When you are the best offensive weapon, the best defender and you have been retired for 30 years, yet everyone that has played before you and after you is compared to you that speaks of greatness of more than an era of basketball. That is the definition of GOAT.
Jordan was literally Must-see TV. I remember watching games in the 1986-1987 season where the Bulls had away games, and the fans were cheering more for Jordan in the pre-game introductions than their own team. Everything was scheduled around Bulls games. You knew the schedule for what day and time the Bulls played and planned accordingly. Back then, we didn't just watch highlights and check box scores like most ADD kids do today. We watched them in full from start to finish. You didn't want to miss a minute, because you might miss Jordan doing something crazy.
You damn right which is why Jordan played 82 games 9 times. He knew what he meant to the league and why it was important to show up. He also had one season he played 81 games. Jordan embraced the greatness and when he played it was the only time i rooted hard for another team other than my Mavs.
Mann this dude is SICCKK, I've never seen anything like this level of talent. I don't know how he can be compared. Imagine the fear he must have struck in the hearts of his opponents.
Thing about Jordan, we've seen a bunch of guys who could leap, but his balance, dexterity, and ability to hang in the air has yet to be matched.People discount things like having mathematically sublime rhythm & timing. His moves are so crisp, it's ridiculous. There was extra layers & gears to his athleticism that made him a one of one. When you add in the graceful aesthetic & physical charisma, everybody pales in comparison. He's still the otherworldly alien of basketball.Best athletes the game has ever seen. And I don't think it's particularly close.Bron's a great player in his own right, but Mike was truly the chosen one.
So back in the 80s and 90s, the didn't use the same techniques and training regimens that they have available today. It was mostly in the gym weight training. But MJ had those hops in High School. It was all natural talent. You can't teach creativity and grace. His game was poetry in motion.
no matter how many times you watch/we watch MJ highlights, they always leave us smiling with a sense of admiration for what he was able to do on the court.....(not to mention everything he was able to accomplish and achieve in only 13 full seasons in the NBA)...thanks for reacting to this video! Here's some trivia on MJ: he shattered a backboard during an exhibition game in '85 at 6'5" tall before ever playing in the NBA; as a member of the Bulls, he never lost more than 2 games in a rows for 8 consecutive years; a hall of fame career separates him from LeBron James (i.e awards, achievements, accomplishments, chips, accolades, stats, legacy, etc.); MJ is the only player in NBA history to win both the scoring title and defensive player of the year in the same year; MJ won 10 scoring titles most in NBA history; only player to score 40 pts & 50 pts in 3 different decades; when Doug Collins was his head coach, MJ racked up 11 triple-doubles in 15 games AND narrowly missed a few more during that stretch as MJ averaged 32.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, 10.1 assists, 2.6 steals per game, shot 50% from the field, and shot an outstanding 88% from the free-throw line! voted in to be a starter in the NBA All-Star Game as a rookie; only Shooting Guard to be ranked in the Top 5 in both Steals per Game and Blocks per Game; MJ won back-to-back NBA Slam Dunk Titles; MJ won the scoring title AND championship in the same year 6 times, which is 2 more than all the others who accomplished that feat combined! LeBron's a great player and he's achieved things that MJ will never achieve AND is still writing his history book in year #20? That said, after watching these MJ highlights and knowing what MJ accomplished in his career, I don't think there should be a G.O.A.T. debate...ESPN needs the ratings and they need to have something to generate fan interest, but to keep pushing this debate is stupid and senseless......let's appreciate today's players for what they're doing and stop the madness. LeBron's career will put him in the conversation as one of the best to ever play the game of basketball.....MJ was/is on a completely different level than LeBron...2 different players with 2 different styles and approaches to the game of basketball. My favorite player growing up was Wilt Chamberlain because I enjoyed his style of play and his athleticism/dominance on the boards....but when MJ showed up in the NBA, he became my favorite player for what he did for the game of basketball around the world and for being true to the game from start to finish...I still wish I could play like Mike...peace!
