@@Elinox696 absolutely. Seeing good leadership and how much the team bonds with each other and look up to their coach is the whole point of the show I feel. The drama lessens how special it is. It just winds up making everything seem idk, darker than it has to be?
@@reekyfartin True, but to be fair, some season were ruined by the fighters, not the coaches (First few for sure, a bunch of undisciplined, destructive drunks lol)
@@Elinox696bro how can anyone say that, watching Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen 1v1 in fucking excavators is the most entertaining thing I’ve seen in a while lol
I'd disregard the supreme dedication part - well documented his coke binges and parties before big fights. He is god-like when it comes to fighting though
@@user-ks3mk9kq4lman he was a ncaa champ in wrestling😂 smd youngest ufc champion he has always been supremely dedicated shit his 2 brothers were in the NFL
@@jackl7778I dont believe Jon was taking steroids because that does not make you a better fighter. If Jon was taking steroids then everyone in the ufc is
Chael is truley the champions champ. Becoming good friends with his biggest fan, Jon Jones, to then realize, in their fight, how badly he was hurting Jon's elbows with his legendary "face to elbow" technique. Seeing how he probably would have shattered the younger mans will to fight again he let him keep the belt. Truley amazing.
I cried reading this bro, the champions champ, undefeated, underextended and the only one to rise after death after Jesus H Christ himself... CHAEL H SONNENNNNNNNNNNNN.
I love that the respect was so high in the season that even though they wanted to dislike each other they just couldn't. The way chael challenged jon in the bowling. The way they handled the wild card pickings just extremely respectful.
I feel like Jon's emotional intelligence really shined through in this show. His focus on encouragement and bringing his puppy and trying to create a family or brotherhood atmosphere was really well done. So many facets to Bones imo
@@TrainWithCaleb he explained his reasoning... and his emotional intelligence isn't his issue. Pretty lazy comment Caleb. Please step it up. We need you.
"I know what a human skull feels like like the back of my hand cuz i've elbowed so many ppl in the face......elbows stop the fight, when ppl get elbowed in the face and they havent seen their own blood before, half the battle is won already." Jon just being cold.🥶
@@Eyeofthetiger69 f😂ck outside the octagon. What do you expect from the greatest fighter ever. People have this assumption that pro fighters are going to be perfect humans outside. Of mma. Yeah some do. And some don’t. That’s how it is.
seeing the way Jones reacts to losing at bowling and seeing how McGregor reacts to losing at throwing a watermelon really gives a great insight on what being a champion truly means in the fighting world.
I think what makes Jones so great is the mental side. He will never like you as long as your in the UFC at LHW or HW. Edit: I should add I think it makes him great because he'll never lack motivation(use that dislike or even hatred to dismantle his opponents)
@@KDTtheoneMichael Jordan was the same; A lunatic always looking to take it personal so he can be motivated to completely crush, hurt and humiliate his opponent but he did good holding it together in his personal life. People with those mentalities are just scary when they focus in on something.
His KO of Adam is definitely what started the trajectory his career ended up taking. Guy had a lot of potential, but unfortunately was just too nice of a guy for the sport. He got too gun shy after TUF...
There's a lot more to these guys and their stories than people see on TV or other media. Uriah Hall was fighting very skilled and very tough opponents for a long time. I'm sure he was hurt many times and we know that he hurt other people badly. What we know is only part of it. The wars that happened in training rooms go unnoticed by civilians. That is a whole lot to expect any person to go through and there are always things a person cannot control.
@@shannonsteven3982 I think he just wasn't that good lol, people always bring up that Adam fight but Adam was an amateur fighter and not elite like the competition Uriah ended up facing
John Jones did a tremendous job as a coach, some times he was leading, sometimes he was guiding, and always was pushing those guy. Really enjoyed this season.
I swear when he picked Bubba over Clint cos there boys and Bubba got eaten by Urial Hall that worse even worse cos he didn't learn his lesson the first time 😂
Jon was a really good coach. I think Jon should really get into coaching even now as there is nothing that helps a man positive and happy when having underlings they are responsible for. Jon clearly has so much knowledge at a young age, imagine how much more he knows now.
