Jonas Kaufmann is absolutely 💯 the tenor of our time. The passion and richness of his voice is magical as he carries his audience through a song or a complete opera. Bravo Maestro 👏 👏 ❤ 🌹 💐 🏵 🥀 🌹 ❤ tenor of our time!
I don't like suggestion for comparison now versus young especially this unique artist. is normal so singer's voice changes during loooong(26 years!) stage carrier ...but is one awesome thing his voice always is beautiful and his singing is moved...and no there are no signs of weariness but amazement that his voice seems fresher recently than it was a few difficult years ago!
Alfredo Kraus, Nicolai Gedda, and Francisco Araiza not to mention the legend Bjorling, Gigli, Carusso and Corelli!! maintained the beautiful color and timbre until the late of their career. Jonas voices is changing too dark rapidly.
@@jaeyoonkim2159 every voice changes with time. Even the great corelli's voice was not the same after 25 years of career. But Kaufmann is using an unhealthy technique giving him this thick and dark sound. In his youth his voice wasn't like that. I don't like talking bad of artists, but at this point I feel like Kaufmann does nothing but barking with a throaty sound.
I would point out that JK, in the early years of his career, was loosing his voice in performance. This is all in the public domain. He went to the late Michael Rhodes and changed the way he sang. 'JONAS KAUFMANN: IN CONVERSATION WITH THOMAS VOIGHT'. One immediate point of significance is that he was able to sing with greater stamina without the fear of loosing his voice. Have a read.......
Thank you. This is what I suspect as well. Renee Fleming discusses projecting vocal sound through "the mask" in her memoir. It seemed to me that Jonas Kaufmann deliberately altered his definition of his personal "mask"---where the sound projects from the facial bones---to produce a richer, heftier sound. When he sings, his body, neck and shoulders are always relaxed, and his tone is fully focused on projecting through his personal mask. But there is one thing he has always done consistently: he is an consummate musician, always seeking nuance, and creating elegant phrasing. No one does this without a helluva lot of work and thought. He is, IMO, a consummate musical artist.
This is supposed to show the tranformation of a voice from almost a leggero to a fake spinto. His later voice is much too throaty, small and lacks squillo needed for his new career.
This is the most famous and poplar male opera singer in the world, not only zero squillo but also big peach instill in his throat... how silly the operatic world!
Illogical. If he needed squillo for his new career but lacks it, how could he have such a great, international career? So it is you against all the big opera houses in the world?
Overrated. For those of you who think this is top quality singing, listen to the singers of the Golden Age....Corelli, Gedda, Vickers, Bjorling, Di Steffano , Martinelli, LauriVolpi, Gigli, Schmidt, Wunderlich, to name a few. Now these were tenors!!
Just listen to the next video, then you will know just what a true artist he really is. He is a fantastic singer with a unique voice. And that is the point, it is like no other. His own choice of a favourite tenor is Wunderlich. But Jk has his own voice, he has not tried to mimic anyone else, thank goodness. He has charisma and great charm and as for the voice being small. Well it is not the largest voice in The world but even when singing ppp he can be heard at the back of the hall, such is the intensity of his projection. Wonderful. He deserves his place as the worlds most sought after tenor.
