@@fe5018 I know, I was devastated when he refused to be a part of McBusted but I am glad that Busted are back together. Even more happy that this gem is now in my life.
I can’t get over this. No one would have ever thought in a million years that busted or the Jonas brothers would get back together as bands and both did and now they actually played year 3000 on stage together. It truly is special 😍
F E busted was the most shocking reunion of all time, I thought they would have broke up again by now never thought Charlie would stick to it the way he has
He did one on Jonas Th show. It was a song about Scandinavian girl. That's the only time i heard kevin sing a full song on his own without being back vocals. I doubt he'll do it again
Bon Trany they didn’t steal their busted wrote the song for them no one said that they stole it the only reason why this song has so much backlash is cause the jb didn’t write it themselves it was written by another band they would be in trouble if they stole a song they’d never get away with it
@@Scsigs yeah but this is the british version that the people in the audience knew better, it made sense but it didn't stop people from being a bit confused
The Jonas brothers changed the lyrics around for their version, probably why the crowd were like wtf?! They were performing in the UK, they really should have kept to the Busted version for this one.
I'm here thinking did they not rehearse beforehand!??? 😂 But regardless they should've sung the ORIGINAL and not the watered down Jonas brothers version.
@@nathmendes24 You realize that the original lyrics, & even the Jonas Brothers' cover, aren't going for realism, right? And, anyways, that line was originally supposed to be a goal that they reached. Outselling Michael Jackson is an immense feat & to do that would be impressive. THAT'S why the original line worked better. Plus, y'know, the song's less dated. Everyone's gonna remember Michael Jackson's music for decades to even centuries. Not a lot of people are gonna remember Kelly Clarkson's.
@@Scsigs of course i know it's not going for realism. and i understand they're talking about extra improbable things like living underwater or outselling michael jackson. but still, i was JOKING about how weird it would be for busted to outsell michael jackson. which is hmm the whole point of the song. But maybe the Jonas brothers didn't want to seem too cocky about their chances so maybe that's why they said Kelly instead. Either way, i wasn't wrong and both lines in both songs are cool :)
@@nathmendes24 Love how you capitalized "joking" as if that was supposed to be obvious. Your original response also read as legitimately not getting it.
"doing fine" I love the confused looks they're giving each other as Busted sing the original lyrics whilst the Jonas siblings sing their censored ones.
@@zw_ncfc I'm not a millennial and I play 4 instruments. I also play trombone at Juilliard. The comment was a joke. Maybe it was a bad joke, but it was still a joke.
I’m glad they acknowledged it’s Busted song and this was the perfect way to do it! Busted should totally have their own set next year. Both bands are awesome ❤️
The brothers always acknowledged that its a Busted song. They've said it repeatedly for years, but it was like no one listened. They covered the song because they're huge fans.
@@shannonwerle7704 I think it was last week sometime (I could be wrong) that Nick even said James Bourne from Busted wrote it and it was their song. People are just bitter and don't think Busted got the credit, but whenever I've listened, they've given credit (I also don't listen to everything though, so maybe there were times they didn't).
@@valeries2037 I've been following the Jonas Brothers for over 13 years and I knew from the beginning that Year 3000 wasn't their song, even though I've never heard about Busted at that time.
Shannon Werle tbh I liked the Jonas Brothers back in the day but wasn’t a hardcore fan, I only knew them from Camp Rock and a few of their well known hits so I don’t know the ins and outs, but of all the things I had heard, I’d only known them of putting James in the credits of the song and one interview in the UK a few months ago and that was it. There may have been times where they’ve mentioned it but I haven’t seen it, I don’t doubt it, but I feel like it’s only ever in the UK. My comment just came from what I’ve known over the years: I’ve seen countless Americans who think Year 3000 was a Jonas Brothers original and that always just kinda annoyed me, as Busted have always been my favourite band. I’m not hating on the JoBros at all, they’re literally amazing. I’m just commenting from what I’ve seen, but I think this was an amazing thing and I loved seeing both bands together.
If anyone read SophieTurner elle article you would be amazed she blamed the jonas brothers for the split up of her actual fave band busted, so you can imagine she fan girled hard over this.
I like that they incorporated Busted's electronic sounds from their version of the song into the sound. They could've easily not, but they did & I thank them.
Kinda bummed they didn’t sing Busted version, I’d just about die if u heard Nick sing about triple breasted woman. I’m really need to look into Busted more the lead of the three had such a compelling voice
I love this so much. In my person belief, I don’t think the Jonas Brothers would be a big thing if it wasn’t for Busted. Not only did they let them re-record two of their songs, (What I Go To School For, Year 3000) but James Bourne has been writing songs for Nick since Nick was a kid. Remember Nicholas Jonas album that came out when Nick was like 12? There’s a song on there called Appreciate that James co-wrote and it’s such a beautiful song. Well, look where we are now. ❤️
People in the crowd: ... 👏 👏 Me: I TOOK A TRIP TO THE YEAR 3000 blah blah trip GOT MULTI PLATINUM EVERYONE BROUGHT our I think 7th album da da da da KELLY CLARKON
I didn't know which version i was singing along to, probably a mix of both lmao but BUSTED AND THE JONAS BROTHERS PERFORMING YEAR 3000 IS ICONIC srsly years ago i would've never thought that both bands would get back together, much less perform this on the same stage... the nostalgia just really hit me
Steph Hulme Busted’s version was better for you Brits but JB’s version was the more popular all over the world. JB is the bigger star. Their version of Busted’s song was already a tribute as it is.
