Yesssss thank you i have been waiting for a video performance of jonas kaufmann in la boheme a long time. and I know that he’s has performed it before so I have no idea why there was no video of him singing until now
Ohh dear, the link says the video doesn’t exist 😢..I would love to see this production . I know many opera lovers consider La Boheme a cliche, but for me it’s is a timeless classic, I really don’t care much for modern opera commissioned by various political groups…most of them are just pretentious librettos with inferior music score .

I love both Jonas and Jussi Bjorling. I listened to both tonight. Jussi was a wonderful singer but, in this aria, he sounds as if he is merely singing a song, Jonas sounds as is he is truly the character, chatting up his lady. To me they are both wonderful, but one sings pure notes, the other means what he sings.

For the educated Opera fan they understand different voice production and styles. They will understand that we want to hear our favorites opera stars sing different roles that might not be perfectly suited for their voice, but we pay good money and fill the opera house to hear it. To the non educated or casual fan, they will be the hardest on the singer performing these roles outside of their specialty because they do not understand that the composer wrote for different types of voices when developing their music. Example would be, how many fans in the 80's were upset when Pavarotti started singing lower heroic voice roles that brought him away from the Bel canto lighter roles. Bottom line... take it easy on Mr Kaufman, people pay millions to hear him sing these roles in his Spinto darker hero voice, and we are just fine with that because we are NOT expecting to hear a Pavarotti High C!
I love his voice BECAUSE he sings these higher tenor roles with his richer more baritone voice. Most regular tenors do not have the control Kaufmann does on the high notes, especially when he drops back to the pianissimo.
@@shells500tutubo I thought I was a big fan of Pavarotti type of tenor voice , until I heard JK for the first time …I compared his voice to the phrase Tall , Dark and Handsome, which is associated with an attractive, seductive aura- the hint of dark chocolate and hot coffee plus the velvety flow set his voice apart from other tenors. I’m not a musician, I just listen to the sounds I love .
They have the Orchestra mic'd up to high and it thins out the high note. I have heard it better in other videos where he sounds more full with more volume. Still his a Darker Tenor singing a Lighter Tenor role and I'm okay with that.
Going back to Rodolfo after singing Otello is quite a challenge , but his high C is there even if less solar as he could do earlier on. Sorensen’s Mimi is fabulous.
다른 거 다 모르겠고 진짜 영화같긴 하다... 연기로 가사 다 보여주네.. 그냥 보이는대로 이해하면 그게 거의 가사니까... 용을 써도 안되는 아리아를 저렇게 아름답게 하려면 얼마나 고민과 연습이 있었을까.. 모르겠네.. 사실 기능적인 면 (하이c는 아쉽지만)은 100점은 아니지만 표현은 진짜 1등이다.
Певец должен петь партии подходящие для его голоса ! Он великий певец , но видимо деньги иногда важнее … Или просто доказать что может … половина арии спето mezzo voce , но тембр конечно особенный , великий тенор , но партия точно не его !
