Rugby union commentators (at least the AU / NZ ones) have all put in effort to pronounce everyone's names properly for a few years now and even get the player's preferences. The few times I've watched NRL I couldn't believe how bad the pronunciation is
While Aus rugby is preparing for Lions 2025 and World Cup 2027, NZ appears to be in a death spiral compared to other eras. NZ has always had game-breaking players come through and overlap one another, but when the current crop all retire, no one of the same class is coming through. For example: Kronfield>Holah>McCaw>Kino>Reid>Cane/Savea, then who? Merts/Carlos>Carter>Barrett>Mounga, then who? Marshall>Kelleher>Perinara>Smith, then who? Williams>Jack>Whitelock>Retallic>Barret, then who? Little>Bunce>Umunga>Nonu>Smith>ALB>Goodhue, then who? Cullen>Macdonald>Muli'ina>Dagg>Barett, then who? The All Blacks will be devoid of many world-class players after rwc23 and will have a few lean years ahead. Australia, on the other hand, will raid the NRL and get better players that Eddie will shape into a winning team. And why not, it's about time they had their turn.
It's hilarious how all these Aussies think Razors ABs are gonna be struggling.Good luck for that prediction. The ACT Brumbies are the only team who compete week in week out in SR Pacific.
I love both codes. I love Manly Sea Eagles and NSW Waratahs. I watch both games interchangeably. I hope he has a lot of success. From an outsider looking in I don’t think this will make a massive change to RA. It seems that kids and people (even over here) are less interested in sports. That’s worrisome. I wish you guys the best. Watched Tahs Vs Chiefs highlights yesterday. Crowd was great. Too bad we lost.
@@usarugbyleagueunionfan Eddie hasn't coached a game yet but the one thing I have noticed since his signing is how much the media are pushing the youth agenda in the Super Rugby, and it's been fantastic to see.
@@archiebobo Yeah I'd love to see how much the earned/non-paid media stats have jumped since Eddie jumped on board. He knows how to manipulate the media cycle. That leaked draft team, one day he's talking about poaching leaguies and the next day on his podcast he says "I don't know what all this fuss is about wanting league players to cross codes, we should be building up our own talent." He's a media magician.
I think all the criticism towards Sualii being all about $$$ is fair. Sualii clearly screwed over Souths Sydney in negotioations, then used the Roosters as a platform to make a name of himself before the next phase of his original plan, which was always to defect to union to rake in as much $$$ as he can. I bet in 3-5 years time he'll next screw over the ARU & end up playing rest of his career in some rich Japanese or French rugby union club. ARU are idiots bending over backwards to kiss Sualii's ass at expense of their own loyal, hard working grass root players aspiring to also be wallabies. So Criticism of Suaill being a mercenary who only cares about $$$ is 100% deserved. But at end of day, let's face reality for vast majority of professional sports stars, ultimate factor is $$$
Yup I agree and good for him, it's a business, you never know when your career could end so get the $$ I say, Jharal Yow Yeh always comes to mind when I think how it could all end and he was a freaking superstar on his way to goat winger legacy, Aru are definetly crazy though🤦🏼♂