@@HeloiseColas like girl DUH its on her friends ig and if you still don't believe me its on joe's when he shout her out "you ready soph". look at her outfit and how her hair is tied. (im clearly an ultimate stan here)
I’m not gonna lie having both trios on stage singing the Jonas cover together was total nostalgia overload We need a Jonas Bros and Busted Boys dust of the Jonas version of That’s What I Go to School For since that was Busted’s ofher biggest smash hit at the time
My friend was there and said there were loads of young girls around her the age of around 14/15 who had no idea who they were and honestly that makes me so upset! Busted were literally the band of my childhood!
Yeah but its been 17 years since the song came out. Do you know the hearthrobs and iconic songs from your mom and grandma's childhood? Sadly these things fade with time.
I know all the iconic songs from the 70s and 80s. I'm a 90s kid and love Busted; a lot of millennials know Busted too. Whenever songs like these come on in clubs, people loss their shit and yell at the top of their lungs, best bit of night outs. I think what's wrong is that a lot of people tend to listen to current music, rather than hark back and diversify themselves.
@@CaloiEmrys369 True. I mean, I was born late 90s and grew up through the 00s and Busted was very current then. I had an 80s phase growing up and as I got into my late teens I got really into 50s and 60s music and movies so I very much love music and culture from all years! I hope with new generations this music will continue to live on like it has done!
Tbh I think most young people hark back a considerable amount, just not in the way that I meant. The likes of Queen and Journey and Bon Jovi or Abba(even pre-Mamma Mia) or whatever, those bands and others like them live on continually in pop culture, same as Elvis, The Beatles, and and Billie Holliday along with whomever else. They're the "standards" that have stood the test of time from different eras and carried through. Every one enjoys them and can sing along on 80s or 60s or whatever decade theme nights or playlists. But how many know the lyrics to Donny Osmond songs that their mom (or grandma depending on your age) absolutely lived and died for? Or Kiki Dee. Or the Bay City Rollers. Or Rosemary Clooney. Busted are the equivalent (actually probably lesser known) to these, not the enduring icons that most people have access to and think of when they think of a specific decade.
Hopefully, this amazing performance will shut the Busted fans up now for thinking the Jonas Brothers don't acknowledge the fact that it's their song. They have, they always have, when I first heard them perform this years ago I remember it being stated it was, in fact, a cover. A cover which they got permission to do, and they've performed with Busted before. Fans need to chill out about covers, it's too much to fight for something even the very band doesn't give a shit about.
Ok but Charlie’s voice... I saw Busted live a few months ago for the first time in years and I truly appreciated Charlie’s voice for the first one in ages. One of the best out there honestly. Also this video was the best this to happen in my life honestly. I needed this 😂
One day when I came home at lunchtime I heard a funny noise Went out to the back yard to find out If it was one of those rowdy boys Stood there was my neighbour called Peter And a flux capacitor He told me he built a time machine Like the one in a film I've seen Yeah, yeah He said, "I've been to the year 3000 Not much has changed But they lived underwater And your great, great, great granddaughter Is pretty fine Is pretty fine" He took me to the future in the flux thing And I saw everything Boy bands, and another one, and another one And another one Triple breasted women swim around town Totally naked We drove around in a time machine Like the one in a film I've seen Yeah, yeah He said, "I've been to the year 3000 Not much has changed But they lived underwater And your great, great, great granddaughter Is pretty fine Is pretty fine" I took a trip to the year 3000 This song had gone multi-platinum Everybody bought our seventh album It had outsold Michael Jackson I took a trip to the year 3000 This song had gone multi-platinum Everybody bought our seventh album Seventh album, seventh album He told me he built a time machine Like the one in a film I've seen Yeah, yeah He said, "I've been to the year 3000 Not much has changed But they lived underwater And your great, great, great granddaughter Is pretty fine She's pretty fine" Hey hey hey He said, "I've been to the year 3000 Not much has changed But they lived underwater And your great, great, great granddaughter Is pretty fine" He said, "I've been to the year 3000 Not much has changed But they lived underwater And your great, great, great granddaughter Is pretty fine She is pretty fine" He said, "I've been to the year 3000 Not much has changed But they lived underwater And your great, great, great granddaughter Is pretty fine"
At first I was like “Busted is the name of the festival?” And then these guys appeared and I was like “oh they are Busted!” And then I read the comments and found out this is not a JB song 😱😱
Think it really detracts from everything when the background band keeps playing after they leave and you realize it sounds EXACTLY the same despite there being 4 extra guitars on stage when they were still out. If you're not gonna play it, just don't play it. I get it a bit more for talk shows and stuff. But it might as well be lip syncing in my opinion.
Jo bros should respect the original song lyrics! Crowd sings pretty fine, they sing their version "doing fine." Even when the crowd sing pretty fine, they still refuse! You can tell Charlie was not happy with that, and I agree with him.
