When you see how involved Jonathan Davis really is with music, spanning over so many genre's, I just can't help but say, Goddamn this dude got out there and lived life!
to add to this, people need to realize that this was released when jon was finally released from his shitty contract from epic/immortal. if you ever noticed, the soundtrack to QOTD didnt have jon's voice because sony (parent label) basically OWNED jon's voice so he couldnt do sh*t without their consent. when the contract was done, jon did this for fun, released it on his personal website and that was that. its fun, he did it cuz he wanted to. its not suppose to be taken too seriously
You don't remember Wicked from Life is Peachy? That was an Ice Cube cover. And that was their second album. Not to mention when Ice Cube guested on Follow the Leader, and Nas guested on Take a Look in the Mirror. So to answer your question, Korn have been having fun recording rap songs for nearly 20 years now.

Idky but I always forget about sh like this... Rock feed didn't really bring me here. But I like the way even nu metal artists... Are like, "🤔 I mean, I'm not sure what it means either." Also, random, random but -nevermind. I forgot already. I didn't really forget but it wasn't that important anyway & I didn't feel like commenting about it 😁...
Mumble rap Sucks Trump 2020 I can’t help but feel like individuals like you say Lil Wayne sucks even though Hip Hop is currently the zenith of music currently. Or perhaps you just hate all hip hop and rap music. I grew up listening to groups like Jack Off Jill but at the same time I can acknowledge Lil Wayne’s musical contribution. You also came to listen to this song just because someone other than Lil Wayne is performing. You might want to take a look at yourself, buddy.
This sounds way ahead of its time! Sounds like something we will be listening to when buildings are in the sky and we are getting around by aerial craft.
not really, but good. I'm trying to figure out why there is so much hate for Lil Wayne, not sure yet, but he's consistently very, very successful, and artists across ALL genres have collaborated, so maybe his talent is in creating, whether or not you or anyone likes his voice or autotuning, etc, he writes, and contributes to the creative process, I would assume , in a way that lends very consistently to SUCCESS, which is like printing money, so this is what I tend to think is the case and why there is so much jealousy and mean spirited hate towards him, because it's not his lovely singing voice, it's something deeper, and fools have a hard time seeing that...
What many of you dont realize because you listen to all music is Korn the entire band did a actual song with him as well watch Prom Queen. Real musical talent dont stick to one genre. And Korn dont listen to all the oldskool fans.....JDevil asks it alot ARE YOU REEAAAAAAAADDDDDDYYYYYYY? he meant the musical highway Korn will take you down
Lorien Davenport I have enjoyed a lot of the newer music by Korn as well as their older music. I've been a Korn fan since the beginning, and the way they have evolved over the years is outstanding. That's true talent right there.
When this first came out I heard it on the radio and after it was over these black guys called the radio station and were saying crap about John and how he shouldn't have made his on version of this song.
I like this version; it's a good cover and has a good sense of urgency along with that enjoyable swagger that often comes with good rap metal. I've tried listening to the original but it just doesn't do anything for me. There are rap songs that I do like but not this one.
Guys, most of you didn't realise it yet, but this song was made for the FUN, Jonathan heard this song and thought that he could save the song if he would re-make it. The Auto tune and shit it just pure for the lolz, I think this remake is more meant to be a diss than a cover (By using auto tune a lot like lil wayne) this wasn't meant to be a serious thing or whatever, no doesn't mean he likes Lil wayne, he just thought he could save the song if he would remake it which he did perfectly, now stop bitching about "Omg Jonathan made a remake of Lil wayne, that means he likes Lil wayne" TL;DR : This song is made for the fun, JD doesn't like Wayne he just wanted to remake the song because Wayne fucked the old one up and the overused auto tune parts is pure a diss.
Unlikely, I remember when this came out all those years ago. He said he liked Lil Wayne. I don't think the track was meant to be taken seriously. He's worked with plenty of rappers before. There is actually a Lean wit' it rock wit it/Coming Undone mashup approved by Korn with an offical video and everything. I really doubt he was trying to mock Lil Wayne. I saw him perform during this time period. He was continually in need of oxygen and was not doing well. I don't think that time period was good for him and his work at the time really showed it. Although, I will say I have always had mixed feelings about Korn/JD's solo work. Some of it is good, some of it is bad. I sing classical music though so there you go, take my opinion with a grain of salt. Apologies for any spelling errors, I've been drinking.
actually he is friendsm with alot of rappers...the coming undone video with the grills he got fron paul wall..he said he love rap of he didnt he wouldnt have tour with ice cube n snoop dogg..any korn fans know that some of their influnce are from rap
I've come to the conclusion that Lil' Wayne makes good songs...for other people to cover. Framing Hanley's Lollipop is also a really good cover. LOL! As for the autotune, I love it. Makes me laugh and shows that people with good voices it doesn't sound like shit, even when they overuse it to comedic effect. ;)

This ISN'T the first cover korn has totally crushed better than the original!!! They did The Wall by Pink Floyd and did it BETTER than the original. And I LOVE ALL of them....Weezy Korn and Pink Floyd 😜
@locosychocrazy1 Ikr i like some of the so-called "sophisticated/elitist" music like classical and progressive metal and i love some rap too and obviously bands like Korn. I don't get why people have problems with a WHOLE GENRE of music, there's good and bad from every genre and there shouldn't be any "elitist" music; it should unite people :)
it exist, it always has, but not on mtv and not on the radio, its in the underground as always one reason its like that, is that certain companies like hennesse and gucci sponsor rappers to promote their brands through mainstream music
I'm a rock fan, don't get me wrong but I think Lil Wayne's voice and style match these lyrics better. That said, Davis and Wanye have shown they want to work together before (In Wayne's Prom Queen video), they need to do a song together.
John Davis didn't make this cover to show he was better than Lil Wayne, he did it because he's a fan. You guys are hatin on Lil Wayne for no reason. Its a good song.
I love how James Root from Slipknot is in this too //_^ (guitar part that it)...such a great combination for a remix like this. this is fucking hilarious...but really well done.
