Looks great ... another red on that 6 wgt, great to see ! I noticed alot of folks use 8 wgts in Texas but, I was wondering as skinny as that water is if a 6 or 7 would spook less fish

I like the 8 for bigger flys and more range but the 6 is a joy to cast a lot... not so heavy. it does the job for sure.

I just got done stripping flex seal off the bottom of my 12 foot jon boat and jb welded the leaks. Cheapest floor will be that pink foam board covered with a thin rubber mat

Hey Ty, why this alum jon over the pelican? Or why the pelican over the jon? Where would you use one but not the other? Trying to get a small craft to do exactly what you do with this, and the pelican, because hauling two kayaks around is a pain.

weight is about the same. the pelican is up to 1000 now. used Jon boat 300. aluminum is stiff. a guy on the bow and a guy on back deck no difference.. the pelican has some flex to it. both great. get the job done. I just like aluminum.

It probably floats in 6 inches of water ... well done. All it needed was some elbow-grease ( and a respirator ).

my grizzle tracker 19' will float in 3" if we jump out... this 12' , coming in that day. I push poled it over 20yards of wet grass to get to a ditch !
