Jon Hurwitz Responds to the Cobra Kai Season 6 Backlash 

Sometimes people just like to binge watch the whole show, that's what I did with earlier seasons. I'm not in a hurry to finish the series with Season 6.

I'm ok with the 3 parts thing. The only problem is that the show will lose its hype cause it's 3 separate parts with a long distance from each other and if netflix won't market it well people would forget about it same thing happened to amazon with invincible

I don't mind the 3 parts like it gives you time to watch every episode in the 3 parts. Like, I watched all 10 episodes of Cobra Kai season 4 in 1 go I started at 7pm and didn't finish until 3:30am cause I didn't want to go on social media to get spoilers. Great video Drew as always! 🐍🦅

Happy we are getting some shows so soon. Initially thought we would be waiting until next year to see Season 6 so July came as a really nice surprise. Some people want to have their kar and ate it too.

Releasing these episodes at different times has been happening with other shows for awhile now. I bet each last episode will be a cliffhanger. Me personally i rather have all 15 and avoid all spoilers as much as possible, i have done it with other seasons before

Binging all the episodes as they release and pulling an all nighter has been my CK ritual since season 2. I'm honestly sad it's gonna release in multiple parts. I would much rather wait until it's 100% complete

I kind of like it. Hypothetical: episode 5 ends with Terry Silver coming back and we have 4 months to talk about. Julie Pierce appears in episode 10 and we have a few months to talk about it

For me I don't mind 5 now and then yes in November the final 10 which is 15.

Great Video Cobra Kai Kid can't wait for the final season of Cobra Kai I think releasing season 6 into 3 parts is better than releasing all 15 episodes at once because it gives us the chance to say goodbye to the characters, Actors and Actresses as well as the TV Show but hopefully they will make a Prequel series, Spin Offs series and follow up series in the future

It depends on how long the episodes are if it’s short then I’m just waiting till everything comes out

But I know I think you're all right when it comes to the spoilers that's why it's good to do it slowly slowly until it's there hopefully not February hopefully the beginning of January cross our fingers. 🤞 It's up to Netflix correct.

I like your show and I appreciate your enthusiasm for it, but as you are aware I have been quite vocal about the fact that I am a staunch believer that this show should have ended at the conclusion of Season 5. When all the prior seasons ended, there was a hook that we were waiting for at the conclusion of each Season in anticipation for the next (Kreese returning to Cobra Kai at the end of Season 1; Miguel being nearly killed or crippled at the end of Season 2; Kreese calling for reinforcements at the end of Season 3 and Miguel looking for his dad at the end of Season 4 (which I will admit came off as a half-baked idea that really went nowhere, even though it presented some possibilities). There was no cliffhanger at the end of Season 5-Silver gets beat up; Tory and Sam are frenemies; Miguel and Robbie evolve as stepbrothers and Carmen and Johnny wind up in domestic bliss). As for Kreese escaping at the end in James Bondian fashion by faking his own death-well, he would have been released anyway as Stingray recanted his false confession (Stingray himself should be arrested for perjury). The Sekai Tai Contest was a casual mention in a flashback during Season 5, and it had no bearing on the final episode of Season 5 or on anything that happened that Season. Unlike the prior Seasons, when Season 5 ended there wasn't much discussion about what would be happening in Season 6, in that most if not all of the character story arcs had been successfully reconciled at the conclusion of Season 5 (unlike the end of Season 2-Is Miguel going to live? Is he going to be crippled? Is Robbie on the run as a fugitive etc.) My guess is that Season 6 will be a disappointment for most fans-not bad mind you (like the disastrous Season 3), but more of a sense of being anti-climactic. I have the feeling that the fans will be more than a little let down after having to wait for new episodes since Season 5 dropped September 2022 (which is nigh on close to TWO full years ago) There has been a foreshadowing of problems for this Season, namely the writers' strike and now this mini trilogy for the conclusion of the show. While that in and of itself is not bad, the fact that the fans have to wait three to four months for each Chapter to drop is doing them a disservice. What I think would be a good idea is just wait a little longer and to prolong the last season, release them maybe in September but one episode a week over 15 weeks. Think about it. Filming is wrapped and the first 5-episode Chapter is ready to go on July 18, 2024. How about waiting to September and then start with an episode a week. I think that will give the final season the continuity and longevity it deserves before the show concludes. This stop/start mentality of giving the fans just a little at a time over three-month intervals could backfire. By the time each interval drops, the fans are going to have to go back and review each prior sequence release just to refresh their recollection as to what happened before viewing the next 5-episode sequence. Maybe that is how the producers planned it. However, in deference to the fact that the fans have waited almost two years for this Season to drop, they shouldn't have to earn the right to view this Season either by being forced to do "homework". We'll see.

I hate the way they’re releasing season 6 in 3 parts. Your telling me they couldn’t just release the whole season on say, Thanksgiving or Christmas? 5 episodes just isn’t enough to satisfy almost 2 years of a break. I’d be fine with 5 episodes in July and then the rest of the season on thanksgiving. Or give us the first 10 episodes in like October, then the final 5 episodes in 2025. 5-5-5 is just too dragged out for my taste.

I don't mind the three part release honestly. The only criticism I have is having is extending it all the way till next year. Josh has already said that it is meant to be watched in 5 episode increments, and I'm good with that. But, does it really take THAT long to edit and polish the last episodes? Three parts ending in December? Totally would be good with that. Ending next year? Hmm...

Hardcore Crazy Obsessed Psycho Cobra Kai fans like Drew, myself, and many others Need It NOW, but are also totally depressed at the thought of the show ending and this being the Last Season. It's perfect this way because we get some episodes Now. Get to rewatch the episodes and enjoy talking about it afterwards... Go on channels like this and Watch Party sharing reactions and predictions. Then the same thing 2 more times for 2 other episode releases. It prolongs the End of the Greatest show of all time. Stretching it and knowing theres more episodes next year allows for the Cobra Kai experience to last longer and helps ease the pain of not wanting it to end. We all know the whole."All good things must come to an end". I really appreciate the fact that they are doing this for us. I look at it as a Gift. It won't end abruptly just like that and we can take it all in over the course of the next 6-9 months. Anyone who wants all 15 episodes now quickly all at once probably isn't as obsessed as Drew or myself and doesnt get it. Think about it...really... Makes it last longer for us. Maybe, in a way it's like getting an extra season knowing we get episodes in 2024 and episodes in 2025. More YT Videos. More Discussions. More Trailer Releases. More time for Suspense and Predictions. The whole experience lasts longer. What is life going to be like without watching Cobrai Kai Kid and Watch Party videos? I think I made my point.
