Richie appears to have lost a significant amount of weight, whether that was intentional or due to illness is unknown. His face is pale and gaunt. I sincerely hope he is well and taking care of himself. Congratulations Richie on your IVORS award! Your songs have affected people’s lives. @@cipiripi6644 Richie definitely looked unwell. I did see him at the Kentucky Derby. He had given an autographed guitar for a Charity Auction. They showed a clip of Ritchie with Larry Burkhead and DanielLynn (Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter). She wanted the guitar, but the bids got too high. When Ritchie heard that, he offered her guitar lessons and when Larry asked where, Ritchie invited them to Casa Sambora. He looked and sounded great.
He is quite a bit off here. Not the usual " one drink too many " off , ........get well Ritchie. Hopefully he is surrounded with the right people to get him back on track. God bless.
You people knocking Richie because he left Bon Jovi are a trip. Let’s see y’all go out on the road for 16 months at a time-twice- plus all the other extended tours they did- and see how long you make it. It won’t be 30 years like Richie did. That’s a lot of time away from your family and your home.
Richie needs to get his arse back in to Bon Jovi. As soon as he left I lost interest in them as I don't rate Phil X in this lineup. Not disrespect to him but Richie is the king of the strings with Bon Jovi.
@@lukea136 Not at all. Phil is technically great, but not in Bon Jovi. He lacks the soul and blues in his playing that Richie has in spades. Wrong guy for Bon Jovi in my opinion.
Nothing is ever Jon's fault, right? There is no way that Richie just refused to come on tour after he already participated in the first leg of that tour. I don't buy that there wasn't an argument of some sort. I just don't.
Richie is not anymore in the band because there is a lot of problems between him and Jon and maybe because Jon wants Phil X to play and give him an undeserved place. Richie is not more in the band because Jon is just thinking about sales and not quality respect and soul. Phil is not a good guitar player for bon jovi.
He's not in the band because he quit the band. Jon just writes because that's what he loves to do and if people like it he's pleased, it's not about money it's about passion. The media like to try and stir things up.
Richie is not in the band because something stepped between him and jon and that was drugs and alcohol...just remember we haven't seen him clean and sober for a few years in a row and in the other hand jon and guys look like they are in their 30s
I'm convinced Richie would still be in the band if they have toured a year later. 2014 instead of 2013. Ironically the way Jon paced the last tour was how Jon should've done it when Richie was in the band. IMO it was unprofessional from Richie to quit in the middle of the tour because you know how much depends on it but on the other hand I can understand him. When you're doing world tours for thirty years and you're a single dad your priorities change over time. Jon should have taken more time between records. In terms of songwriting, "What About Now" was the album Richie was least involved in because he was recording his solo album at the time, and I think he was more interested in that. I'm sure that after the band finished the tour, Jon realized the most how much Richie was missing.
