Richie, you are one of my favorites, you have a sweet soul and so down to earth. We love you and miss you. Always remember that you have people that really care about you and your well being. Life is short, take it and go with it, do what you love,,,,
they dont have to be the same, life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. they are working with what they have, with time they will get better with Phil X
Richie just seems to always beat around the bush when asked that question. He walked out on the band years ago and personally I would love to see them play together again but I'm not sad if it doesn't happen. Richie made his choice when he chased his solo career. Jon Bon Jovi has my respect, always. ❤
I feel sorry for Richie. He had a rough marriage, he needed to be with his daughter, and his past drug issues reveals he’s had trials and tribulations too deep and painful for him to talk about. His sense of self worth shouldn’t be based on returning to the band. They have moved on. His story goes deeper than being the lead guitarist for Bon Jovi.
He is not responsible for Heather Locklear being an alcoholic and addict. You can only be PARTIALLY talked into doing something one time - it's STILL A PERSONAL CHOICE. A PERSONAL CHOICE SHE MADE. Who do you suppose got blamed when Jon got a phone call from a friend of his daughter's telling him that his daughter, JON'S DAUGHTER, had OD'd right there at college and was en route to the hospital via ambulance? Jon's daughter MADE HER OWN CHOICE AS WELL. I'm an Alcoholic/Addict and have been cleaning and sober for 16 years. NOBODY forced me to drink and drug - NOBODY. I had the power to say NO, but CHOSE TO SAY YES. The ONLY person that can save an Alcoholic, Addict or both is THEMSELF. NO ONE CAN DO IT FOR YOU. YOU HAVE TL SAVE YOURSELF. Heather Locklear is an Alcoholic/Addict because she made those CHOICES HERSELF. Good grief. 🤨 ~ APRIL LIPKE
Alcohol he struggled with alcohol after his dad got cancer then his dad died and of course his divorce and Heather's breakdown he had to get himself sober so he could be there for Ava and Heather
We just need one more performance as a proper goodbye for the fans. But sadley, Jons voice issues are probably going to prevent it. It sucks that hes losing the one thing hes depended on the most in his life. Maybe we'll get lucky. A girl can dream
Yes, he is talking absolute bull. At the end of the day if he really wants to go back he needs to quit talking about it in public and ring Jon and ask him personally. Its as simple as that
So Richie says he will come back if Jon gets his singing voice back. I don't think Jon's voice will ever be able to sing the old songs like he did back then.
The door was closed for Richie a long time ago, in my opinion. Jon was pretty clear, concering a return : "I think he doesn't want to come back. " If you read between the lines, it is clear that he sees no place for the former guitarist
@lboog0907 Of course, Richie wants to come back. But I think what Jon was trying to indirectly say: "After what happened, I don't want him to return. Maybe we can be friends, but from the business perspective, I'm afraid I count on him anymore."
Maybe for a one-time thing like at Rock Hall of Fame, but I don't see that Richie is coming back to play permanently at Jon's side. Nothing against Phil X but I would also love for Richie to come back full time to the band
I love Richie and John . Richie should have been able to sing more soulos with John. Think about it if you carry that band have that band for all those years and you're not getting respect for that or maybe it was time for him to move on. Right now they can't get past their the egos thing going
@@medcop2001 I've watched many interviews and I have never seen Jon gave a negative word about Richie. Richie, on the other hand, uses so.ost every opportunity to give some backhanded comment about Jon.
The trust has gone as he let them down badly a couple of times. They've moved on and in reality, all he'll get is a couple of songs in a 'guest spot' when they play New Jersey or MSG. It's sad that he thinks it's all going to fall back into place for him and it's a real shame because he is still a fantastic guitar player, singer and onstage performer.
trust goes, everything goes with it. You can see from Jon's recent interviews he is done with Richie and has long moved on. Richie is only interested in returning because things are not working for him as a solo artist.
Richie didn't let anyone down maybe his exist wasn't perfect but when family needed him he had to go and if he did something before that it was his alcohol addiction which he also wanted to get under control
well lets see, richie has made no impact as a solo artist, bon jovi on the other handy is doing better. Richie wants to go back but Bon jovi has not asked him, so who really needs the other?
Hold on - Ritchie is saying he left because Jon couldn’t sing anymore? But Jon is saying it’s because Ritchie was too wasted to play? Ritchie has been absolutely smashed in every interview and appearance he’s done for the last 15 years… including this one!
That’s not why he left. Watch the whole interview- he wanted to be there for his daughter who he didn’t get a lot of time with due to their heavy tour schedules and Heather Locklear was struggling with mental health issues on top of that. Plus as he said in the documentary, he thought the band’s sound was getting stale and Jon had someone else come in to play a part on The Because We Can album that was meant for Richie. That might’ve contributed to his decision. Here he’s saying that he would play with them again if Jon’s voice got better but that’s not why left.
@@BayviewProperties-x4j First of all none of us have zero idea of what exactly is happening with the band behind the scenes, secondly it's not up to us, it's up the guys if they want to work with him again.
He got his voice back (mostly) despite Richie's doubts, recorded an album without inviting him. After 11 years i guess its time for the fans and mostly Richie to realise that, no reunion will happen.
