Listening to Johnathan's original works over the last few years I think he has really come into his own as a solo artist - I would recognize this song as one of his immediately. I think it's really a sign of a great artist when they have that clear of a musical identity even across genres and styles.

I’ve been popping in on your stuff for a number of years in and off ‘cause you’re quite talented and have a unique artistic character, and this is by far my ultimate favorite of anything you’ve ever done. The drama and the power, the ability to rip out emotions I can’t process on my own. It’s not just an awesome headbanger. It is immensely cathartic in a sensory way I don’t know how to articulate. Your being able to make your own art is a blessing for everyone it touches.

Can't wait for another original album! Starship Velociraptor instantly dethroned lots of my old favorite songs. Especially Final Frontier, Army of Tigers, and Storm the Castle. These pirate songs would've been absolutely perfect for my friends and I when we were in high school circa 2005-2007. We were into pirates everything. Talking like pirates day in and day out, dressing up for the POTC movies (and in general), me getting saluted in between classes as the captain of our merry motley crew of miscreants, playing POTC in band, dancing to the POTC soundtrack, making up our own sea shanties, and making a general spectacle of ourselves. I had a Jolly Roger flag in my bedroom window. Of course, I was the coolest of the bunch, walking around with my tiny plastic toy sword. :-) Despite my school mascot being an eagle, I got a pirate on my class ring to remember all our good times and laughter, and I still smile every time I see it -- I smile far more than I would've had I opted for the eagle like everyone else. Thanks for the awesome music, JoYo, and keep up the excellent work! Love it!

Children Of The Night was a song of rage and vengeance at being wronged by those in power. This song is either about ignoring issues going on around us with hidden regret, or it's how lost everyone is without anyone in power. The second part of Vengeance is the consequences, and if every king suddenly disappeared in medieval times, many groups and people would start to suffer. "Pretend I hear them singing" could be a reference to either the Children hearing how their revenge had affected everyone else, and how they don't want to acknowledge that the king they hated had worth or kept some things together, as this is also shown as "Tell me why you mourn". They desired a happy response/reaction to hate and anger, but all they got was that same empty feeling they've always had, with no one alive to take it out on.

THAT guitar solo blessed my ears. Your original songs are something else, Jonathan. Keep it up! 🤘🏻
