That really is a good looking razor. Well done with your quest to be able to hone. I have started my straight razor journey. Making do with 2 Gold Dollar razors to start. First few shaves have been good although I believe one of the razors needs a new edge on it. Enjoy your weekend
You have any tips on getting a smile honed up? I know what you mean about being exhausted from just a conference or meet and greet. I don't fo that to often but I understand how tiring it can be
According to Matti, the trick is to mirror the shape of the smile with the strokes on the stone. Slight smile = slight curve of the stroke. Big smile = big curve of the stroke. That's all I've got!

I'm trying not to be a snob, so in the case of your miserable choice of lunch venue [a burger joint...] all I can say is that you didn't replicate the exiled and disgraced former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsanaro, who was photographed in a Florida KFC alone. He gets a small plus for sitting down, but food should NEVER be served in a bucket! (Nothing good can come from that, just look at what happend to Mr Creosote in Monty Python's Meaning of Life after he got all the starteds mixed in a bucket with the Eggs Benedictine on top.)
