check him out man. this shit comes too natural for him. he isn't known for his raps more so just his music in general but he can throw down bars when he needs to bruh which definitely helped him here on Sway
You'd be surprised as to the amount of people that don't know why artists come on to shows and don't spit "off the top" and spit a pre written track. Let me tell you why. They have an opportunity to come on a show and promote themselves, and album, mix tape, etc. So why wouldn't you use this opportunity to spit something great, usually something pre written opposed to a freestyle. So when I see negative comments about freestyle vs pre written it kinda irks me. I personally don't care if an artist can freestyle or not, if i like what they spit i will most likely check them out. Also judging an artist over how well he/she can free style is quite dumb.
That's why artists have written bars prepared strictly for opportunities to "go off the top" or just rip some beats for promotional purpose. This dude straight up spit lyrics from his releases album!!! Gotta have lyrics in the bag for these purposes...
+Ronald Steyn I know what freestyling is. its that he rap verses from his new album and its wasnt nothing special. check yo self before you wreck yourself
+Muzi N his latest album and the Definition man. first few listens I was iffy. My older bro was playing him in his car. The next day I starting listening to him again and listened to nothing else for the next two months

This is a verse from his album, fire. The Human Condition is definitely FIRE Album of the Year in my personal opinion. Better than or just as good as Views.
For everyone saying it's a written, of course it is! Replay the video and you'll see the part right before the 5 fingers of death where Sway literally asks Jon to rap his "New York Soul Pt. 2" over the 5 fingers of death because he likes the song so much. Sway literally asked him to do it lol Yall gotta listen yall. Either way, I agree. I would have preferred to see what he could have done with a new written, or non-written freestyle. I wonder why Sway gave him an exception. I think he would have done fine with freestyling.
just wanna say I've been a fan since Translations Through Speakers and my dude deserves all of this right now bro! he just dropped one of the most unique, beautiful and groovy albums I've ever heard and I couldn't be happier for him. he KILLED this shit man it's gonna be amazing to see this video blow up as well as his music career!
Fuckkk. Bellion on Sway??!! Jon you are moving up. If you have never listened to any of his songs. Do yourself a favor, he is a fantastic singer and producer. Additionally, hes an awesome dude. I had the honor to have him play his whole album in my living room the other day as he had a contest to stop in every state and visit his fans at their house. Hes a great dude with an even doper personality. Bellion is where it's at!
FINALLY HE IS GETTING THE ATTENTION HE DESERVES!!!!! Been listening to him since 2012 when he joined The Visionary Music Group. A true artist right here.
Lol him and Logic have been friends for a while now. They are both signed to VMG. They have 2 songs together, Logic- 24 freestyle and Jon Bellion 24 freestyle
Words can't express how happy it makes me to see him on Sway in the Morning! He's finally being heard. The fact that he ripped the 5 Fingers of Death is just a bonus. Motherfuckin' Jon Bellion ladies and gentlemen!
This dude is talented af I need to listen to his album I've been to listen to it first time I heard him was on welcome to forever even though he was singing I loved his voice his freestyle with logic quest and Castro was dope.
Not to sound crazy but did any one else see the white mist behind him when he is speaking about the angels!?!?!? 2:50 look back at it. Like so people can see!
He's promoting his album. He wasn't asked to do a freestyle off the top of his head. He's also more talented than half the people that come on this show, even if it isn't rapping.
I'm sure it has already been said, but for those who say "that sounded like a written verse" it is. It's all the lyrics from his song, "New York Soul part 2". Prior to him spitting the verses, sway asked of him to rap that specific song over 5 different beats. It wasn't a true freestyle, just a manipulation of his written verses over different tracks. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan, just clarifying before someone starts a comments fight for no reason.
