I understand where Israel is coming from, but you literally can’t be in the middle of a ceased fire negotiation, truly wanting a cease-fire and then killed the person negotiating on the other side. When you do that you wreck any good faith that might’ve existed for a cease-fire. Assume the opposite had occurred heaven forbid Israel would not be looking for a cease-fire if leader of cease-fire talks was killed. I know there’s a strong argument that you are negotiating with terrorist, but remember the goal here is a cease-fire that innocent people can hopefully live in peace one day. You can’t take out someone who is actively negotiating with you and say let’s continue negotiating. The person who has been taken charge as HAMAS leader is a hardliner and his objectives are the objectives of Iran. Hence the ceasefire deal is an impossible mission. The Palestinians are suffering from all sorts of poverty for the developmental funds so far had been utilised for building underground terrorists infrastructures. October 7 was well planned with the perception that Israel will not be able to access those tunnels and all proxies of Iran will target Israel from all borders. Whatever efforts the international communities are trying to avoid regional conflicts will not be effective till Iran is stopped.
