He was, but what's worse is that he came from where most people want to go, Heaven. His death was to be cut off and forsaken from His place there so by believing in Him we could go where He returned to.
Yes I’m his short life he went through evvery temptation that exists and he took every sure so we can have every blessing. He allowed them to take him captive so we could be free. Jesus was hurt so we could be healed. Jesus died so we could live. Jesus was punished so we could be forgiven. Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness so we could be made right with his righteousness. Jesus endured our poverty so we could endure his abundance. Jesus bore our shame so we could share in his glory. Jesus endured rejection so we could have acceptance with the Father. Jesus was made a curse so we could enter into the blessing.
i think of this when people say, "why do bad things happen" as an excuse to pretend like God doesnt exist. God allowed the worst thing to happen to HIMSELF... FOR OUR SAKE... in order to give us the path to eternity and open the door for us.
That doesn't really solve the problem... Just because I allow myself to get shot doesn't give me the right to stab YOU... no one says God can't exist because of bad things... We say the model of your god being both all powerful AND all good simultaneously is logically inconsistent with all the bad we see in reality....
@amac9044 this is the big argument that pops up all the time. But here's what's happening. God is all good but he allows evil to happen bc God gave us free will. There is no light without dark. If there was no evil there wouldn't be good bc we have nothing to compare it to. If he killed off all evil there would be no free will and faith wouldn't be a thing. Bc we would know for a fact that we are no longer in control and just being controlled like a puppet. He doesn't want that for us
you are so arrogant, humble yourself because not everyone is you, "pretend there is no God", i grew up as an agnostic atheist, i saw horrible things happen to splendid people, i came to the conclusion that erasing the whole universe would be the best option as long as there would still be a single child suffering an agonizing life, then after years of self-development at 20 yewrs old i began to enjoy life truly, iimvestigated spirituality and with reason i understood what and who God is and his virtues, the truth, but i can assure you even if i know beloeve in God i have never pretended that tere was not a God, i just didn't know there was one, it seemed very unlikely to me, not obvious at all since all i would see was evil, misery and pain, and yet you people think atheists just pretend, and yiu even insist, putting more wood on fire, know that what you do returns to you, you reap what you sow, if you judge prepare to be judged in the same way, with the same malevolence behind, becase that is what you transmit, therefore that is what will return.
Plus your own mother is there having her heart broken watching all this happen to you. Plus all you've ever done is help and bless people. Plus your unending love for the world has been met with scorn.
@@andrewbeasley4788Have you read Acts brother? The book subsequently after the gospels. If you read that entire book, and tell me the apostles had time to sit and write and edit and discuss and disseminate the gospels targeted to all audiences thousands of years later, directly after Jesus died, while being hunted for the same reason Jesus was killed, I'll throw my Bible out the window and call it a day. If not, I challenge you to read the entire bible first, in context, and it will change your life as it did mine, as a former non-believer. God bless you :-)
@@andrewbeasley4788Paul’s letter to the Galatians was written in 48 A.D., 15 years after Christ’s crucifixion. There are no reputable scholars who would maintain Jesus didn’t live. Whatever their standpoint, the agreed consensus is that Jesus Christ was at least baptised and was crucified. God bless you.
@@andrewbeasley4788first, there were writings about him. Second, do you know that 2 thousand years ago writing books was slow and took many years ? They didnt have printers, book press... Everything by hand. Books had to be crafted, pens, ink... And write a MASTERPIECE like this takes mamy years. Third, even historians agree that Jesus existed.
Our Lord Jesus Christ I look to You for Your answers only 🙏 You are the only one that I may trust 😮and confide in. You are my all-in all. I give my life to You only. I am not worthy to even lay at Your feet to try and want to touch You...I give my everything to You...I ask that You take me and guide me my precious Jesus Christ ✨️ 💖 🙏
The biggest plus is that he had the power to come down off the cross but yet willingly chose to die on it. Nothing more tragic then that because if anyone had that power we would never willingly be tortured and killed. Think about this for a moment. How many kings have existed that would willingly take the place of Jesus for us?
@moeezawan2329 He said this because it had to be done. In order for us to be forgiven, Jesus had to take our sins upon Himself. That is the only moment the Father and the Son were separated. That is the only moment Jesus becomes sin for our own sake. Hope this answers. God bless you my friend
It's so good there is someone with so much conscience like Jordan Peterson. He can understand how serious things really are, like, about everything, when everyone else just doesn't give a damn
Isaiah 53:4-5 KJV "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." ✝️
years ago a scholar friend said that "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani" was part of a praise song rather than one of despair. I love the idea of Jesus praising God the Father during is extreme suffering rather than complaining
Minus this.....There was no father at all may be.....He was a man who taught us not to worship any idol but US...and everyone by telling someone resides within us....great concept
WE CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE THE PAIN AND SGONY JESUS WENT THROUGH TO PAY FOR OUR SINS!!! HIS FLESH WAS RIPPED FROM HIS BODY, AND HE SUFFERED FOR EVERY SIN THAT HUMANITY COMMITTED!!!!! HE HAD TO TAKE ON THE PAIN THAT WE SHOULD HAD SUFFERED!!! THANK YOU GOD ALMIGHTY FOR SAVING US!!!!
