He is courageous he’s trembling while saying this probably because he’s worried his entire career might be over but still he stood up hats off.

Funny how this clip is not on the Oscar’s official RU-vid channel along with all the other winners.

He's trembling because he speaks the truth...and Hollywood does not like it.

So fucking brave. Making Hollywood uncomfortable.

He had a once in a lifetime chance to use the attention of this occasion to speak out for the morale values he holds, knowing that the backfire would likely be merciless. All while he could just have accepted it and continue to live a gifted life. Thats bravery and integrity and no one can take that away from him.

It's crazy that people were surprised and angry that the maker of a film like Zone of Interest would be in support of a people living in an oppressive occupied state. The film is literally about the horrible detachment of people living in comfort next to thousands of lives being taken everyday, indiscriminate of men, women and children.

His trumbling shows how strong is the power behind occupations that can cancel him for good or make his life miserables. Those who dares to go against them will be mute and cancelled.

Brave man. Dude has balls of steel to be able to speak up infront of that audience. Nothing but respect.

Very brave, stading up for the innocent children is worth much more than the academy award.

What a guy. So called “stars” with no shame keeping silent about genocide in Gaza.

Making blanket statements about "terrorism" does nothing to minimize the reality of what's being done to a staggering number of innocent Palestinians in retaliation. In light of these present atrocities, Glazer's film does indeed remind us how history repeats itself not only in this modern genocide but in the rhetoric and mindset of those who would defend it. In the film, there is a scene in which a German radio broadcast condemns the "massacre" of "innocent" Germans at a school, rallying the German people in their fight against "the other." To the Germans, such an event could easily be used to justify the Nazi's campaign of unspeakable violence (in "self defense," etc). History, however, has made clear how comparably insignificant this "massacre" of German innocents remains in light of what we now understand to be a reprehensible genocide waged for a "cause" that seems so unjustifiable in retrospect. What will we say of Israel when enough time has passed to reflect soberly upon what was done? What museum will house the ephemera of how many tens of thousands of massacred Palestinians, putting their decimation in perspective? Glazer dares to ask these questions now, while our own media still spins an alternate take that attempts to justify the unjustifiable, as we go about the banality of our own lives on the other side of the wall. Bravo to him.

That's all he said? I don't mean that in a disrespectful way to him, i just can't believe there's been such an outburst of hatred for such a sensible speech. I was expecting something a lot more ridiculing in this speech...

It's out in the open for the whole world to see what Israel is doing.

Respect to Jonathan Glazer for speaking the truth when most are silent. He hands trembled because he knows that truth comes with a heavy price in a state complicit in the occupation and genocide.
