What do you guys recommend for sea bass and porgy bait? I'm a new britain angler about 1hr away from jordan cove. i have only tired fresh water fishing and want to try salt water fishing. If by chance you know any good spots near new britian let me know thanks alot. Glad I found more CT anglers 🎣
We’re practically neighbors. I live in Newington. My personal opinion is sand worms works best for shore fishing here in Ct. I’ve caught porgy, Striper, sea bass, blackfish all with sand worms. Bloodworms work good as well but I prefer sand worms. If you’re on a boat squid and clams work well. New Haven is a lil closer if you wanna try that. Good luck and tight lines
@@fishingwithjaybaez nice yea thats like 5 min away. I have been to a few places in Newington for bass fishing but that's about it. So far I have tried rocky neck for fishing one day but it wasn't great. But hey thanks for the reply if you know any specific spots for finishing around that will be appreciated. I'll keep an eye for more videos keep it up.
I’m looking to take a trip to Norwalk or somewhere close for some surf fishing..Is there anywhere you can suggest where I would be able to hook up with stripers or bluefish and it’s not crowded?
I always use 2 hooks but if one snaps I continue to use one hook then eventually change the set up back to 2 hooks. I’m pretty sure I had 2 hooks this video though. Yes that’s spider braid.

I like Jordan Cove for Porgy. That’s a great spot too for smaller boats to launch. I also like Avery Point but I lose a lot of rigs there. I’m like 50 minutes away from there myself so I feel your pain.
@@fishingwithjaybaez I'm in Florida every last week of the yr. Our company shuts down. I never fished in Florida yet. Do you get a week license? Like 20.00. I'm excited about catching the different species there. Do u stay with buddies or rent a place in the keys? Thats my last question. Glad to have found your channel 😀
It’s $35 for 3 day license or $50 for a year. I usually get the year since I go for a couple weeks and lately I’ve been going down 3 to 4 times as a year. I went in January, March and going again in August. All my family lives in Florida so I stay with mom, brothers, nephews, who ever welcomes me in 😂. When we go to the keys we normally just spend the night to fish two days. We are only about 3 hrs from the keys.
