Fun Fact: "The scream" is known as the "Wilhelm Scream" and is used in countless films since it was first used in 1951 in a western film called "Distant Drums"!
@@tellingyoustories some clinics/hospitals have dress codes for med students clinical rotations and they don't allow sneakers they allow nurse shoes and for some wear reason this type of shoe. Before these ones I used a model of DC shoes that looked like nurse shoes but obviously they weren't. The DC shoes and these ones are the most comfortable for people that are walking and standing the whole day.
I remember when Crocs were worn by nurses, cooks and kitchen staff only. Everything you said I agree 💯. Including the toy collection stuff. Same era as you. 😎
Crocs sales are high because the sneaker head screwed everyone by not being able to purchase (BOTS) and resale are overpriced. So kids and teenagers can only afford crocs. I drop my son off at school and no one is Jordan’s just crocs
As a former action figure collector, I did witness the freak out over the packaging change. Gotta admit that the new packaging looks weird, but not worth getting upset over.
Until the fig swaps start appearing. Those cardboard holders are janky as hell too, so what are the chances store associates want to mess with it to check and verify return contents?
usually I look and compare paint jobs, nothing hurts more then opening up a box and seeing thor looking left and right at the same time with his lazy eyes
Nightwing you’ve earned my trust so wholeheartedly over the years, due to your commitment and dedication to shoe culture, that I “like” before even watching the video. Salute to you sir and the misses.
These "sold out" on SNKRS in less than 30 seconds when they were released. I'm talking, in all sizes. The level of suspension of disbelief it takes to think that's even possible is incredible. Now these are in outlets. I guess believe what you want to believe. I'm with Chris, if you need a slipper, buy an actual slipper.
Gotta love how Nike holds its stock back to give the illusion that it’s products are selling out. Fake it till you make it should be the foreword before just do it.
@@WearTesters profits suffer when products don't move. nike has data showing % of early adopter to value buyers so they use diff channels to reach them at diff prices - product lifecycle is key - nike can afford to price play b/c their cost of goods model is unmatched - that's the cheat code here
Here in Brazil it released two or three weeks ago and it's sitting. I got one, I use it with the insole or with the sleeve and it fits perfectly. Without the insole it's just too big. I'm enjoying it :)
I love driving without shoes, this can be a nice compromise. Drive with the inside "sock" and just pop in the foam outter shoe when I get to my destination without getting my socks dirty. The other examples of similar shoes use laces wich kills that versatility.
I've got 2 pairs of the Adidas clogs. They are worn around the house almost exclusively, they're ridiculously comfortable and I now prefer them to my slippers. However, out of the house, I'm super conscious of wearing them.
Here in the Philippines you’d see foam shoes everywhere, worn mostly by riders who use motorcycles either for commute or delivery service work. It’s the perfect daily shoe for motorcyclists here as it’s comfy, offers enough closed-toe protection, and can be worn rain or shine, given our tropical climate where a 40-degree C heat can be followed anytime by heavy downpour.
The 4th option is, believe it or not, is to put those additional insoles inside the actual shoes minus the Elephant print ones. That was actually the most comfortable after I tried all the different scenarios. But for me it defeated the whole purpose of foam shoes!
That Michelle Branch bits caught me off-guard. I love that song (& that album "The Spirit Room") with a passion. Takes me back to my high school days. Here in the Philippines, I see more people wearing Crocs, or foam runners, or clogs, as they call it. (Because it's currently rainy season here) Brands like Peak, 361°, & Merrell have their own version of FRs as well. I have the Peak one with the Taichi insole, & they're mad comfortable. Perfect for your everyday walks & stuff
Yo , I had the And1 slip on's , and they were mad comfortable . Thanks for another banger of a review Weartesters . These " Foam Jordan's " are terrible ! Peace and blessings y'all . 🙏
You aren’t lying about these. Jordan Brand is a grand known for setting trends. In 2022 they have seemingly become desperate. Between these and a lot of bad colorways of retros I sense some fatigue in their design department.
I can appreciate Nike trying to cut down on waste but I think it's a BAD idea to ship shoes only in their box. The label will be so easy to read and I bet there will be a lot of theft happening during the shipping process, especially with big releases.
I'm sure others have said this, but I really don't want to read through all the other comments, but the main issue with no windows on Marvel Legends will be figure swaps... its already a problem WITH windows as clerks don't seem to verify that returns are the correct thing in box. Also, its always nice to be able to look at a few on the shelf and pick your favorite paint job. More of a reason to just buy from online stores rather than hunt retail. Anyhow, as always--love you both!
