@MALONEYCAMFIELD

@@susanford2388 Douglas Camfield and Maurice Colbourne also spring to mind in that industry. Compared to the first two Doctors. Hartnell and Troughton, Pertwee had a good innings, at least he got well into his '70s. Troughton was cycling around Oxford in the first episode of Inspector Morse less than a year before he died, so he seemed pretty fit for a bloke in his '60s.

Great interview. Love Jon Pertwee. He was my first Doctor. I've never missed Doctor Who since. It's a programme I have grown up with and still watch and will watch until I die. I'm 61 this year. Doctor Who is 60 in November. I just love it.

What a typical English Gentleman ! What ever happened to English and Americans with this type of class ? Everytime I see an old interview with somewon like him it reminds me of how much English Speaking culture has deteriarated. Our mainstram media has much to blame.

It's interesting that in this interview, Wogan already refers to Doctor Who as a show in the past tense when he makes the reference to Star Wars, when in fact Doctor Who was still on at this point and was only cancelled later in the same year as this interview.

@NikkiClo That's not fair at all. He is promoting the Dr Who stage play here and they do discuss Worzel Gummidge. Search Jon Pertwee on Parkinson in 1980 on here, again on the BBC, and they discuss Worzel Gummidge and don’t mention Dr Who once!
