The genuine animosity between these dudes was so palpable that I still think this is the best rivalry in the history of the sport. At least for now, I think there will be some more great ones in time, but this one is just so raw and real I love the actual hate between the two of them during this time it made the fight so much more important than it already was.
I think you could argue this one as being the most hate fuelled rivalry before McGregor vs Khabib happened. Nothing comes close to the levels of intensity that their animosity for one another generated during the whole build up to the fight, the fight itself, and even after the fight.
@@Legend-xf5bl I would say that’s fair because the animosity between khabib and Connor went so far as to actually make khabib lose his cool which never happened before or ever again after. He won the match but we all remember him flying over the cage to chase down Dillon Danis lol. Jones and DC were able to call it quits for the most part. I mean i think they still hate each other a little bit but it’s far more relaxed comparatively to Connor vs khabib.

We're all hoping these two come full circle and spend some time chatting - in every sport in which elite rivals have made up, it has spawned some of the most interesting insights because the rivals inevitably realise that they're actually quite alike in many ways and nobody else understands them like the rival does.
