Hats off to both directors. And Coogler definitely added greatness to a classic franchise that had the same effect of a classic hip-hop song. When you listen to So Many Tears by Pac or even Summer Madness by the Kool & the Gang, you feel a certain emotion, it takes you back to a time. The Black Panther film did that, and it did what classic films use to do. I remember seeing Bay Boys 1 at a drive inn movie theater with my father, then we listened to the soundtrack riding home, it had a feeling to it. Great movies and songs leave you with nostalgia, and carry you to a special place, your team did that. BP presented celebration, happiness, it was also a film that my family enjoyed together. We should all aspire to create classics, because that’s what the greats do. This was definitely giving back to the creative community. Great podcast right here!

A film studio making audio-only content is an extreme let down, ngl. The fact that these podcasts have deceiving pictures as thumbnails or start with a short video clip is going to significantly lower the reach. I was excited and pretty immediately disappointed when I realized what was going on clicking a few of these. I see whoever running this section for Proximity commenting here and there. I'd appreciate a response. Help us all understand the reasoning and goal for restricting video to social media. Are we trying to sell the video via Patreon or get to a subscriber cap before release? I'm confused.

I think he meant the black community had just endured the Trayvon Martin murder, and because of the racial connotations of that case, he was worried that making the film could be insensitive given the subject matter. So he wanted to approach it with tact, so as to not re-traumatize his own community by accidentally making light of the situation.
