I am a jones road convert. I love it as have a 50 year old face and massive pores. It the only foundation that doesn’t sit in them. I also adore the miracle balm
Love this review. I've been using the WTFoundation & face pencils and I swear it feels like my skin is improving. I live in high desert dry, windy climate, 59 years old with dry skin. Since I started using this line, my skin is so comfortable. It feels like I'm wearing skin care not makeup. The synergy between the wtfoundation and face pencils is magical. Adds the right amount of coverage I need without adding texture that's aging. Enjoyed your views on this line. I'm seriously obsessed with it.
I love the What The Foundation it is just so expensive. I mix the Elf hyro glow with my miracle cream lotion and make my own cream foundation which looks amazing and lasts throughout the day!
It’s the big 70 this month and I’m finding traditional foundations frustrating to apply. I’m so happy you reviewed Jones Road. I love how you did two days and varied the application. The results were nice. I think you looked pretty wearing the products. Also after reading the comments, I’m curiously optimistic in giving this line a try! Thanks so much for your review!!
You are the first person to make Jones Road look good! I have been going back and forth on the foundation. I’m the same age as you, have desert dry skin and live in the Midwest….meaning brutal Winters. Therefore, I think this would not be a greasy mess everyone keeps claiming it is….. Thank you!!!
Thank you Sophia! I also think this would be a lifesaver during those dry cold months the midwest has. In fact, I'm making a little "care package" for Tamara with samples to see if she'll like it in the cold months! As far as making it look good, it's just a different medium and I think many people prefer the comfort of using something they are familiar with - and they'll use the same tools and methods they're used to when they may not be the best approach.
@@TheHoodedLid just received from Credo and used. Your review was spot on (not that I doubted you). This is fantastic on my dry skin. I completely agree that it looks better as time goes on/the tackiness goes away after a bit. It also has more coverage than I thought. I also am glad I ordered the same shade as you. I was a tad skeptical since it is for “fair” skin and like you, I’m “light medium.” Anyway just popping in to say Thank You and reinforce with other dry, mature skin subscribers that this really is pretty/natural looking.
I am so glad you did this review!! I have been wanting to try Jones Road but was a bit intimidated by some reviews I've seen on the foundation and miracle balm. I love Bobbi Brown's makeup philosophy. When you did the 3 hour check-in, it's almost like your skin looked better (if that's possible)! I trust your judgement so much, so this is the review I wanted to see for Jones Road.
So glad you liked it. I also thought it looked better a couple of hours later. I was really surprised when I powdered it on the 2nd day how amazing the forehead looked too.
As many have commented already, your review IS a rarity of this line! You took the time and patience to work with the product as it probably is intended. The lip, the eye and blush are bonus as you can use with other makeup. Great review 🎉
Love this review! I nearly didn’t buy it because of poor reviews. I have the face pencils, WTF, and two miracle balms. The face pencils are great for covering my under eye circles. I got one to color correct and one to cover that, amazing. I just ordered eyeliner and the face shimmer. My hair never sticks to my face although it is curly and I have a lot of it. It’s all about the application, if you are greasy you didn’t warm it and apply it thinly. It’s natural looking, improves my skin and for me is everything I need. Once I figured out application I’m sold on the line! Very easy and natural for a teleworker who still wants to take good care of myself at 53.
As others have stated -- this is the review I wanted to see. I figured the products had to work for someone (haha)! Your coloring/skin/age is nearly identical to mine, so I'm thrilled to see how well it all worked for you and now I'm game to give it a go. I need a *very simple and natural routine* and this might just be it! I'm so over regular foundations (just too masky), and unfortunately I'm not having luck with bb creams/tinted moisturizers. Saie and Ilia broke me out terribly. I want to try Chantecaille, Kjaer Weiss, and this WTF next. Your finished results both days are beautiful. You looked 'barefaced' with just a touch of eye & lip. The exact look I want.
