Josh has a great voice but imo it is not suited for this song. Bonnie Raitt's rendition is better and to my surprise, Linda Ronstadt's is even better.

Josh Groban has an amazing voice really love listening to him singing. You can hear every word he sings as well which you cant with every singer. I like to be able to hear the words. Josh has a very easy listening voice.

I can't help but feel the same way Josh does when he sings this. It's amazing when you meet someone who changes your whole outlook about life and about people. That's what happened to me when I met Josh. He'll always be a part of my life, or at least I know that I can remember that experience for as long as I have my memory. I hope that's forever, and I know that it can be. I thank God for that.

It was close to the time Joshua was born that I found a very small fine print advertisement in the back pages of a magazine where someone in LA CA was selling sandals which were high heeled and hidden inside the heels were wheels to roller skate. I knew at that time LA CA had something in it for me.

I really haven't heard a version of this song I DIDN"T like! They're all different voices and slightly different takes on it, but they are all wonderful! Can't understand why some comment so negatively based on voices they prefer. The person who said Josh is singing this song to "show off his voice" just doesn't perfer a bigger, more classically trained sound. You could ALWAYS say a singer is "showing off" their voice on any song!

The irony of that statement is staggering, tbh. I've been a fan of Josh since his career began, and I can very confidently say that this is actually one of his softer, "smaller" songs. He doesn't hit the truly soaring notes that he's capable of here, offering a gentle, vunerable characterization of the singer's POV. Whoever said that clearly had no idea what they were talking about.

One of Josh's fine covers. I think I particularly like that he has no need to use that high head voice that he has been particularly fond of including in most of his songs in his last several albums. It's great, too, but I wonder sometimes if he's in danger of overusing it. The baritone register is where he really shines after all.

Very nice song.The background looks like NYC. My ggg grand father eent there from Conn. To seek his destiny and he did. My g grand parents had their home in NY also but mostly lived in Conn. Names now in history . I wonder what was like then. Just read about them in history books. Such a different era.Nice song. It feels like Home Wonder how we get to be in another place. Josh sings like a fallen angel but I think this song is just one of those songs that is meant to be a simple and uncomplicated message about the simplest of things. His wonderful full voice and an arrangement is just to much for this song.

it was never written by chantel Kreviazuk! She did a nice version of it to be fair!It was written by Randy Newman, and recorded by edwina hayes and it was her version that was featured in the soundtrack to the film MY SISTERS KEEPER
