try them.

I honestly love Jolly 3, i really enjoyed playing Chapter 1, and although i didn't like Chapter 2 as much, it was still good in my opinion.

You know, since these fan games were my first exposure to it, I constantly forget that Jollibee is a real world franchise.

i tried to beat night 4, but theres always animatronics huddling in your office, causing the gas machine or whatever to completely fail, metal chica exists, and the amount of things you need to fix in a short span of time is so overwhelming, definitly needs to be greatly improved

Jolly 3 Ch 1 & 2 are honestly fine. Still the best jolly game. I would love the game if it was toned down in terms of difficulty. And I'm talking about that typing minigame.

2:25 One Night at Flumpty’s (at least the 2nd) is what I would say, still holds up even by today’s standards. So, don’t forget this work of art.

I feel like chapter 2 is better than chapter 1, but the "after night" sections are really stressful in both games, I like more the "simple, but looks a bit complicated" kind of gameplay that the chapter 2 has and I really enjoyed it. Also, I THINK that IvánG took some inspiration in Portal 2 for stuff like, "Bring your daughter to work day", "Kevin (Cave) Johnson" and the ambiance of Jolly 3 remind me a lot of Portal 2.

Cheaper 1s fans can be made less terrible to deal with by monitoring the status of each of the fan’s integrities during downtime (which you get a lot of because when a robot comes into your room only one thing needs to be done to make them go away so it’s simple to clear the conga line that forms outside of your office with smart time allocation of refills to getting the robots out.) during the beginning of each fan reset period all fans have max integrity but only 2-4 will actually drain integrity at a rate that will knock out the ventilation, so you have to find out which cams have those “volatile” fans and memorize them. The closer to 2-3 bars of integrity they have the more likely the fans are to be the one that fails. The mini game’s in chapter 1 legitimately suck and are a blight on game design.

Hot take: I LOVED Chapter 2, and I think it’s the best Jolly game. I see why you don’t like it but honestly I love this game HOWEVER, the post night mini game does suck. Never enjoyed that one.