Thanks so much! I’ve been dabbling in this product - tried the foundation (love it) and the face shimmer (love it) - I really enjoy your reviews and was psyched when I saw you did one on the Jones Road line. Super helpful and informative. 😊
You convinced me to try this as we are similar in age and skin type. It really works well for my skin with a light layer of Chanel or IT cosmetics powder. I’m amazed at the finish and the pencil covered my sun spots. Perfect for days when I have to be out and about for a no makeup look. It feels wonderful all day long. Thank you!
I'm so glad to hear it! So many people disliked this that I felt bad that I loved it. But I continue to wear it like you do - fast no-make-up look. Once powder down, the skin looks sooo pretty!
Oh my goodness, thank you for saying how yellow her original line foundations are! I’m light w pink undertones and years ago the mua had a dilly of a time trying to find a match for me and although I bought a lot when I got home and tried to use it at home I looked dead. There have been a few products of hers that I’ve remained loyal to over the years. I’m most intrigued by the miracle balm and I thought it looks really lovely on you! Thank you 🥰
I loved this video. I've always blotted most of my makeup off after applying. This could be perfect for me. You have beautiful skin by the way. I would love to see you review the Jones Road Skincare line also.
Sorry to hear that. I'm one of the lucky people who didn't go through hot flashes. For you, something like Dior or MAC face and body may be your best friend.
So glad you did this review! I’ve been thinking about trying this line for quite awhile. You look lovely and I think I might give it a try. Thanks again for your video. Have a wonderful weekend.
This looks beautiful on you! I ordered some products and can’t wait to try. I’m of a certain age, work from home but don’t want to look like a hag. Since COVID, gone are the days of full makeup for just around the the house. Sometimes a full face on myself looks too theatrical or like I’m getting ready for Kabuki theater. I hope the Jones Road looks as good on me as it did on you. Wish me luck!
I've been using WTF for a few weeks, it does set after a couple of hours for me and looks great all day. After I got used to it, I like the way it makes my skin look & that it's a clean makeup
Thank you so much for doing this I have been curious as I have a Lotta respect for Bobby Brown and her products. I really wish it was sold in stores so it would be more readily available to sample
As far as I know, they are only in Credo stores, of which, there are only a handful of brick and mortars. Maybe down the line she'll improve distribution.
Wow! This looks beautiful on you. You look beautiful! Talk about a no make up make up day. This would be it After watching your review, I’m really tempted to get this. Prior to your review, I did not give it a second thought. I’m just kind of torn between what color. If I should get fair or light. Thank you so much for this thorough review!
I appreciate your statement, if it requires a special brush, it’s Not for me! 😉. I’m 63 dry skin, wrinkles and trying to decide if I want to try this. I do want some coverage to hide spots etc. Thanks for reviewing this
I own quite a few shades in this eyeshadow and love them. I'm 69, with lots of crepe on the lids. I also love the Just a Sec eyeshadows, which are little pots of shimmery color. They remind me of the Charlotte Tilbury pot eyeshadows, if you are familiar with them.
PS. I wanted to mention another RU-vidr I watch used the face oil as a foundation and then applied concealer in certain areas and it looked great. It really looked good under the foundation you applied.
Great review. My skin has gotten SO dry that I love heavier products now. I use WTF two ways: under my normal foundation for all-day hydration and alone but with a light targeted application of translucent powder.
Great review! Older, 55 with dry skin, typically Chanel Foundation user. I watched your Merit review which references that you would do a Jones Road review I would like to ask, which product do you prefer ? Merit or Joan’s Road?
I just wanted to update you about creedo - the store on 3rd sells the entire line of jones New York! I went yesterday and picked up some samples of the foundation and the miracle blush in flushed. My thoughts - I’m so glad I didn’t buy the foundation because it is so perfumed! (I do not understand why) . It also stung my skin and I removed it pretty fast. The miracle balm in flushed and it’s really beautiful. I’m tempted to get it during the sale. 😬
From what I understand it is not perfumed, but since it is a "clean" brand without chemical preservatives, they used essential oils to keep it from going bad too quickly and that is what you smell. You might not tolerate some of the particular essential oils they chose for this purpose.
