i think it could add a little more squillanto to each interpretation, because with this voice setting it's more like a slightly lighter baritone. generally superb just let him sing the original and let him not add some of his pre-emotional implants because he spoils the charm of the original performance. I have noticed that in each aria there is something of its own that spoils the composer's original idea.

Listen to other tenors, including older performers: Pavarotti, Fisikela, Raimondi Carusso, Corelli, Gelda, Domingo, Yongxi Chen yung Chen Zhiyuan, Camarena and many other Italian French, also Chinese, or Russian or from the US, who sing this piece and compare but you will find that it is possible this and Thomas Kaufman the difference is minimal. By leaning more with the color of his voice towards a dramatic tenor, he is still a tenor.

HAY QUE ESTUDIAR mucha musica canto escuchar a voces de todos los registros volver a estudiar volver a escuchar, para poder opinar ,si una voz es Engolada o no lo es es muy dificil dictaminar sobre este tema tan de moda en estos tiempos especialmente cuando se lo critica AL VIRTUOSO TENOR MAESTRO JONAS KAUFMANN .Es muy importante estudiar sobre algo tan complejo y maravilloso como lo es La Voz Humana .Un Don Divino que Natura nos da cuando llegamos a este Mundo . LA VOZ DE JONAS KAUFMANN TIENE ECO ,FLOTA VUELA ES LIVIANA SIEMPRE VA POR SOBRE LA ORQUESTA .....ES UNA VOZ UNICA ......
Bravo à Jonas, mais je pense que votre voix a évoluée, c'est celle d'il y a 15 ans ... c'est parfait, mais je trouve que maintenant elle est encore plus belle car elle a pris de l'ampleur, une tonalité très profonde, grâce à votre travail permanent pour l'ampleur du chant ...👍👍🌹❤️
You have to be glad Jonas Kaufmann isn't the best singer, that he could have room for improvement, cause that means he's going to sound better the next time you hear him and won't get tired of listening to him. But this indeed is a great performance.

Really not bad but it lacks the lightness and melodic effortlessness needed to be able to convey both power and emotion. This just seems to strong throughout the rendition. Compared to the best renditions of all time of course.
@tanpeke yo antes escuchaba esta voz engolada tambien pero ahora ya no estoy tan seguro, la voz corre mucho en el teatro y una voz engolada pues no correria asi creo yo.
@cez1005 better?! depends what you mean - better in proffecionalism / technique or better in sound of voice?!!! If you mean the first - you have to be a competentive in this field but if you mean the last - you failed as both have original and unique voice.