The pain and suffering is real though. Jesus is God. He is the creator. Do you understand what kind of power He has? What kind of holiness? Yet He gave that all up and felt all that pain and shame for us. Because He said, if you have to go through suffering in this life, I will go to even more suffering. I will lead by example. This is why He is the only one worthy. Jesus is Lord.
Plus he's the God of the universe and could have wiped them out with a glance! But he chose to set mankind free from sin death and damnation! Jesus Christ is king!
Yes I’m his short life he went through evvery temptation that exists and he took every sure so we can have every blessing. He allowed them to take him captive so we could be free. Jesus endured our poverty so we could endure his abundance. Jesus bore our shame so we could share in his glory. Jesus endured rejection so we could have acceptance with the Father. Jesus was made a curse so we could enter into the blessing.
Plus, the shame is public for all to see (not privately in pain, ... etc But publicly humiliated, suffering excruciating physical & emotional pain..) not to mention that his mother is there for all this I am sure is his worst pain
I saw a documentary about the physician, explaining exactly how crucifixion works. I was horrified! I knew it was bad, but I didn’t know exactly how bad it was till I saw the documentary. Simply horrifying!
Good analogy Jordan. However the greatest part of the story is his Resurrection. He defeats, death, hell and the grave. Now seated in heaven where there is no more pain or suffering. Perfect peace. Many people who have NDE's did not even want to come back here. Everything in heaven is exactly as he said it is for Christians. Especially surrounded by Gods love.
My child self would agree but that’s because I didn’t see the bigger picture. Yes, as far as the human aspect of the story goes it is a terribly tragic time for one man but human life is finite. When our time comes where will the sinners go? If they believe in Jesus our lord and saviour and repent for their sins they will spend eternity in heaven. Without Jesus’ suffering and bearing the burden of all our sins we would be stuck for eternity in a vast loveless, black void. It’s a tragic tale but a triumphant end 🙏
Actually.. it is the complete opposite of the most tragic story. It is the most victorious, powerful event to ever take place on earth. Jesus Christ WILLINGLY went on the cross. When the soldiers came He asked Himself twice "Who are you looking for?" So He could answer I AM and all the soldiers (app. 200) were blown to the ground! Jesus Christ was God in the flesh Who willingly went on the cross. It was God's masterplan. Barabbas? Bar abbas.. it literally means translated son of the father! They let go of 'the son of the father' and instead crucified THE SON OF THE FATHER. You know who Barabbas was? It is you and me! We are all guilty before God, like Barabbas was, and those who accept that Christ took the punishment for them are free to go!!! It is the miraculous exchange at the cross! ❤
And still some people blashemy our lord and saviour Jesus Christ and hes followers 😢 Jesus is King of Kings alpha and the omega beggining and the end, the way the truth and the life Aamen ✝️🙏
JESUS IS THE ONLY GOD WHO WENT THROUGH EVERY HUMAN SUFFERING AND THIS WOUNDED MAN FORGAVE HIS PERSECUTORS WON HEAVEN FOR US THROUGH HIS SUFFERING AND HEALED THE EYE OF THE ONE WHO PIERCED HIM BY JUST ONE DROP OF JÉSUS'S BLOOD TOUCHING HIS EYE . O HOW I LOVE JÉSUS MY SAVIOUR WHO CONQUERED SIN SATAN DEATH AND HELL.
But then it was finished. The crucifixion is a tragedy to the flesh and an overwhelming accomplishment to the spirit. From that tragedy came the opportunity to pass into a better realm once judgment has been carried out. The sings are clear. He'll return soon and not as a savior but as a warrior. I don't want to be found on the wrong side of that sword.
“ A tyrant who dotes truth “ ? The Truth that God so Loved The World that he sent his only begotten Son not to condemn the world but through him the world may be saved is the ✝️RUTH JOHN 3:16
The disciples thought He was gonna free them from Roman oppression...He didn't....He freed them and the world from something much more oppressive...themselves. Not just temporarily in this life...but in Eternity too
dude Jesus suffered.. he made a sacrifice for us.. it's a tragedy as well as it is a victory for us.. it's a testament of God's love for us.. praise the Lord!
@@matthewweyers905 that wouldn't be saying much, most people, especially those who go to seminary, are biblically illiterate. They learn a whole bunch of traditions and stuff but what the Bible actually says ain't one of them.
I’m sure I could imagine something even more painful. At least Jesus is the most famous person of all time. Imagine going through all that and being an absolute nobody and no one knew of you or remembered you.
Jesus chose to die to pay our penalty THANK YOU JESUS ✝️AMEN 🙏AMEN 🙏He didn’t have to he could had called down 70,000 angels and wipe this world out !!! Bro
Plus your loved ones have to watch and are unable to stop it. Plus you know all of this is coming ahead of time. Plus you have the ability to stop it and you choose not to, in order to sacrifice for those who hate you.