@@carolmelancon have you tried them? The smell is INTENSE. I don’t like fragrance in my beauty products, but I think even someone who didn’t mind a bit of scent would be overwhelmed. This is for the cream products though. The powder products might not be so scented.
Newbie here, I have watched so many reviews of this and you did THE BEST! YOU LOOK GREAT and so much younger (20 years). Thank you so very much lovely lady.
Thank you, Colleen! I really like it, too. I can see how many people would have a learning curve with some of these products, they're so different...but I put the entire face on again today - lol
Everything looks great on you. I tried this foundation when it launched during our hot/humid NY summer. I hated it so much I got a refund. They let me keep it so now that the weather is cold and dry I may try it again. I will always hate how messy the packaging is.
No doubt (and I mentioned in the video) many people simply won't like the formula/delivery system. But do let us know in the coming months if you like it better in the cold NY winter!
Now that’s a whole lotta enthusiasm for jones rd. Are you still feeling it? By the way, thanks for your excellent idea on using the westman atelier brûlé to address an almost right foundation. I used it today and was so happy w/the results. This was a beautifully constructed review and demonstration. I hope you are doing well and loving your new family member, Grace. My deepest condolences for your loss. I had a beagle girl for 14 years and find my tears still flow despite her absence for 6 years.
I have some of the new JRB products, all of which I adore. I’ve watched several videos about them, and yours is the very best, full stop. You are authentic, gentle, and wonderfully conversational. Thanks so much. I will definitely see you again.
Thanks. You look very pretty, but this line is definitely not for me because it is messy and that balm looks like too much work, and the overall look is too oily-looking and the wet/tacky quality would bother me. I also bought one of the liquid shadows from Jones Road and it was just garbage to me because it was worse than the cheapest drugstore or child's play makeup. I do really like that shadow on you. If I bought anything from this line it would be that shadow.
I'm so glad you tried it and liked it! I always powder because I prefer a more natural finish and I am always happy with how it wears. I also like the face pencils for concealing. It is different for sure! I haven't tried the lip tint yet, so I appreciated your review on those. I will have to give that a try! I am still on the fence about the miracle balm. I think it is because I am not a fan of shine. I have Penny eyeshadow and love it!
You are the first person that I havnt heard “omg it’s so greasy I hate it”! Lol looks very beautiful on your skin, I’m 61 and I also have dry skin, but idk if I could wait for the tackiness to dry , it would make me crazy as it does when I sweat in my t zone , I go nuts, lol my glasses slip off a d I hate that, tfs ❤
Well, I used her white balm years ago from Bobbi Brown, so I wasn't surprised by it. I find a lot of RU-vidrs don't know what to think about unusual textures so they just "hate" them.
Not sure I like this. I’m one of those who forever had oily skin and now, at almost 70, my skin is normal. I don’t want to look shiny/oily and prefer a satin finish. You look lovely with that glowy look. On my skin, not so much. Thanks for another great video!
Yes, if you prefer a satin finish - you may not like. But, remember I start pretty shiny because of my sunscreen. I'm not entirely sure it would look that shiny on someone who starts with a more matte face. It does have some tack to it, though which takes a couple of hours (on my skin) to go away.
Before she started Jones Road she had a balm foundation that had a horrid smell. I am wondering if this isn’t like her other. Before she sold the company. Thank you for sharing xoxo roseingeorgia
you know...I know she had some balm products, like a balm moisturizer, which I did own and loved in the winter...I have slight memory of a scent...but I can't really say
The balm was recommended by a friend .. do you think it sinks in & has a skin like finish or does it sit “on top of the skin”? Thanks for your thoughts
The blush is a lovely soft color, Kiki. I have nothing like it which seems odd since I feel I have a lot of blush! Heads-up, the links to the lip tint and the blush are flipped. 😊
I'm curious about the wtf for winter, but I am always concerned heavily oil based products will start to breakdown my sunscreen underneath just like a cleansing balm. What are your thoughts Kiki?
