I need these two to collaborate again.Their artistic chemistry is otherworldly (pun intended) and I can only imagine the new concepts and technologies they could adapt making more projects. I don't want Nope 2, I want Jordan Peele and Hoyte Van Hoytema 2.
I didn’t particularly like the film. Personally it’s indulgent on a level I can’t get on but I do love the Akira homage is great (I think Peele should direct the live action OVER Taika for many, many reasons) and Keke Palmer was great but this movie is on a level I can’t get with.
Peele actually thinks that Hollywood would let him make an Akira live-action adaptation with an all-Japanese cast. All Asians in America are only 4% of the population. A Hollywood adaptation of Akira was never going to work. You would have had to divorce it radically from the manga and anime movie adaptation to work in any feasible way.