My favorite one together with the Conor and Faber one because they had great chemistry and low key really liked each other, same as this season with Jon and Chael, Jon was coming in not really liking Chael but ended up kinda liking him because he started to understand his trolling and trash talk and thought he Was hilarious lmao the entire of them both with Joe Rogan and the 'I'm better than Jon Jones I'm bettet than sean colmbs i am even better than jon holmes' or some shit lmaooo even in that Interview Joe Rogan said to Jon it seems like he actually likes Chael and Jon Response 'You know what Chaels not too bad' and ended up laughing his ass off at chaels talking there😂😂
It’s crazy that Jones was amongst the junger ones, he coached this Season at just Age 25. That’s a lot of responsibility at such a Young age and that’s just one of the Reasons he is the GOAT in MMA.
Can't believe they allowed Chael publicly executing Jon Jones to be on youtube like this. Fortunately Chael felt bad so he resurrected Jones and even let him hold his belt. True GOAT.
This brings back so many memories for me. I was training with Brandon Vera when this season was airing, and I remember walking into a team meeting (one of our team had a big fight coming up) and giving this prep talk that Jon gave to his team on TUF, I completely plagiarized him and it fired the whole team up. 😄 Also, I had heard how Jones was this nice guy that turned into a killer into the ring, he was going to try to hurt you for the sake of winning, no matter what it took. This series really give you and insight on that. He cared about everyone around him and drew energy from them, but if you were in his cross hairs, your knees and and your skull were going to take a beating. Ten years later and it's crazy to me that Jones is champ again.
Deep down you can tell Chae had the utmost respect for Jon and he also knew he didn't have a shot in hell at beating him so there was no point at faking animosity.
Jon Jones grew up in an extremely competitive household. He has a family full of athletes. Losing was never an option growing up. It makes sense how he reacted to losing against Chael in bowling.
Jon’s an amazing coach he’s very emotionally intelligent and speaks very clearly and also he’s got a teachable style due to his well roundedness. It genuinely suprised me
The best part about this seaosn is how resistant chael and jones are of liking eachother. Jon so badly does not want to be friends with chael but just cant help but like him ahaha
" I know what the human skull feels like like the back of my hand because i have elbowed so many people in the face" legit one of scariest things I've heard from Jon
"As long as I believe in you, you've got nothing else to worry about my friend." Except for a flying knee maybe 😅 But really I like Jon being that encouraging. That can mean a lot I feel
Dude it’s brutal seeing the build up for it too. Mentally he’s been scared of Uriah the second he first saw him. He hoped someone would beat him so he wouldn’t have to fight him.
I think this was my favorite season of TUF. Jon and Chael showed lots of class and did a fantastic job as coaches. Fighters did amazing too. Love how little bullshit drama was on this season compared to most seasons. Uriah Hall was something else to see too 😳
He should have been WEC champion which was still legit and Zuffa owned but Paulo Filho missed weight rendering it a non title fight. Apparently he still sent Chael the belt which was nice of him lol.
Jon Jones comes across as a simple hard working fighter. just gives it his all and when he feels like he has hit the wall, he says NOPE! and simply smashes through it and keeps going. Love that Unstoppable force ethic. Im sitting at the computer and I feel like I want to go down stairs and hit the weights lol.
I absolutely love chael, he is one of my favorite fighters both in and out of the cage. I’m just finally so happy he won something😭 even though he’s undefeated
The testament to Jones' longevity is the fact both his opponnet Chael and Chael's student Hall are retired, while Jones is still a champion. Remarkable.
I mean, they're both older than Jones. Chael has over a decade on Jones, and a career spanning over 20 years. Jones was the youngest champion of all time, and at this point very early in his career, so it makes sense that he'd still be competing after the other guys retire.
@djvernski2049 Yup, and he's already floating retirement after his next fight. Chael retired at 42 after a 22 year career. Jones has another decade before he matches the true GOAT in terms of career longevity 😆
There's just something about Jons Aura that reads "Split" like.. interacting with humans and looking good on camera is an actual act. idk i just permanently get that vibe anytime he's nice. The person he is in the ring, is who he really is and sometimes Gladiators shouldn't be anywhere else but the arena.