What’s the point. Bon Jovi, from debut through These Days , had their power years and blessed our ears and hearts with memorable music. They went downhill sharply afterwards. The song writing became weak and music watered down. The days are gone, leaving sweet memories. Why try revisiting that now Jon has lost his voice, which was the driver for the band. Leave greatness alone! Don’t taint our nostalgic hearts with atrocious live performances and music written to accommodate destroyed vocals!
Started of ok in this interview by the end he was slurring his words and acting weird....looks like he's back on the drink...no way he's getting back in the bon jovi
Basically, the only source of information back in the day until the doc series was that he left bcs of personal issues, which was raising his daughter. In the doc series it was revealed by Sambora that he left intentionally cus they’ve made the whole WBNow album without his participation. Shanks played all the guitar parts, the guy was obviously shocked. Jon’s part of the story is that Richie had more issues than his daughter which was drug addiction, alcoholism etc… didn’t show up on preps, reherseals, shows and on.
Richie walked out on the band in the middle of the night, while they were on tour, year's back. No explanation, no word at first as to why. The band had no clue at first until they were set to go out on stage hours before. They had to get a replacement, fast. Richie made it known to the band (some time after) he wasn't going to return. Richie got his chance at his long awaited solo career. In my opinion, I saw it as he used the band to make a name for himself, and then took the chance to leave. Jon always supported Richie when it came to Ava, Richie's daughter. They were best friends. And after all this time Jon can forgive Richie, Richie thinks still that he's better than Jon and doesn't really want anything to do with the band. These interviews he makes himself look like the victim. I love Richie don't get me wrong but he continues to throw Jon under the bus in every interview.
@@lisamazz7354 trust goes, everything goes with it. You can see from Jon's recent interviews he is done with Richie and has long moved on. Richie is only interested in returning because things are not working for him as a solo artist.
He's just making an excuse let's face it he screwed the band and now blames Bon Jovi for his S#@ty way of leaving. I'm all for him leaving and do other things but for him to leave like he did and then not talk to his band mates for years issue disrespectful. Also Bon Jovi never disses Richie but he always make it seem like Bon Jovi is the reason for his departure. Not sure why Richie gets all the love and Jon gets all the vitriol?
Coudnt agree more Jon always gives credit to Richie but Richie acts like it was all on him he is just trying to stay relevant . You don't need to like any of the stuff without Richie but their still selling out stadiums world wide with number 1 albums with no Richie and all Richie is doing is bitching about Bon Jovi and making out it's his songs and his hard work and yet he is doing nothing and his new music is pretty mediocre at best
@@ninaquintana2876 because Richie never acted arrogant or bitter and when did Jon trash him like he does about his voice and never explains why he left why he did.
Jon was clear about Sambora. He said he can join the band and sing the song or two. No more. He is not a part of the organisation and you had more than 10 years to accept it. Jon sold out two huge stadium tours without him. His concept was to become some kind of solo artist. Documentary showed that Sambora was replaced when he was a part of the band. Why would Jon let him back again? He will not earn more cash, will not be more happy, will not sing better. There is no purpose to do it, even if a few random people on the internet want it.
Well to be fair RHCP and Dream Theater fired Josh Klinghoffer and Mike Mangini respectively to get Frusciante and Portnoy back. Doing the same with Phil and Shanks is always a possibility as unfair as that would be. Then again, they’re a seven piece band now so maybe looking like slipknot as an eight piece can bring back the rock sound.
Jon does not want him back, watch his recent interviews. its clear as daylight. if richie was making it as a solo artist he would not be sitting here talking of going to play with them. its because things are not working for him so he needs the Bon jovi machinery and its light to shine on him again in big stadiums and arenas he cant fill himself.
That money is not your downfall? That's why Richie Sambora has sold the catalog, and that's why he wants to return to BON JOVI, don't be fooled by this drunk.
Jon will take Richie back because Jon was exposed without him. Richie is right saying throat surgery is the wrong move because the voice is a muscle that only needs rest and it will heel on its own. Take a year off... His fans will still be here in 2026. And so will Richie.
It amazes me Richie knows more than professional doctors . He doesn't know anyone who had it successfully well shania Twain did and she made a full recovery but let's all listen to the guy that spills lies just to stay relevant
richie left 11 years ago, Bon jovi has moved on. why is richie still even talking about bon jovi. is he not solo artist now? he should concentrate on his work and leave jon alone to deal with his voice and the band which richie has not been part of since 2013.
well if he did all that, then he should be able to do same as a solo artist, but strangely enough, he has made no impact with his music whatsoever since he left the group
Listen to him, he's not coming back until Jon hits the high notes as he wants...well, he doesn't ask himself, Jon still needs him, a drug addict and a notorious drunkard who in his last public outings (on the post of the singer) roared like a cow in the mount? And he is not even among the first 100 guitarists in the world! If Jon didn't take him in the band, nobody knew about him! Goodbye Sambora, most of us don't want you anymore either! Phil x is the Man!
I'm hoping both Jon and Richie work this out..nothing against Phil X but Bon Jovi isn't Bon Jovi without Richie Sambora. Their song writing has suffered since Richie left. Forgettable music and lackluster performances..let's get Richie back.