Back then certain guys were called "the next Jordan" which was bad for theirs careers once MJ heard about it. The same would be true if Bron or Kobe or anyone else from later had to face him night in and night out during his Bulls years. These videos are great for clicks but it's better to leave no doubt about the goat when you're around guys who got to see him play. LeBron doesn't shoot well or try to play defense. Or try to play 82 games.
Walter Payton said it best with this quote, "When you are good you tell everyone, when you are great they tell you." MJ has his peers saying just how great he is, and also in the same sentence that they feared him as well. Jordan was a GOD on the basketball court on both sides of the ball, he was a great scorer who could shut you down with his defensive prowess at the same time. I would suggest you watch the Jordan vs LeBron GOAT video as it compares each player not by numbers alone it also looks at analytics as well and you will see the truth young man. That video also takes into consideration their positions, and era's as well. One big difference MJ had only 1 All Star player on the Bulls with him when they won their 6 titles, that was Scottie. Bron has always needed 2 or more with him to win titles, also LeBron has lost as many Finals as Jordan won, so think about that for a moment.
MJ was a unicorn! The dude was so special! It was a privilege to grow watching a once in a forever player… One of one simply doesn’t sum it up…. Class of his own! “ Air Jordan” “ The Black Cat”
Game 6 V Utah, not just one of the best plays but one of the best sequences in NBA history. Keep in mind, they were down 3 with like 40 seconds left. They needed a quick bucket off the inbound play, MJ got them a bucket in 4 seconds. Then the next trip down defensively, he strips Malone, brings the ball up court and hits that J on Bryon Russell.
Not to mention he had gigantic hands. That's a deadly duo. To be able to get so high up and control the ball with one hand, move it around like nothing... the other players didn't have a chance
Rodman was close, nobody will tell you that though, but when he was with the Pistons he could jump with Jordan, he guarded him a lot, he is also 3-4 inches taller. This is a big part of the reason he was on the Bulls, he was the only matchup that Jordan didn't like, because he couldn't just jump over him.
Bro LeBron James is nowhere near Jordan!! Agree or disagree, To be the "GOAT" you should be near the top of every major statistical category? Jordan was a MUCH BETTER SCORER and James doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Jordan defensively!!! So how exactly does barely averaging more assists and rebounds equate to LeFlop James being the better all around player and that's not even spotlighting how much better Michael Jordan was with the game on the line!!!! Don't even come at me with total career numbers because he's played 6-7 years longer than Jordan and he's still barely above him in total numbers and finally in championship games Jordan was on a different level than anyone (Especially LeFlop James) because NOBODY BEAT HIM IN THE MOST CRITICAL MOMENTS (the Celtics needed 5Hall of Famers to beat Jordan and he still destroyed them individually)!!! You guys need to stop it
You can’t break down what Michael Jordan does he does things that look so easy that no other man can do that’s how great Michael Jeffrey Jordan news he is a man in the NBA he makes Hall of Famer‘s and All-Stars look like high school players that’s how good he is I’m not taking nothing away from all the other NBA players but that’s how good Michael was he is God
hey bro try watching the 10 part documentary of drew hanlen micro skill of jordan he breaks it down why is jordan its so hard to guard and all the skills of jordan. try to watch it so you can understand jordans game 😀 btw great review. #subscribe
Jordan understood what it meant not just to be a competitor but an entertainer as well. He didn’t sit games. And every game you tuned in because you knew he was going to do some wild shit
Right…MJ even said maybe someone saved their money so they could go to a Bulls game and it would be the only chance they would have to watch him play in person. He knew that and cared enough to make sure you weren’t disappointed. Today players sit out if they have a hangnail.
I love this 😊👍🏻! The GOAT debate isn’t really important in the sense that whoever you believe is THE greatest, we can all agree on that MJ certainly was great. It’s just beautiful, fun, enjoyable, masterful basketball. If you love the game, it’s impossible not to be amazed by Jordan 🤷♀️. I love this so much bc I’ve already seen it all, lived through it, and every time someone watch him for the first time is a little like reliving my own awe experience. He was so great at everything that you never get tired watching, he was out there doing so much it’s sometimes hard to focus on one thing 😂. That’s why it’s a good idea watching the suggestions you’ve got, to see how versatile he really was, he wasn’t just a scorer. Thank you so much for doing these reactions 🙏🏻!