Jesus was perfect man, he did not have a spirit of fear.. He did feel pain and betrayal, he could your thoughts, go through and see all the times he did that. He did not sweat blood from fear. As a human we cannot begin to conceive how a perfect man was going to take on sin. Sin he was innocent of. That's why he said father is there any other way.
Because God Almighty said it would happen, when he was in the garden with Satan. HE WILL CRUSH THE HEAD AND BRUISE HIS HEEL. From that day on Satan did everything he could to disrupt the lineage of Jesus Christ. He is the son of God.
Judas was not Jesus's best friend. He was one of the apostles, yes. But Jesus's best friends were Peter, John and James. Everything else Jordan said I agree with. And thank you Jesus for willingly laying down your life for me.❤
It was a sacrifice only GOD could do! Standing for hours, going without food and water! Placed in a horrendously filthy cell. Long everything else---no bones broken but they competed to try! Our LORD was totally unrecognizable! HIS flesh was literally ripped from HIS BODY! For GOD so Loved the world… Hallelujah to our LORD and our GOD !!
And thus paying this price He can offer us his creatures eternal life with Him and Yahweh but WE MUST CHOOSE by accepting the Holy Spirit into our hearts as Lord of our life or rejecting Him and so becoming a part of the world of Satan with Hell as our final destination 😞
And you know that your Father in heaven has to turn His back on you because of your acceptance of our sins upon you! Thank you, Jesus, for leaving the 99 for me!
For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.” John 10:17-18
It is important to remember that Jesus, though he knew and accepted his fate, was utterly terrified of it. His execution would not only be the most brutal form known to man, but it would be his first and last experience with the sensation of physical pain. The beating beforehand, quite literally within an inch of his life, were the attempts by Pilate to satisfy the mob without having to kill Jesus, so that was essentially unnecessary added suffering that even the criminals sentenced to crucifixion did not face. Jesus knew that all of this was coming and it scared him so badly that he asked for a way out even though he knew there would not be one. His horror was so intense that he poured sweat at the very thought of it. He spent his last hours as a free man doing nothing but praying and mentally preparing to face the worst possible death, far worse than you can even imagine. Worst of all, he lived long enough to see God turn away from him, unable to even look upon the sin of the world bearing down on Jesus. No human being has ever suffered like Jesus before or since.
Peshitta Bible John Ch8 Jesus said : (12) "I AM THE LIVING GOD, The Light of the world. Whoever follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall find the light of life." (18) I AM THE LIVING GOD, Description In the region and time of Mohammed, the Bible translation of the so-called "people of the Book" (viz., Christians) would have been the Syriac Peshitta. There were no other translations in Arabia at that time. The first Arabic Bible translation was not until late ninth century (i.e., the Sinai Arabic Codex 151-c. A.D. 867). The Quran teaches - that the Injil (Gospel) was sent down by Allah as "a guide to mankind" (Sura 3:3); as a "Guidance and light" (5:46); the means of how the "people of the Book are to Judge; and If the anyone Fails to use the Gospel to Judge - he or she is rebellious (5:47). And "None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all" (6:115; cf. 114). Therefore, the Gospel (and Torah) that the Syrian Christian church embraced in the sixth and seventh centuries (in the time of Mohammed) was fundamentally the exact same Gospel that biblical Christians embrace today-namely, the death, burial, and physical resurrection of the Lord
You forgot the most beautiful part Jordan. The watchers had been ruling over mankind in pagan cultures for centuries. Yeshua himself laid his claim to us. He gave his powerful blood to pay the debt of our sins. This doesn't mean it's a license to sin. The wages of sin are still death. It means he spared us and now the onus is on us if we want to have that rescue. That salvation from the abyss.
All these things are so sad but Jesus KNEW it had to happen or we wouldn’t be save from our sins 😢 We aren’t worthy, but we were worth it in his eyes! And Jesus knew that some people still wouldn’t believe and he died for them anyways
i don't believe his crucifiction it's the most traig death, because the whole meaning pf pathos revolves around sorrow with meaning that is purpose, it makes you endure even the worst, but there are many other deaths in history that were so horrible and were done to imperfect people that had no way to defend themselves, the blood eagle done by vikings is not even the worst one in my opinion, so many horrible death, even nowadays, what could be a worse death than an life spent in agony, that is what some children live because of horrible people, like genie, those who did those things were really horrible people.
You absolutely can write a more tragic story. For example, what if Jesus had to watch his mother be treated the same way? What if they forced him to torture her himself? What if Jesus had a wife and children who also shared the same fate? What if all of Jesus’s disciple’s were crucified along with him? What if Jesus never rose from the grave and sin and death were not defeated? The cross is about a hero’s victory over sin and death and evil, which doesn’t seem like a tragedy in the literary sense.
The death of Christ may not be so tragic as an example of submission. In John 11 and in Christ resurrecting - Christ demonstrates death answers to him - that He is the resurrection? At the end of John 11 - everyone’s grief for Lazarus was ended as Lazarus was alive from the dead. Death is conquered with Christ who is the resurrection and we can be immortals in Christ. Christians aren’t selling a club membership - but Christs gift of immortality.
