Jones Road Miracle Balm Review: First Impressions and Initial Thoughts

Hey there! I finally got my hands on Jones Road Miracle Balm and in today's video I am sharing my first impressions and an initial review on this multi-use product.
If you're not familiar with Jones Road, it was created by legendary makeup artist Bobbi Brown. She sold her namesake brand to Estee Lauder and left the company, to build this new, clean beauty line called Jones Road.
The brand sent me a handful of products to try, but I was most excited to try Miracle Balm after seeing it in a Masterclass and all over the internet. I'm using Dusty Rose in the video, and all thoughts are my own.
So, is Jones Road Miracle Balm worth the hype? I'm sharing what I love and don't about this product. I hope you find this review helpful!

Mine went in the trash. Horrible...reminded me of car wax. & the smell...terrible. Waste of $

I love this product. The demonstration of the product is not very good. You push your clean finger into it, warm it up with finets for about 2 seconds, and apply. It looks natural and leaves skin looking and feeling moisturized and naturally glowing. It's buildable but looks very natural from first application.

I finally ordered my first miracle bomb. I also got dusty rose and I love it! It gives a slight tone, shimmery healthy look. I put it on my cheeks, eye lids, lips and tip of my nose... I'm very happy with it!

I agree with your comments - and I use the Dusty Rose. I will buy it again, it makes me look alive on days where I don't feel it.

Camille, I watched a Jones Road demonstration using this balm in the shade‘tawny’, it was applied using fingers and a brush. Using a brush is very effective in giving you much more pigment, it looked like the most natural rosy blush I’ve ever seen. The dusty rose shade was used as a highlighter only, and the shade ‘bronze’ was applied using a brush-placed where you would normally apply a bronzer. The bronze shade also cancels out redness on the skin, and the model used for this demo had fair/light skin. I don’t know why BB only recommend tawny for medium skin, as I was blown away by the perfect rose color it gave light skin on cheeks. Since you already own the highlighter for it (dusty rose), you have 2 out of the 3 products. •Btw, the shade tawny looks very dark in the pan, don’t let that dissuade you, it doesn’t look dark on the skin at all.

Hi, great review but I'm even more confused! I have very fair, parched, peri menopausal, itchy dry skin. What one would you recommend, colour wise please? Would you use it all oner too please? Thank you, from Ireland, Wednesday, the 12th of October 2022 🧡🇮🇪💚

I wish I would have read these comments before buying. I’m have sandy blonde hair and bought tawny. It had a strange texture. I hope it would be fine because of my dry skin but I’m going to stick to traditional foundation and blush. Maybe I’ll like it in the summertime when I have a little natural color on my face. I actually like the E.L.F. Monochromatic Multi Stick better. Similar colors and has more moisturizer.

So if this is a true balm consistency, wouldn’t it remove sunscreen? I want to try it, but I definitely don’t want it taking my sunscreen off.

It’s so hard for me to choose a color! I read a story by Bobbi that said the lab didn’t do exactly what she wanted but she tried it and loved it - that mistake is this product. Also it’s supposed to be used underneath the skin pencil - if helps it glide on and look natural.

Oh I had no clue! A happy mistake! I think all of the colors are so sheer you probably can’t really go wrong. I don’t have the skin pencil but should maybe try it. :)

I think the issue with this balm for me, is that I don’t have naturally flawless clear skin. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love the idea of this being my go to thing, but I just don’t think it would work for me. Thanks for the review!!!

I just received mine same colour. It is not a blush you can apply it all over it's all about moisture it is for older skin.

Hi Linda! At the time of this review I used it as the description said on the Jones Road website. But, I would agree that this is maybe for drier more mature skin. I have combination skin so this was a little too much for me. I hope you love yours!

I wanted to love it bc of Bobby Brown. But I hated it. I kept trying it several times maybe thinking the maybe today it won't feel so bad. But it was very tacky, sticky and heavy feeling. My hair would get stuck on my face bc of it. A big waste of money.