@@luhhvii one thing you mentioned was some people train to do what Jordan naturally did. Just hypothetical but how much of a beast you think he would be today if he trained like NBA players did today? I played high school and college in the 90's and I can tell you the training methods I see today was WAY ahead of what we were doing. Even one of the dudes I used to hoop with that made the NBA back then and asking about his training regimen, these cats today are a lot more advanced.
@@luhhvii Great reaction, always enjoy your work. So as it relates to hang time, it comes form having a beast level core. MJ was known to do hundreds of setups per day in 80s and in the 90s when he connected with Tim Grover, Grover introduced him to using the medicine ball for core rotations, weighted core setups etc. MJ had natural hops, but he credits Tim Grover on isolating and improving areas of his athleticism. Read Tim Grover's book "Relentless" He talks about how he trained MJ, Kobe and Dwayne Wade.
I know what you mean. I lived it all myself, from the time he came into the league. And I can watch the highlights all day and feel like it's the first time I'm watching them. Still gives me the chills.
Nice reaction. I'm glad you kept it cool and didn't say anything antithetical to what you witnessed in the video. I think what many call Mike's hang time was his leaping ability along with his ability to shoot the ball on the way down while still maintaining control and accuracy. He could wait until the last moment to shoot giving him the increased space or opening needed to make the shot. Frankly I am unaware of any other player who mastered this like MJ. And, with his hands and fingertip control he remains as probably the greatest shot maker and one of the greatest all around shooters in the game.
Although LeBron is bigger, he is not faster and quicker. Jordan's defense skills would have shut him down. Pippen would have destroyed LeBron on D. Rodman would have retired LeBron early.
Dude. Great reaction. Me, as a Lebron fan, I can tell you it is ok to say Lebron is the 2nd greatest of all time. I'm Lebron since he is 16yo, I'm the same age as him, watched both of their careers. MJ is way too far from Lebron. MJ is the one and only. 🐐
Even with all these awesome highlights that are unmatched to this day, his mentality is what set MJ apart. Then someone like Jason Williams comes along and says that MJ couldn't even "survive" in today's NBA. Gtfoh! His mentality alone would set him above and beyond most players today.
Jordan was simultaneously the most athletic and most fundamentally sound player on the court. That made him unstoppable. This era is supposed to have the superior athletes. Yet, none can out athleticn him. He still has the highest vert, and even with 3 pointers, no one can match his highest avg. He'd be on another level, if he played today.
What you just said about if his skills came natural to him and IF guys today TRAIN to do that stuff should tell you all you need to know. You just basically answered your own question. The fact that people are training to do what he did naturally tells me that he was WAY beyond his time.
Man y'all trippin. The reason why Jordan is so much better than everyone including lebron is because his defense was just as good as his offense. And he was the best the best scorer of all time.
These highlights are great but if you knew the back story with some of these plays, it gets to another level of amazement. IE, that dunk on Mel Turpin around the 4:15 mark, a play or two before that, he dunked on John Stockton and a fan was heckling him saying to dunk someone his own size. He dunks on 7 footer Mel Turpin, turns to the guy and says " was he big enough?". There were a bunch of highlights against the Hawks, back in I believe 86-87, he came into the Hawks locker room, goes to the guy he was matched up with and says "lace them up, it's gonna be a long night.".. He dropped 54 that night. I can go on and on but the last one I'm gonna share is against the Washington Bullets since I saw a couple of clips against them. Bulls were playing them back to back, on the first game, little know player LaBradford Smith has a great game and goes off for 37. MJ made up a story in his head where Smith goes up to him and mockingly says "good game Mike". The next game he said, I'm going to score what he scored the entire game in the first half. MJ goes off but unfortunately, he couldn't get the 37 in the first half, he was two points short dropping 35.
you cannot call Lebron juggernaut if nobody is allowed to physically stop him by today's NBA rules, Carl Malone will be a true juggernaut in today's NBA rules, and MJ will the "The-One-Above-All" in today's NBA rules!
