Okay I knew a *bit* about the drama on TikTok with this product but finally watched all the stuff AFTER filming. 😂 WOW! Glad I tried the WTF foundation in different ways because I do actually like it. Of course, I also like low-medium coverage foundation too!

You used a lot more WTF foundation than Bobbie Brown said to use. She said to use VERY little with a brush or hands. She has a video up demonstrating. It seems that the product should come with more detailed instructions. Thank you for trying new brands and introducing us to different things.

I like Bobbi Brown but yet again, the assumption is women my age always need balms and oils and giant sticks of moisturizer. I’m just sitting here waiting to give my money to the first makeup brand to realize that some older women have very oily skin and need good products that stick to oily, aging skin without causing breakouts.

Yes!! My skin seems like it gets more oily the older I get. This video is the first one I've seen that the foundation hadn't separated and looked decent. In the others, the foundation has a half inch of oil floating around on top. That's way too much of a "glowing" look for me.

The products look lovely on your youger skin, Jess, though in my early 60's with dry skin I might be her "target audience"---but who knows? I'm going to pass on the whole line, I think. My skin is good and my face isn't too scary, so I achieve a no-makeup look by ... going without makeup. ;) Sunscreen, maybe a light dusting of powder on potentially sweat-prone areas, and lipbalm. Maybe I've just become more of a curmudgeon, but if I'm going to look pretty much bare-faced, I can do it for a lot less than Bobbie is charging. As for you, you look stunning in pretty much everything. Love your videos, love your reviews, and wishing you and your beautiful family all the best.

@CastleMc

the point isn't to look like you aren't wearing any makeup-it is to even the skin tone and add a bit of color, which almost everyone can use. These products make a subtle but important difference.

The line “the world doesn’t need more beauty products, it needs better beauty products” is so… odd? Idk the right word for it cuz it’s like the world doesn’t need more beauty products but here’s more beauty products, they’re just better 😂 is that not ridiculous. Especially when you realize Bobbi Brown sold her brand and made a new one. If the world needs better beauty products and not more, why not make those products within the Bobbi Brown brand?

Because she didn't own Bobbi Brown after I think 1995 - Estee Lauder owned the majority when she sold it, so anything she created under her own name thereafter was property of Estee Lauder, not BB herself. If she wanted to add something to the market, and wanted to make the money on it herself, she was better off waiting to leave EL in 2016, waiting on her non compete to end in 2020, and launching what she wanted to.

The Jones Road beauty line literally gave me the confidence to leave my house. I’m 50, and I’ve been watching Jessica for years, since her decluttering days at her parents house. During the height of the pandemic, we lost the family business and my confidence was nonexistent. I also follow a very low-fat diet because I don’t have a gallbladder and my skin looked like it belonged to a significantly older woman. This line of cosmetics has been the ONLY line to make me look and feel attractive, and I usually do not ever feel attractive, that’s just my nature. Im reopening the business and I’m not going to scare anyone away with the condition of my skin, thanks to Jones Road.

Completely unrelated: Just saw an ad from makeup brand Pür instructing how to get the "sunburned look". To me, having had severe sunburns in my life, this is a godawful, terrible idea to promote. Why in the world would anybody want to look sunburned and why in the world would any beauty brand glorify such a thing? Utterly irresponsible. I'm just a rando on the web, and only follow three BeautyTubers these days (you, Emily Noel, Zabrena), so maybe I'm behind on trends, but I'm utterly horrified that looking sunburned would be considered an "in" look. Sorry for a ranty tangent, but dang...
@sammysoppy3361
@sammysoppy3361 2 года назад
people are gonna tan no matter what you do about it… i think it’s better to promote getting that look(which is why anyone tans anyways-the specific look) with makeup and things like self tanner etc than to actually have them go tan. You won’t be able to stop everyone from irresponsible sun exposure but like that’s an impossible task anyways

Like you, I felt it was a perfect shade match and makes me look like I am "naturally beautiful." However, the WTF doesn't have staying power for me. Your top is so cute. Drama is silly. Yes, it's made for dryer, mature skin. Many women don't. For all who don't, not every product is made for everyone, nor do they have to be. I'm over 40, normal skin, after fixing my super oily skin with facial oils. I like a light complexion product and found light to minimal coverage working best over 40, which she is right about. Yes, it is a pricier brand, but so aren't many brands and there are many options for everyone. I fell in love with a $40 primer which I love under a tinted moisturizer or instead of one so worth the price for me because it fills my needs. People too often thrive on complaining or bashing. Companies create products. If it works for us, we have opportunity to buy. If we don't want it or don't like the cost or find it right for our needs, we can buy something else.

Why would people roast the products if they aren’t getting full coverage and it’s oily looking when it wasn’t right for them to begin with? I don’t get it.

Couple month ago I saw the foundation was newly launched on credo and immediately get tagged by credo as “fan fave” or “bestseller”, cannot recall the exact word the website use. But I remember I was laughing out loud because I know it’s a lie like how a just release product being tagged by those words??? and that was actually the reason why I didn’t try it out, also why I don’t like credo anymore

This whole line reminds me of glossier. It looks good if you already have nice skin without too much to cover, especially normal to dry skin. This line is probably good for that too with the balms and the light coverage. Not for me with my oily combo skin with patches of melasma and some redness to cover.

One of the things that I respect and admire about your videos is that you are straight up honest and genuine in your reviews. Too many creators like to sugar coat things to stay on PR lists, but you give honest reviews, good or bad. Thank you for that!

Not every makeup has to work for everyone. People with oily skin should probably avoid balms and people with dry skin should probably avoid mattes. There are plenty of matte oil control foundations for oil skin. Move on if its not for you.

I tried the WTF foundation and the color match was perfect, however I could not get past the tacky feeling on my skin. Same with the blush/lip color stick.

definitely for more mature dry skin and Bobbie says she hates powder on mature women as it excentuates all lines and I can confirm being 50 ish..LOL This line just does nothing for me. For a "natural" looking makeup, it still seems like a lot of work

Foundation looked really nice! Not sure about the rest. I've gotten a little tired with the constant launches (even with skincare) and find a lot of similar colours/products so I've stuck to using either sunscreen/dd cream. I recently discovered how great QV cream (while in quarantine in a hotel) feels on my face once absorbed!

I paid a fortune for some Jones roads face products. I am 59 with very dry (Sahara desert) skin and I work in a hospital where the air sucks any moisture out of your skin. I bought the balm. Foundation, blush, eyeshadow, and bronzer. The powder products are meh . .. The balm and foundation were horrid. They made my skin sag and look oily. They made me look older than I look with no makeup. Also it does not wear well. It streaks. Booo! ON the upside, I liked the corrector and concealer pencils. I gave these products to my 29 year old daughter who loves them and has drier skin than I do. She enjoys the face cream products and balm. Not for me! There are plenty of negative reviews on this on you tube. I was really disappointed. I am still all for Bobbi Brown’s face base from her original line; it doesn’t make my skin sag. The balm is straight up like Vaseline!

I live in a small town with not alot around so I love these types of videos! A fun idea for more like this (I do this for something different at work) but depending on how often you want to do these type of videos (1 a month 1 a week ECT) you would do a brand that starts with the letter of the month, so like for June Joan's road would work perfectly! And so on,
