I love me some Coach Gruden, but everyone knows he inherited a NASTY ASS Defense that was engineered by Tony Dungy (who also had enormous assistance from defensive wizard Monte Kiffin). That amazing "Tampa 2" defense was NOT Gruden's original idea. He was smart enough to walk into that situation. Tony Dungy and Monte Kiffin created a defensive monster that could operate on its own. And Gruden came in to manage the offense and make sure they didn't f*ck it all up. And Gruden should get credit for that, as well. It's not every year that BRAD JOHNSON is your Super Bowl Winning Quarterback. Because Gruden and the awesome defense inherited from Dungy/Kiffin helped a mediocre QB like Brad Johnson get through that season without mindlessly walking into traffic and getting hit by a bus.
