@@shelbukowski1443 The "so what" is that its impossible to be altruistic as long as being "good" bestows a personal benefit. Self-sacrifice by definition requires that the actor give of themselves without gaining anything in return. Salvation from Hell isn't the result of the action of the Christian, but the result of the self-sacrifice of Christ and is a free gift to the lost. The assertion that fear of Hell is the prime mover of good works is false for the Christian. Those who accept the gift of Christ's sacrifice are free from fear of Hell, and can proceed through life doing good for good sake, rather than to "earn" a ticket into Heaven. No Christian lives up to this ideal, but that's why the ideal exists. It's an aspirational goal.

You wanna know what really fascinates me about this - two very brilliant men here. Jordon, supposedly representing Christianity, doesn't understand it's a childlike faith (meaning it's not hard to understand) that we can do absolutely nothing to save ourselves. Ben on the other hand, representing Judaism, fully understands what I just said but prefers not to believe it. He thinks Jesus was just some dude who tried to convince people to overthrow the Roman government, yet nothing about his life suggests that at all. In fact it's the opposite - many of the people who wanted to follow Him ended up being disappointed because he didn't do that very thing. They wanted a political Messiah, which is not why Jesus came in the first place. Bottom line friends - on political issues, they both rock, don't look to either one of these guys for theological truth.

As Christians, your organizations teach that history is irrelevant and that pledging allegiance to the church is more important than the man named Jesus who led a revolt against Rome and was crucified for the revolt, not for religious disputes. If 70% of your congregations are fake or ignorant, that is the fault of the church. As a Christian which means follower of christ or (Christ like) do you support and tolerate LGBTQ? Do you tolerate it? Do you advocate for it? Because i guarantee you that Jesus if he was here he wouldn't. Some are Christians who struggle with obedience in that department, just as 'straight' or intentionally celibate Christians may struggle in parallel ways, or different ways altogether. But when Christian clergy perform ceremonies for LGBT couples, they are WAY out of line. Also I consider it disingenuous and OFFENSIVE when LGBT struggles for recognition are placed on a par with struggles for justice on the part of oppressed ethnic minorities or racial groups. The comparison is based on fuzzy thinking, and belittles undeserved suffering.