Same here. I got Au Natural and Flush. Cheekbones, nose, lips. No. Just no. I’m using it as a lip balm and that’s only because it’s $38 a pop 😮

Total waste of money for me. Reminded me of car wax...literally. Instead of throwing it out, which is what I wanted to do considering how disappointed I was, I decided to just use it on my legs for a light glow, after shaving. (bought Au Naturel) Very very disappointed.

I really wanted to love miracle balm. Based on my experiences with Bobbi Brown products I thought it would be good. It’s not. It’s heavy and very sticky and makes your face look greasy. Strangely there is not much color for your efforts. I saw someone here wanted to just throw it out but decided to use it on her legs. I might do that. It’s a real waste of good money.

I was hoping for more color too, so that felt like a big disappointment. Obviously you could layer, but it was starting to feel heavy as I did that. Oh well, can’t win them all!

I think that’s a fair point! There are a few shades with no glitter and I think the Au Naturel has 0 color and just adds more of a dewy appearance, but I haven’t tried it yet!

What you had on your hands was probably the waxy part. Don't you have to dig in more? You probably had more of the top layer on your hands because I saw that you just used what was on your fingers when you broke the seal. I wondered if this color was right for you, your skin is a little tan. I think I saw that this color was a light pink.

It’s not a crème blush or an eye shadow. Sorry but you’re applying it over top of your make-up? I know it can be applied on top but I think fair reviews should be done on a clean face. I wonder if you’ve misinterpreted this product?? I myself haven’t tried it yet but because I’ve done my research I still plan too. I’m excited because I have mature dry skin. I do think your review was fair overall. It seems like you really don’t like it but are trying to? You gave it a 7.5 but didn’t say if you’d recommend it or not. So it was not the best review I’ve seen to be honest.

I wish companies would STOP using “clean” in their advertising. As if the FDA allows dirty makeup to be sold. It literally means nothing. However this looks like a lovely product. Albeit overpriced.

The FDA allows all kinds of unhealthy chemicals in makeup, so “clean” actually does mean something. For ex., so many cosmetics sold without a warning nationally have a warning on the label in CA.

Sorry but this is a vague review. The amount of “ummms” didn’t help. “Say what you mean, mean what you say “ comes to mind. I’m just as torn on this product as I was prior to watching this 10 min video.

If you didn’t want to watch all 10 minutes, you didn’t have to. As listed in the description this was a first impressions review and my initial thoughts were that I was also torn and was going to keep using the product to see how I ended up liking or not liking it. I’m also a human being, not a robot, so unless you have never uttered “umm” before, then I don’t need you pointing that out in my video. Cheers

Gives a very greasy look on the cheeks, chin, forehead, etc, and does nothing for the rest of the face. Even the colors aren’t nice. It’s not a glow, it’s oily and greasy looking.

I was okay with how it looked on my cheeks, but I didn’t think this was a must have product for me in the end since I can achieve the same result with a highlighting powder. I was super bummed! Can’t win ‘‘em all!

Your review is so annoying you need to look at how you do reviews on make up I don’t care with satisfying I’m trying to get a product and it’s like you’re taking forever to get to the product I don’t know if you’re just trying to extend your video and get people to watch longer but it’s very annoying OK and just so you know that and maybe that would be something that you would look at reviewing because initially I like your vehicle and I slowly find myself being annoyed and irritated because it took you forever to get to the point maybe that’s something you should look at

Have you tried the ELF Monochromatic Multi Stick? I love it and thought that’s more what it would be like. You get that fresh dewey pop of color, it’s more moisturizing and definitely less expensive. I get it at Target and I thought that’s what this was going to be more like and Bobbi Brown has always been a favorite. Hopefully she’ll take the constructive criticism and perfect it because I love the concept. Has anyone else tried anything similar that you like?
