I still think getting all those all-star type of positional player will not get you a world series or playoff. Just look at the Giants in all three championships, they didn't have great offensive player other than Posey, Panda, and Pence. The secret of Giants' success is they kept their young core pitchers, clearly Blue Jays does not have those core pitchers.
The 93 Jays had a horrible starting rotation (their best pitcher's ERA was almost 4.00), but they had an amazing offense which took them all the way to the WS championship. With that said, I would love it if they added another starter lol.
So? Doesn't make it any less true. The Jays also had their own little dynasty back then, winning back to back championships. If anything, it tells us that any team can be great as long as they can keep their core together for several years (and add to it). Not every team has to look like the Giants in order to win the WS, but it's hard not to admire their success.
I agree however they do have a number of young pitchers coming up now. Hutchinson, Stroman, Sanchez and Norris could all be fighting for rotation spots this year.
KardiFan2000 oh please, the playoffs are a crapshoot. the giants rotation bar bum wasn't even that good in 2014. if anything it proves that once you make the playoffs anything can happen.