Saw you in the And1 doc, flipped out. I had a pair of those And1 slip ons, thought they were ugly n rocked em everywhere cuz they were comfy. Bought em for 1 of the mixtapes.
Nah bro…. Grow up, work hard af, like really bust your ass, acquire back problems, as well as foot issues and then tell us “foam” shoes are a “young peoples” thing and see if you still mean it lol
lol - the whole time you were complaining (up to the point where you said it), I was thinking "Chris... you're just getting old" It's a circle-of-life thing. I'm ~10yrs older, and I remember struggling to embrace the 'next wave' back in the day b/c it felt like a slap in the face to my og sensibilities. Cheer up tho - time passes and eventually it becomes easier to accept the NEXT-next wave. Nowadays, I still don't dig classic crocs, but I'm down for their new Mellow slides. And I'm not mad about buying them for my teenage kids. As always, thank you both for the great work!
Being a dad to a preteen let me tell you if you go to any middle school or high school most kids are wearing crocs or foam runners. Times have changed.
The foam runner is so out there it’s actually a unique shoe that can add something to an outfit, if done correctly. This thing just looks like a pool shoe… like if i saw someone wearing this in public I’d just assume they were too lazy to lace up a real pair of shoes. That’s exactly what some people want tho.
I remembered back in the days having that and1 slip on. During that time whenever you have one, your shoes is the bomb. Not gonna lie! Those were the days! It is comfy as hell! Better than nike sock dart.
I’ll stick to a pair of crocs when I get a pair and foam rnnrs if I get a pair. I have a pair of yeezy slides and those are really comfortable. I wouldn’t normally wear slides or open footwear that’s not a shoe outside but those are the exceptions. I do appreciate Jordan brand for trying something new even if I don’t like it. Also appreciate you for reviewing it for those who might want to know more about it.
Nice to meet another snaker and toy collector. Love your reviews. With the new windowless packages for figures the main reason why we are upset is sometimes we as collectors worry about the paint apps. We can see before we buy any mistakes in the figures when there was a window. Figures here in Toronto aren't cheap for licences like Marvel Legends and G.I.Joe at $44.99 CDN. And when you cannot see until you open is just so frustrating. Also Toys "R" Us here made a policy that these figures are final sale.
I HAD the Air Jordan XV 15 and Air Jordan VII 7 slip on shoes back in the day. I actually liked the 15 slip on for it made for a nice Summer season shoe. The 7 slip on shoes ran small and were a pain just to put on. As for this Jordan System 23....pass. But, thank you, again, for the overall video review of the product. As always, much appreciated. BTW, nice to know Chris is a fellow action figure collector.
Back in 1990's in the villages of my country people were using this type of shoe called "kaloshi" to feed the animals as it was easy to clean them afterwards. BTW about AND1 I loved this brand. In 2004 have seen first time their mixtapes...Times to Times even now I check what The Professor does)))
Hi Nightwing, Long time viewer here! Would love to see you review more of some of the other shoe brands/ styles that aren't quite basketball adjacent but are worthy of a sneakerhead's critique imo. Maybe some brands such as New Balance, Hoka, On Cloud, Salomon, Keen, Merrell can be featured too! And more running shoes/trail runners, lifestyle shoes, hiking, etc if it piques your interest!
We have reviews of those shoes on WearTesters.com. The time and costs it takes us to create video isn't worth the limited views they receive. If more people signed up for our Discord community so we could earn on those types of videos then it would be considered, but as of now we'd be spending more than it would be bringing in revenue wise and is not feasible.
@WearTesters // I would argue sneaker brands did this back in the 90s. I remember having a pair of Adidas EQT bball kicks that were like this (best implementation IMO). SIA is more of a reincarnation as well as these but I do believe Nike had a pair of their own back then as well.
I used to wear them to class in college . That’s my core memory of crocs. But I had those and one shoes with the tai chi shoes. And 1 was one of the first sports brands to bring leisure comfort for off court shoe with there slipper.
The only one of these foam things that I like the look of so far is the Adidas Foam Q (despite the controversy). Still don't think I'll be buying unless they get discounted.
That random Michelle Branch reference made me have LSS on that song man. Felt like a kid again. 😂 Can you also check the Peak Tai Chi out too? It's been a massive hit here in PH because of its comfort.
Seems like you could wear these at the gym too… especially on machines, rowing… or bench press, etc.. maybe take the outer shell off if your gym has a pool.. then get out, pop the shell back on… the only thing they probably wouldn’t be good for, would be anything dealing with running, jogging, etc…. Bicycling… not sure… but definitely he reviewed the ugliest, plain Jane color option… lol btw, just subscribed
I couldn’t agree more with you I don’t know why her crocs and his foam shoes are so popular it makes no sense to me in the quality of shoes has just gone down on certain models and in some ways I guess. Just seem to be trying to overcharge and make “lighter” Products for some reason :s.
