I dislike the attitude that by default the U.S. needs to be deferential to Israel. What debt does the US owe Israel? Doesn’t Israel owe the U.S. for WWII? I am pro Israel but when you can’t defend yourself alone you need to be patient.
Israel did (pre 1967), can, must, and will be able to defend themselves OSTENSIBLY on their own, if they are to have true security. The USA, no more or less than any other Nation, has no obligation to be deferential to Israel. If they are deferentially for Israel, the USA does so FOR THEIR OWN benefit by not earning themselves the curse for those who treat Israel indifferently. What the USA has done so far has reduced Israel to servitude to the USA and the time is coming when the people of Israel will be released from servitude to the USA to serve HaShem wholeheartedly.

But for the USA to attempt to shackle Israel during wartime by threatening embargo is not a position ISRAEL should be placing themselves in. I look forward to the day when Israel has clearly repaid all of their debts to the USA and confidently tells the USA, ''actually, we DON'T need your help. With our G-d helping us, we'll go it alone. Don't even attempt to hinder us.''
