I lost the Love of My Life in October last year and found this song after her funeral. It is such a comfort to me and expresses how much I miss my wife of 60 years. A woman who stood by my side for over 20 years in the Army, 17 moves, three deployments (two combat) and seeing her husband wounded. I know where she is without any doubt and know that I am "just a breath away from seeing her again. Josh Groban is amazing and I will have two of his songs sung or played at my own funeral, this one an "99 Years."

One year ago tonight, after a week of having no signs of life, the nurse in hospice told me that my mom was ready to leave. I played this song in my moms ear from my phone. As I cried, my mom made a sound. The nurse cried and told me that she was thanking me and telling me goodbye. I have never been the same person, and I have never forgotten this song as it helped my mom say goodbye.

We always rush in life, we sometime need to stop to enjoy life. It seems she live a fruitful life. I don't know what lye beyond death, but I truly believe death is another chapter. I first heard this song when watching Ali McBeal in which Josh sang after losing his Mother as part of the story line. Little did I know that years later after losing my Dad and Mum within weeks of each other that this song would play such a massive part and give me comfort in my grief. I listened to this song many many times whilst crying over the loss of my parents and it helped me through such a difficult time. In the early 200's I was following a friend to her island in Canada....I had NO idea where I was going, it was raining and I heard Josh for the very first time.....I was beyond enchanted as his was the first voice I had heard in decades that struck a chord in my heart.....Since then I have seen him in Concert 4 times and am so grateful to have lived to hear this incredible voice. As I traveled home tonight this song came on. I have never heard it before, but I started to cry for every word has meaning to me since I lost the love of my life Bob last December 2019. We were in our 50 years of marriage and losing him was such a tragedy. He suffered a long illness with the horrible disease Cancer. When some people were asked what they remembered most about my Mom most of the answers included her laughter but mostly they will always remember her smile. She had an all encompassing smile. This is my Father's favorite song. He is 91 now. In 2008 our Mother passed from pancreatic cancer. My parents had been married 55 years, and Mom was one of his 2 best friends. His brother was the other. My Dad cried himself to sleep for years, lost without Mom. When my Brother played this song for Dad, he said this is how it was to be without our Mom. When God calls Dad home, we will be playing this at his funeral as they will finally be together again. We also intend to play You Raise Me Up, and Donna Taggert's Jealous of the Angels, because that's how we kids will feel. Such songs bring us to places our hearts are. So Thank You to these two artists who will send our Daddy home to Mom.
