In this video we'll explore Joseph Zbukvic watercolor clock. Zbukvic who wrote the classic "Mastering Atmosphere and Mood in Watercolor" It will unleash the full spectrum of watercolor effects and techniques from super soft dreamy wet in wet effects all the way down to bold and dark effects on dry paper.

Super informative, I tend (still) forget about the paper wetness & paint consistencies even though I know it. Moist, moist, moist. LOL You never fail to crack me up!

Wonderful explanation of vitally important techniques. seeing the theory "in action" was really helpful. When I saw the "watercolor clock" video, I thought it was going to be the late Terry Madden's (PBS watercolor artist) color clock. He refers to the color wheel aw a "color clock". To avoid muddy colors, one should only mix colors withing so many "hours' of the primary mixer. Sorry this is a bit off topic. Thanks again for your great content.

Ohh wow I’m going to have to get this book! I have really enjoyed learning about this way of painting levels for the brush & paint ratio for marks, techniques, textures, & effects. If you google "mastering atmosphere and mood in watercolor pdf" the first link (for me, anyway) should take you to Internet Archive. You can page through the book and read it. I took screen shots of the pages I wanted. HTH!