With all do respect. Lebron is an all time great, but he will never surpass MJ. Simply put, he went to the finals 8/9 times in a row, and NEVER THREE PEATED once, and you say he's better than MJ? Not even once, and he's been swept right out the finals LMBO. Okay, get off his ntz, respect his talent and stop being fan boys, Lebron is great, but MJ is Legendary. Thank you.
If you get a chance, check out the MJ “catch and shoot” videos. It shows you a dimension of his game that most don’t speak about. His ability to score quicker than anyone else could is very underrated. To give this context, Lebron holds the ball for 16 secs out of a 24 sec shot clock each play for an average. MJ is considered a ball hog but he simply caught the ball, and scored. He didn’t have to hog it. Just give it to him and it was a 🪣.
"goat of all time" bruh. the o.a.t. in goat literally means "of all time." no doubt lebron would have been an all star in the 90s era. equivalent to any of the dominant forwards of the day like malone, kemp, barkley, wilkins, mourning, etc....but just like them there would be a clear disconnect between being all star level good and how dominantly great mj was.
Notice how MJ dribbles the ball on his foul line dunks..I have only seen him do that..the man was a alien 👽..48 inches on his vertical leap, giant hands like a center, cat quick, and pure clutch..no doubt the greatest player I've ever seen period. Kobe Bryant came close in his skill set but even him did not have Jordan's hands or first step.. Michael Jordan was, and still is the greatest of all time aka 🐐 GOAT.
This video Voyager displayed a ton of Jordan's layup packages and hang time. Watch the historic bulls mixtape to see him pull the craziest in game dunks and more.
all of this crazy shit isn't why he's the GOAT. it's his killer instinct, will to win, absolute mental strength, highest basketball IQ, and insane competitiveness.
I find it interest that Lebron fans think he’s bigger faster stronger..when he’s actually not and that he’s unstoppable freight train juggernaut when all the defensive contact rules were removed in 2005, oddly he missed the playoffs the two years before😂✌🏽
it used to be hard to see nba players... if you didnt live in chicago you would only see games that were on national tv... there was no ESPN and cable in the early days of Jordan so I only saw him when he was on the big stage on national tv. never once did i watch a MJ game and fail to see a play that reaffirmed his goat status. EVERY GAME HE DELIVERED whether it was a huge dunk, a crazy athletic play, a sweet pass, a ridiculous steal or block.... every single game i ever watched MJ play he had at least one moment where you said to yourself "yup, thats the greatest possible basketball player". he had all the 2k sliders turned up to 100. watching these highlights, and seeing a bunch of plays ive never seen before, just solidifies the idea that - whenever MJ was on the court, he was the best player, and he was about to do something crazy to prove it to you and everyone else playing or watching
Quit comparing lebron to jordan.lebron a beast but jordan skill set is crazy he could kill you with abc moves lebron just bless to be 6-9 and play in this era where you can't really touch and 260
Ill agree in that Highlights doesn't really chaange anyones mind. To me even though I love waatching MJ best moments you have to watch any and I mean ANY of his games 2 or 3 should be enough to really understand that the highlits you see were not just that but legit every game he played, his entire career was a highlight and I think that's the main difference from people like me who actually saw him play most of his career to depending on highlights and grow watching an extremely good player like Lebron but when you go to really watch both play there is just no comparison MJ GOAT
Forget the big hands and leaping ability, what was hardest to match Jordan was his near psychopathic mentality. That is not taught. Very few ever get to that mentality, Kobe was one of them
teams guard the 3 so intently nowadays that it allows alot more room to drive..couldn't stop MJ with a spread out floor..teams guarded the lane back then..MJ was always driving into heavy traffic and they used to beat the hell outta that man to try and stop him
Key things to understand; Jordan’s hands are huge, that’s why he hand such impressive control and would use it in dunks and fakes Also imagine that this athleticism was so so far beyond anything, Jordan was a trailblazer for every basketball player you see or have seen
Jordan was a great player and a great showman no to mention being humble when asked about other great players before him. I feel great respect for His Airness Michael Jordan.
Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, the great Jim Thorpe... These are generational talents. All was or could have been supreme Olympic athletes. James is athletic but Wilt Chamberlain was more athletically gifted. If Jordan played today he would have averaged over 40 points per game and of beaten EVERYONE & you would be saying he is the greatest of all time because you could have seen it. Check out Jordan versus LeBron goat debate video, many others have reacted to it. Eye opening.
What do you mean they didn't have a work out like that back then @ 9:56 ? it's like you young bucks think they inject nano machines in today's athletes or somethin. Yall act like they just discovered human physiology 10 years ago. I promise you that everything there is to know about human anatomy was also known in the Jordan era and work outs were just as effective for the type of basketball of that era, which was more physical. In fact, basket ball players of the 90's and 2000's were bigger and stronger than today. Go look at images of young Alonzo Mourning, Karl Malone, young slim Shaq, Larry Johnson just to name a few. These monsters were built like comic book heroes. Players of today all look skinny and frail. There were a lot more players built like Lebron back in those days.
The Clown must be copying MJ23 even a movie space jam...wait I remember another movie titled Like Mike.....hmmmm? So I'll be waiting for that....the title is.... "Like Bron" nyahahahaha lol 😂😂😂
Dont forget he got swept 6-0 by the best ever - Larry Legend... And lebron? Lol hes a ref assisted stat pad. Trwvels, cwrries, charges, flops. Thats yourgoat?
He had a lot you have to admit? Hang time? Just admit that everything you saw blew you away. The only TRUTH is that there is nothing that Lebron does in any aspect of playing ability that comes even close to MJ. The ONLY two things Lebron has are the total points record, and longevity! Longevity equals the total points scored record so ONE category of play. The VAST majority of Lebron's points are scored within 3 feet or less of the rim, i.e. layups, putbacks and dunks AND MJ equals him there but far outscores him outside of 3 feet of the rim (Lebron 30% MJ 50%) Lebron is all SHOW, EGO and SELF promotion but still ONLY an average player who SHOPS championship teams like a butterfly. When he has teams that can't produce his first comment is about how it's the fault of the team not him. MJ NEVER made excuses but BUSTED his ass in practice, games and the off season to be the best he could be. Lebron is lucky if he's top 5 and the statistics prove he may only be top 10. He's certainly a great player in a generation where the game is so open and soft and uncontested, and certainly HOF material but top 10 likely NO!
Lebron would have been great in the ERA of Jordan. Lebron's career would not be as long if he played back then. Because of the physical play back then. I will give Lebron credit all day everyday. But NO WAY IS HE BETTER THAN MJ!!!!!!
Hey man what number are you wearing? Yea! The Lakers Jersey you have on right now? Is that the #23? No way! Really? His NBA career was amazing, but what he did his freshman year at UNC was historic beyond the NBA.
9:30; I cannot believe he actually did a skyhook in an NBA game. He had THAT in his back pocket. Dudes simply the greatest. He can literally do anything out there. He has the most unguardable move as apart of his arsenal.
The video you should check out is: Michael Jordan's HISTORIC Bulls Mixtape.. it's the best compiliation of jordan highlights, and it goes in chronological order through his career. :D
LoL ... I truly feel sorry for these young bucks ... Growing up in the 80s being lucky enough to watch the true GOATS ... Magic and the Fucking Legend Larry Joe Bird , MJ ... These guys played like they had a set of NUTS ... They hustled their ass off and played with Heart... Can you say the same about this modern day cupcake league ??
How can anybody watch these MJ mixtapes and say he's not just the best, but he's a freaking alien! You can't teach this or practice this, it all God given. I mean who's reflexes are that quick except a cat. Hence the nickname"The Black Cat" Unbelievable!