@@TheHoodedLid So, like dissolves like in chemistry and oil breaks down and dissolves oil-based and silicone substances such as sunscreens and makeup. Some oil cleansers may have surfactants but the ones I have used only contain oils and an emulsifier. The emulsifier reacts with the water you add to help break up and rinse off the oil. I took a lot of chemistry in college but I am no chemist. However, Lab muffin beauty is, and she has a video in which she explains the best way to apply makeup in such a way to keep the SPF layer underneath intact. I'll link it if I can find it again. I'll pass on this product since I'm concerned the heavy oil content and rubbing it on with fingers would breakdown my spf. I'm careful about this because I have melasma and SPF is the most important thing I put on my face. 💜 Thanks Kiki, I appreciate you are one of the few RU-vidrs who take the time to read comments and reply.
With these products - Girl you look so beautiful so natural so fresh. Not heavy or caked on makeup yeah! Your skin looks so healthy with these products! You go girl! This is what I’ve been hunting - what I’ve been waiting for yay! I want to thank you so much for this video. You have really done a great job on this video. I have learned so much from you and exactly what I can do with these products on my face. I am so excited. I love your honesty about everything. You look absolutely fabulous - definitely not 60. I’m gonna buy these products that you have demonstrated I’m so so so so so happy. Thank you for helping people and changing lives for the better. Hugs to you. Mary Freya of TN
This looks so nice on you! One of my favourite looks on you. I want to buy it. I'm a similar tone to you. Do you have it in shade light or fair? You say light in the video but your comments say fair. I'm assuming it's light...
@@TheHoodedLid I’m sure you’re right. I’m allergic to fragrance. I was so disappointed when I opened it, because I think it would be perfect for my almost 63 yo face/skin 💖
Spatchula is separate -miracle balm- is a must--have 3 colors- and two colors of foundation-porcelain & Fair. I have many items from collection-I've not found anything yet that I would not use from my purchases. Well done Bobbie Brown!
Your review is making me want to try the foundation & miracle balm. I’ve been intrigued since seeing the ads on Instagram. I’m a little concerned about the sheen because I’m so darn shiny anyway, especially in the Los Angeles heat. On the other hand I love the look sheer balm foundations, so maybe it would be fine. Do they sell it in person at creedo or do you have to order it?
@@TheHoodedLid I think they’re opening up a new Credo on Larchmont! I can’t wait. Now I have a reason to go in and recycle my old cosmetic containers 😊
There is a RU-vid channel - it is under Jones Road Beauty - not Bobbie Brown. If you look under the videos tab and scroll down to '1 Year Ago' there is a video all about the Miracle Balm and she demonstrates on herself and a model.
Interesting product (WTF) when I looked at the link my first thought was how nice there is a good color range. I happen to like foundations that can be applied with my fingers. I am also dry so I would be more inclined to use a product like that when our (desert 🏜) sun isn’t so harsh. 🌞
I recently got the WTF, Miracle Balm, Face Pencils, Mascara, and a couple of eyeshadows. I like the ease of the pencils to pinpoint age spots and get in tight spaces aroung my eyes and nose. I live in a warm, humid climate so I was thinking I may only be able to use this in the winter but I just realized that I have some colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Brush-On Shield SPF 50 that might work as a last step.
I tried just about all the Jones items you did. The only one I may repurchase is the lip balm. I just don’t care for the tacky feeling. BTW, will you review the Byredo lip balm/gloss and the Cle De Peu (sp?) lip stick in Stellar? Loved your video on winged eyeliner. Thank you!
Thank you for doing this review. As always these products look great on you but for some reason I don’t think they are for me. How is sweet Grace doing?
Glad you did this review! I like a lot from this brand. I have oily/ combo skin and I really like the way my skin feels after. It’s like I’ve left an overnight mask on whenever I rinse it off. The products look great on you!