In that TC collection from And1, The lows are trash, but, the other shoes ,the white mids, especially the all black ones, were kinda fire. Call me crazy, but I'd rock those.. Lol
If jordan brand retros all those slip ons. I think they should thank nytwing for it. Or at least this vid could be a good prediction of whats to come. Nowadays there are only a few legit sneakerheads. Everyone is tryin to be a reseller or already is. And all brands have clogs now, nike, jordan, converse (technicall all under nike), merrell, adidas and yeezy and others. Its the era of clog heads and resellers lol. Usually global recession is bad but for the sneakergame, its actually good. Stuff is starting to sit which can be bought by actual heads and people who wanna use their shoes. P.s. i dont hate resellers, i do have reseller friends and there are good types of resellers. But thats neither here or there. Great vid and welcome to the eras of clogs that looks like alien heads!!! Did i just pull a nytwing and go off on a super side tangent? Hahaha
I have these colorway, here’s my review: Go true to size or half size up if you are in between sizes and they don’t have the .5 size. I am TTS Nike 9 Look like nurse clogs forreal (I’m a nurse) Google: nurse clogs And that’s what feel i feel like I’m wearing, especially when I look down Shoe With the grey sock looking insert: wear THIN socks, or NO socks. (It will feel tight but I’m thinking it’s a stretch out/break in type of thing) Wearing Grey sock insert by itself isn’t comfortable, something that you would probably wear around the house if you aren’t trying to be barefoot, I guess. Shoe With regular insert: wear a sock (don’t matter thick or thin) Shoe Without insert: I’d wear a thick sock if you want it nicely fit , or if you trying to go bare then just know it’ll be a bit loose, if you trying to run a marathon then DO NOT GO BARE FOOT in these. If you just chilling then you can go barefoot. Comfort level 1. Foam Runners 2. Merrell 3. Crocs 4. Jordan System.23 (no matter what type of insert you are using) These aren’t comfortable at all. No matter the insert or no insert that you are using . Like WTF Nike. How you going to mess this up. NOT WORTH MONEY AT ALL. Like it should retail $70 ish cuz they aren’t great at all
The main complaint about the new packaging in Marvel legends its cause there's many quality control issues, like bad painting, bad sculp or missing parts, or even worse someone can steal the fig and repleace it and u didn't notice until you open it
I’ve been buying Legends since wave 1 of ToyBiz and have never once had missing parts. The other things are possibilities, but they’re also signs that the community has some bad eggs. Paint app issues aren’t as common as people claim too. I have thousands of these figures and there might be a couple with paint issues.
There would be riots in the streets if Retro Nike boxes are changed or removed entirely….. Now, regarding these shoes, we got them here in Canada very early. I bought them online, and couldn’t get the sizing right. So basically Size 10, which was too tight, and then I bought size 11 which was too large, I looked like having clown feet wearing those size! Goes to show you my true size is 10.5 lol 😂 but I tried them both and then ended up returning them both. These are expensive version of Crocs to be honest. The inserts are tricky too bc with the booty it’s tight. These were a pain to deal with. Those were $145 CAD plus tax…. Just not worth it for me. All my other Jordan’s fit perfectly fine… these were just off.
Hasbro seems to be getting rid of the plastic window in all their product lines, I collect Transformers and the recent Legacy figures dont have a plastic window anymore, its just open. But yeah, it is stupid to freak out over that, its just packaging.
You're onto something actually 🤔, if Nike made some sort of thing like the Adi Quake but with the Foamposite outlook, that could pop off if done right.
I don’t think it’s untapped. I think it isn’t discussed. Even when shoes like this become mainstream nobody talks about the original intention the product was created for - much like how basketball shoes aren’t talked about as basketball shoes. It’s what happens when the hype train gets ahold of something.
Years ago Nike made a very similar shoe but it was listed as a Nike water shoe. I can’t remember the name but I owned a pair. Help me out. I think they were called Nike Sunosi?
These are a "Hell to tha no!" I saw these in stores and thought they were Crocs. Isn't funny that Jordan Brand didn't even bother to color in their logo so it pops?
Thanks for informing me on something I definitely won't buy. My girls have crocs and I just can't do it even though I have tried them on and they are hella comfy. I just look down at my feet and cringe!!!! Thanks and keep grindin'!