Im a goofy 42 white dude who grew up with all bruthaz and when the knicks and bulls played my apt complex was a block party fireworks, fights, and most of all LOVE much Love.
Lebron is the greatest in longevity and thats all. MJ is way better than any player that played NBA basketball!! He would dominate every era he played in. No weakness in offense and defense!! the TRUE GOAT!!
NO one uses LeBron as the standard for measuring greatness. That is not because LeBron isn't great. He is arguably the second or third greatest basketball player to lace them up. It's because Jordan is in the way. He will ALWAYS be in LeBron's way. I saw them both and it isn't bias or nostalgia that has me placing Jordan above LeBron. He is more accomplished in less time. He has a higher offensive rating, better career defensive rating, beats him in the classic 8 stats, has a higher PER, Box Plus/Minus, win share avg., and just as many VORP leading seasons as LeBron. But he has more championships, MVPs, more finals MVPs, just as many all-star MVPs, More Defensive Player Awards, Defensive 1st team selections, and more steals titles, but his opponents averaged more wins than LeBron's.
you said LeQuit is still dominant??? dude has 5000 turnovers, many of them off of terrible decisions or clumsiness, he can't dribble worth a sht, he has no footwork, all he does is barrel into people expecting bailouts by refs, and when he doesn't get them, he gives up on the play and instead of helping his team out, he takes the time to get in the refs face to complain, for which he never gets technical foul calls, all you young guns need to stop calling that fraud the GOAT. I personally don't have him in my top 100 even, he's not even the best player right now, yeah so what if he has the most points, how did he get those points?? Now even average players score 35 points, in the 90's if a player scored 30, his name was usually MJ, Hakeem, Barkley, etc, and its not cause todays players are more talented or better, its cause defense is basically not allowed!!! Dude, I like your presentation style, you're articulate, but please, stop giving clueless and empty opinions on the most overrated, overhyped loser of all time
may be ? what do u mean may be ? this is not according to u or me it's real it's the facts if u say lebron is the goat this is an oppinion do u say Biden is not my president yes but this is your oppinion but Biden is the president of USA this is the fact. So MICHAEL JORDAN is the best player ever in NBA and the GOAT this is not an oppinion this is fact according to stats and world who watched JORDAN and LEBRON on live. U didnt watch Jordan on live u only watched Lebron on live.
All youbyougstas say the same thing about the foot slip🤣🤣🤣🤣he's actively dribbling so no it's not a travel. Tenacious on D is an understatement!! One of the best, if not the best, defensive players of all time!!!!!!!
Alot of the younger folks believe that those from the MJ era is just player hating, but the term goat we believe is being loosely thrown around these days. If u switch to football it's the same thing, I sincerely believe Messi could not even make the bench on a Maradona championship Argentinian team. What has lebron single handedly done for u to consider him goat. And we aren't sayin MJ didn't get help from Scottie, but in those do or die moments MJ took the responsibility of being that guy and 10/10 he was successful at it. We just can't say the same for LeBron
I mean honestly you still think LeBron is the goat I’m just laughing ha ha it’s so freaking funny black Jesus is my brother black Jesus number 23 from North Carolina
LeBron couldn't fill Jordan's shoes I think Jordan and the bulls are 6-0 in the finals Jordan's shooting % in the finals and playoffs blows LeBron out of the water
Have you reacted to 50 facts that prove Michael Jordan was a God on the court? Here’s the link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V3lgZcAmLFA.html
I grew up watching Jordan play. I always loved it when he would smile when he amazed even himself with some shots. Especially the shoulder shrug in Portland after hitting 7 3 pointers in a row.
The only people on this planet that think LaBron James is better than Jordan are fanboys too young and lazy to know any better, LaBron sicofants, and a skinny white dude named Wick Night who would tell you the moon is made of cheese if you'd give him $10 so he could buy 5 more suits and have enough left over to put gas in his Mercury Tracer he keeps parked behind a dumpster.
